One of Chania's best kept secrets. The coziness and comfort of the rooms, the private courtyard offer a sanctuary of peace & quiet in a heritage house nested in a perfect location. The dedicated & enthusiastic service of Yiannis and Nikos is one of the best I've experienced in Crete, and Greece (and, if you know Greek hospitality, that says a lot!) The generous & succulent homemade breakfast is absolute pure joy. An amazing boutique hotel that provides the same high quality, year after year.

We stayed here for a fortnight. Brothers Nicos and Iannis were extremely welcoming hosts, advising us well on restaurants and sights. The location is ideal – away from the main tourist area but only 5 minutes’ walk away from the seafront and a host of restaurants. Our room 14 was sizeable and comfortable. This room, out of the 8 in the hotel had its own balcony and seat with outside steps leading to the breakfast garden. Breakfasts were massive – pies, yoghurt, eggs in many ways, bacon etc, cakes, fruit, orange juice.|The hotel has access to secure off-street parking immediately opposite but this costs €19 for 24 hours. We parked for free on streets nearby but this did mean quite a bit of driving around to find a free spot.

Fabulous small hotel. Our room overlooked the garden patio, where we had a massive and delicious breakfast each day (5 day stay). Host and brothers Nikos and Ioannis treated us like family. Free street parking - but only on a few streets. There are some pay lots a short walk away

Wonderful accommodations and experience in every respect. Comfortable, modern rooms in a charmingly renovated historic building. We (two couples) had rooms on the top floor with great privacy and an outside deck. ||Our hosts elevated our whole experience. The three generations of the owning and operating family quietly and unobtrusively met--in fact, anticipated--at every turn, recommending destinations in and out of Chania, restaurants, and other interesting enhancements to our trip. Everybody was there to say goodby when we checked out. ||We will not even think about staying anywhere else when we return.

Amazing hotel! We booked at the very last minute as our flight from Chania was cancelled, leaving us high and dry late at night. The host, Ioannis, was right outside when our taxi arrived and immediately welcomed us warmly and helped us with our baggage. I cannot speak highly enough of Ioannis. He (and also his colleagues) was incredibly welcoming and went out of his way to help us. Our flight the next day was an evening flight, so he allowed us a little extra time in the room and looked after our luggage while we enjoyed a day in Chania. When we came back, he invited us to relax in the lobby and fetched us water to drink on a very warm day. The hotel itself is a beautiful old building in the heart of Chania, a stone's throw from wonderful shops and restaurants, and very near the harbour and beach. the room was quiet, spacious, spotless and well equipped. A fantastic breakfast was served in the morning in the beautiful secluded backyard full of trees and flowers. We hope to return next time we visit Crete.

Excellent in every way. A family -run small hotel quietly located in the centre of Chania old town. Tranquil garden where breakfast is served; an enormous choice of food, some dishes freshly cooked.|Spacious elegant bedroom with high ceiling and sophisticated lighting.|Exceptionally friendly and helpful proprieters. Highly recommended.

Splanzia was amazing. Believe the ratings and the reviews. I can’t imagine there is a better place for a couple to stay than here. Loannis and his family that runs it takes pride in their place and it shows from breakfast to dealing with quests on a personal level till late night. Breakfast in the courtyard was a feast. They don’t stop bringing you fresh fruit, juice, coffee, yogurt, breads, eggs, pastries….. (We didn’t have lunch either day) Parking can be a challenge but we found spots with a little patience. We stayed two nights and I regret not staying longer.

Nikos, Giannas and the family were exceptional hosts for us. The hotel felt more like a quaint B&B to us, with a very comfortable room healthy, central location perfectly placed in Chania's heart, and never-ending breakfasts each morning (definitely eat the Greek yogurt with honey!)|They had smart tips on where to park, best nearby beaches, and what was happening in the city. Plus, when we left some clothes in the armoire, they were helpful enough to have it sent to Athens at our next hotel.
