I would recommend this hotel and we hope to return. Very happy with our family room. Beds/Bedding extremely comfortable. Our daughter got a large sofa bed, also very comfortable. No balcony on the family rooms but we appreciated the large opening windows and enjoyed the view over Old Town roof tops. Bathroom was well stocked with toiletries and the shower was spacious. The safe was available at no extra cost and filtered water was readily available in reception. The location is fantastic, especially useful for us as a family going back and forth from the lake after swimming/boating. Also an abundance of restaurants and the Old Town very nearby. 10 minute walk to train/coach station. The breakfast room was never crowded and the buffet selection was good. As a bonus the hotel offer the use of a paddleboard which we didnt use, but would hope to if we return. Staff were polite and helpful.

We stayed here mid-July. The hotel is a short 10 minute walk from the mainline station and the bus station. This makes it great for us as we like to travel by train and use local transport. The Hotel has a view of the Lake and is very close to the old town. The room was good but a little on the dark side. Bed was fine. It was large, had a separate bathroom/toilet. The room was very clean and well kept. The breakfast was buffet and ok but not as good as other hotels. All the staff from the reception staff to the breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. I would fully recommend this hotel for a holiday in Annecy.

Our stay at this hotel was truly exceptional. The location is ideal—just steps away from the lake and old town, yet very quiet and peaceful. The hotel offers a discounted rate for nearby parking, which was extremely convenient. What truly made our stay special was the staff. When they found out we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, they went above and beyond to make it memorable by preparing our room with thoughtful touches. It meant so much to us. The room was spotless, cozy, and beautifully designed. Breakfast was fresh and delicious with plenty of variety. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. We felt genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely return!

As per my daughter: “Now I understand why it’s called the Splendid Hotel. The cleaners even left a small treat after tidying the room, which was a nice touch. The breakfast was genuinely impressive - lots of variety and high quality. Plus, the location couldn’t be better.”

The sign at the street claims that they are four star. Maybe a decade or two ago but it is not now. Rough around the edges. Slippery bathtub/shower – be careful of trying to take a shower standing up. Toilet seat cover would not stay up. Toilet itself had rings of gray cracks inside. Hot water was iffy. What it did run it took a long time to get to the sink or the tub. No amenities whatsoever – not even face towels. I added a night and they did not give me the advertised rate that I got for the first three nights – they charge me full rack rate! Parking pass did not work and they only give parking credit for Knight which is for euros but it did not do the credit at the parking garage. I would avoid this place because it needs some serious work in order to become more than two star.

The location is great! Near the lake, near lots of restaurants, and near shopping. The staff is friendly, helpful, and speaks good English. My only complaints are relatively minor, but all together they were enough for me to deduct a star. There is only one public bathroom on the ground floor so lines can be long. The breakfast is decent, but not amazing. The fresh fruit and bread were good, but much of the other food was just ok and lukewarm. They don't let you use the tables in the breakfast area during the day (to play cards for example) unless you have bought something. Our room's shower did not have a back side of glass, so the water from the shower sprayed onto the toilet and floor. Others in our group did not have this same problem.

We had a great couple of days at the Splendid Hotel, Annecy. We reserved a triple room and were thrilled that the second bed was located in its own room, making our triple effectively a suite. There was plenty of space. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean and appeared to be freshly renovated with lovely furnishings. (Good air conditioning, too.) The bathroom was quite luxurious with a double sink, lots of towels, thick robes, etc. We did not eat at the hotel but enjoyed the Nespresso machine, the cool water machine in the lobby (including free fizzy water for our water bottles), and the evening chocolates. The location is also top notch just across from the beautiful Lake Annecy and just steps from the old town. We were spoiled for restaurant options, all easy to walk to! The free postcards are a nice touch! My only tiny criticism is that I wish that the generous bathroom amenities included hair conditioner, although perhaps this could have been provided if I had asked.

Although some reviewers complained because they couldn’t see the lake from their rooms, we didn’t have such an expectation when we booked the hotel. The “lakeside” position of our room looked over the park positioned between the hotel and the lake, and it was only a couple of minutes walk to the banks of the lake! It was also only a 5 minute walk to Annecy’s old town and lots of restaurants. The rooms were large and comfortable. ||The hotel doesn’t have its own parking. But the underground parking at the old Hotel de Ville is just across the street, and the parking cost is subsidized by the hotel. ||Our big negative was the breakfast, which we had prepaid. We were at the hotel for 3 nights. On the first morning, we arrived for breakfast 30 minutes before they were supposed to stop serving, only to find no croissants, no baguettes, and very little fruit. We complained to the waitress and she said she had put more croissants in the oven and they would be ready in 20 minutes. The second day we again arrived 30 minutes before end of service and, again, no croissants and no baguettes. I complained to the waitress who just shrugged. This time I complained to the front desk. Five minutes later, we saw that the waitress had been sent out to buy an armful of baguettes from a local bakery. On the third day, there were croissants and baguettes! I think a 4-star hotel should be capable of buying sufficient baguettes each day without complaints from customers.

Yelp
Situated just across the street from the lake, this charming boutique hotel in Annecy impressed with its clean and surprisingly spacious rooms, especially by European standards. The thoughtful amenities provided added to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend staying here!

Yelp
Excellent location right next to a large park and the waterfront and one block from the pedestrian only area with restaurants and shops. Staff was great, room was nicely appointed and very clean. Hotel was extremely helpful in picking out great restaurants nearby as well as suggesting bike rentals and boat rentals.

Yelp
Absolutely loved Hotel Splendid - central, a really great breakfast, a very cosy room and right opposite the stunning lake. We just stayed for one night but I would not hesitate to stay again. They do not have parking but it was no problem to find a carpark a short distance away. The gentleman on reception could not have been more charming and helpful. Loved it!

Yelp
Admittedly, this will be an odd review as I in fact did not stay here. BUT!! Jerome helped my parents and I immensely on a Saturday night trying to find a cab; providing us maps, numbers, directions, only for him to run out and spot a magical taxi for us. Mind you, we were NOT patrons of the hotel. That level of hospitality and service is quite rare and I can only imagine it translates to the rest of the hotel. I'm now sad we did not stay here. Jerome was our little Saturday night savior :)
