Although some reviewers complained because they couldn’t see the lake from their rooms, we didn’t have such an expectation when we booked the hotel. The “lakeside” position of our room looked over the park positioned between the hotel and the lake, and it was only a couple of minutes walk to the banks of the lake! It was also only a 5 minute walk to Annecy’s old town and lots of restaurants. The rooms were large and comfortable. ||The hotel doesn’t have its own parking. But the underground parking at the old Hotel de Ville is just across the street, and the parking cost is subsidized by the hotel. ||Our big negative was the breakfast, which we had prepaid. We were at the hotel for 3 nights. On the first morning, we arrived for breakfast 30 minutes before they were supposed to stop serving, only to find no croissants, no baguettes, and very little fruit. We complained to the waitress and she said she had put more croissants in the oven and they would be ready in 20 minutes. The second day we again arrived 30 minutes before end of service and, again, no croissants and no baguettes. I complained to the waitress who just shrugged. This time I complained to the front desk. Five minutes later, we saw that the waitress had been sent out to buy an armful of baguettes from a local bakery. On the third day, there were croissants and baguettes! I think a 4-star hotel should be capable of buying sufficient baguettes each day without complaints from customers.
