What can I write that hasn't already been written about this lovely, quaint and charming little hotel...all the positives you see written are absolutely on point! I've been fortunate, and unfortunate, to travel the world and would put Splendida Palace's dedication to looking after their clients at the very top, regardless of hotel size, official "star rating" or classification. From the minute you book the hotel (helpful direct email communications) to the minute you leave, you feel like Marija, Dea and the entire staff have adopted you and made it their mission to look after you. Pleasant, helpful, informative, efficient, etc. (the adjectives could fill up this review) and their attention to detail is from another world! So, before I provide any details, I just want to say a huge thank you to these individuals. They'd make staying in a closet an enjoyable experience and Splendida Palace is no closet!||Now, for the hotel. This was a last minute trp as I had planned to go to Spain to meet some friends, but changed my plans due to the heatwave there (I did not escape) and wound up traveling alone. Because I was detemined to stay at Splendida Palace, I had to change rooms in the middle of my stay. One room was very large and "palatial" and the other was smaller, but had a wonderful balcony with sun beds, a table and chairs. Both rooms were spotless, very comfortable and provided everything you would need. The location is excellent; just a few minute walk to the Palace and the Old City on a quiet street, with a market, pharmacy, etc. also just a few minutes away. The breakfast was out of this world and should show up in guide books under "Split Attractions" . Nice little pool, where, of course, the lovely staff see you and bring out snacks and drinks. Split and Dalmatia are a somewhat underrated hidden gem. Wonderful area (city and surrounding area); full of history, good restaurands and nice people. ||Highest recommendation for the hotel and the city!
