Restaurant Spitz

Lovely atmosphere and vibe, friendly staff, ice cold beers and the olives were delicious! I’ve only docked a star for service because it was quite difficult to get serving staff’s attention for order and payment but given it was so busy ( Saturday afternoon and the Techno Naturklang weekend parties) so it really is not surprising. Would be keen to eat here another time!

They're eager to please, nearby the railway station and the food is of quality and very well presented. Visited when not many others were there, ordered inside and had the food brought outside when I asked for it.

I had a disappointing experience with the coffee here. While the food was okay, the coffee felt like an afterthought. It served from an automatic machine, was overly milky, and the beans lacked depth/quality. More concerning was the hygiene; the server handed us our drinks by gripping the rim of the cup where one's lips touch. Given the small portion size and poor handling, I won't be back for caffeine. The atmosphere reminded me of a canteen and less like Bistro.

We had lunch here and made reservations beforehand, which I highly recommend, as the restaurant is a popular lunch spot for many employees due to its central location, so it tends to be booked up at lunchtime. I appreciated the location by the National Museum, which gave it a more relaxed atmosphere. The service was very friendly and the food was very good.

We went there for a dinner with a group of 6 people. The place is behind the train station, very spacious however we did t have a good dinner experience. The quality of food vs price was bit aligned at all. The meat was chewy, the greens served with meat was without any taste. The desserts were ok. We had super high expectations however we were quite disappointed.

Disappointed that I turned up for a resturant meal experience and placed with the drinking section instead. You can see on the pictures when it came to my tea at the end of my meal there was still seating rooms available although I was told there was booked out.

Restaurant Spitz has been my favourite meeting place for lunch with friends for the past six years. Delicious and varied menu, attentive and friendly staff, it is an oasis in Zurich to enjoy good company and good food. Have booked again for next week.

Friendly service, good food. Nice location very close to HB Zurich (main train station), only 2 minutes away in walking distance.
