Our first time visiting Budapest and we were excited to try this spot after seeing all the great reviews. The food was beautifully presented and clearly well-prepared, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite match our taste — it was a bit bland and wasn’t served hot, which took away from the experience. On the plus side, the drinks were fantastic, and the atmosphere was lovely. However, it was uncomfortably warm inside and the AC room wasn't opened, which made it a bit hard to enjoy fully. I’d definitely come back for the drinks and the vibe, but probably not for the food.

Touristy Spot with Great Service and a Nice View – Spoon the Boat Spoon the Boat offers a lovely view of the Danube and Bratislava Castle, which makes it an attractive stop for visitors. The staff was very professional and attentive — service was definitely one of the highlights of the experience. However, the food was fairly average and didn’t quite live up to the location or the prices, which felt quite high even for a tourist-oriented place. The interior and furniture could also use some updating, as it doesn’t feel particularly fresh or modern. Overall, it’s a pleasant enough place for a drink or a quick meal with a great view, but if you're looking for exceptional cuisine or authentic atmosphere, there are better options in the city.

We discovered this place online and decided to consider it for dinner, mainly because of its beautiful view of the castle — which, when illuminated at night, creates a truly picturesque setting. During a morning stroll along the Danube River, we thought it would be a good idea to secure a reservation for the evening, just as several Google Maps reviews had suggested. Although opinions about this restaurant seem to be quite mixed, we were fortunate to have a wonderful experience. The service was exceptional — elegant, attentive, and carried out with a touch of sophistication. We were seated at a stunning wooden table that truly felt like a piece of art, adding to the refined ambiance. The food was enjoyable overall. My family members highly recommend the goulash soup, which they found to be rich in flavor and very well prepared. I opted for the burger, which was decent but not particularly memorable — just a good, standard burger. The atmosphere was elevated by the presence of a live pianist, playing soft, cozy tunes that created a relaxed and intimate dining vibe. As for pricing, it was quite reasonable considering the quality of service and the elegant setting. Overall, I would recommend dining here — just be aware that experiences seem to vary, so it's a bit of a gamble. Fortunately, ours turned out to be a lovely way to end the day.

I’m so glad I found this place and made a reservation. The food was delicious, the cocktails were top tier and the service was great. My server Pali was great. He made some delicious recommendations and super friendly. They had a DJ playing music and the view is immaculate. I made a 8:30 reservation which was perfect for sunset views. I was here solo and had a great time. To me, the price was so worth it. If I’m ever in Budapest again I will definitely be back.

Amazing food, views but mostly, amazing service from Andra’s. Today was our first night in Budapest and we couldn’t be anymore happier. We will definitely come back. Thank you so much! ❤️

It was a great experience, lovely surroundings, the view is amazing, you can see the Buda side perfectly. Food was great, the pasta is nothing special but the Csirkepaparikas was amazing!! The dessert were also delicious. However it is quite expensive but the service and food, atmosphere is worth it!

We walked in on the off chance and got seated with a wonderful view. Peter our waiter was very attentive and always appeared when needed! Excellent value for menu, fabulous food and lonely cocktails and wine! Thank you Spoon!

Peter and Bea were amazing in their high level of service in making sure all our needs were met and making recommendations of options available. The menu was comprehensive with amazing gourmet options. This is an experience in which you want to give yourself time to savor. The views, cuisine and service are above and beyond.
