Food was great. Service was fantastic. Only negative, the bathroom was occupied by someone for an incredibly long time. Bartender was cute but had some "Tude/Sass" - she wasn't rude in anyway but you can tell she was not the one to mess with. Her drinks were solid as well. I also had the Brussel sprouts and the Warm Apple Tart...you needed butter on the doors to get me out.

Google
Great spot to dine in at during lunchtime. The food and service is spot on and exceptionally delicious, especially the sweet potato fries!

Google
I think the atmosphere is good, the people seem very nice and I’m sure it’s awesome to sit outside. However.. I got a pick up order of lobster Mac n cheese and was hoping for the same quality as the gray goose and unfortunately it fell short. It took a while, lobster was burnt and they simply just didn’t do as good as a job. For almost $40 I would expect it to be top notch and was a bit disappointed.. in their defense it was busy but still. Maybe I’ll try again.. deff not on a fri and sat night.

Google
One of my favorite restaurants in Westport!! We had the veggie burger, Brussels sprouts and the eggplant with tomato and enjoyed every bite of it. Large portions for an okay price. Though it smells like a stable/barn in the restaurant it’s a very nice atmosphere. Would love to see more vegan options that have protein but still happy with the veggie burger. For sure coming back again.

Google
Good experience! Food is good and portion is big. Price is fair. Menu has several classic American options. Usually crowded on weekends specially if you want to seat outside. Try to make a reservation beforehand. Service is also good, waiters explain all in details and are available to answer any questions.

Google
Lovely place, very good veggie burger!

Google
This is your classic American restaurant with a large menu filled with options for appetizers, salads, wraps, burgers, bowls, and entrees. For appetizers we ordered the pretzel bread dip, and crispy brussel sprouts. As entrees, I got the KFC which is the Korean fried chicken with kimchi and pickled veggies. My friends ordered a healthy bowl, with options to add an egg or fried chicken on top. Food was very good! Portions were absolutely HUGE. I left feeling very stuffed and very much needing a nap. The meal was very hearty and comforting, but quite on the heavy side.

Google
Everything was ON POINT. Food was hot that should be hot and cold food was freeing cold as it should be. Only downfall, eating outside on a blustery cold night- just make sure to wear appropriate shoes! My toes were frozen! Then again I expected heaters in the outdoor dining room as most other places have. Otherwise it was nice, not too loud for a Saturday- and I was told it was a 45/60 min wait- and as we were deciding what to do within 10 minutes the hostess had a table large enough for 4 and we were a party of 3. (My son had a broken foot and they allowed for a 4 person table to accommodate him having to have it up)

Yelp
The gas fireplace is nice on a cold night. Decor is solid... great job modernizing an old building. We had great service, and the food was very good. We were surprised they were "out of the ingredients" for their Special Cocktail (at 6PM on a Tuesday). We were also surprised that there is now a 4% Surcharge on your bill if you pay by Credit Card. WE didn't know this until our Credit Card bill arrived. Seems like they should offer a discount for cash ... vs a premium for a credit card.

Yelp
Lovely location/ambiance, food, and service! When we first got in, it took quite some time for a server to come our way, but once we were noticed, our server way very attentive and made up for the initial faux pas -- our food came out very quickly, and was hot and delicious! Portions were awesome, too. We can't wait to enjoy our leftovers for lunch! Highly recommend this spot!

Utsav R.

Yelp
Dropped in for brunch after looking at houses in the area. Good food, prompt & friendly service, and chill vibes. Would come again.

Yelp
I haven't been to this restaurant in several years and will probably not return again for a while. The cozy casual atmosphere was inviting but the food lacked imagination and flavor. The truffle burger hardly tased of truffle and had a white sauce that remined me of creme fraiche that didn't quite taste right. What was really unpleasant was one the Goat Cheese Salad. It hardly had any ingredients besides lettuce and the dressing was so tart that it made my mouth pucker. Is the chef asleep at the wheel tonight? The restaurant seems so busy so I must be an outlier critic but I don't think it rises to Westport standards (or price point) any longer IMHO.

Jackie V.

Yelp
Service was fast. The pretzel sticks are delicious and the avocado salmon wrap was just okay. The sweet potato fries were yummy. Good for a big group but get here early because it quickly fills.

Richard L.

Yelp
Drinks were decent Service was spotty as I guess we overstayed our welcome as we meet some family members and went longer than 90 minutes Water stopped being served but food was tasteless and nothing memorable Setting was ok and seems out of place for a brockport restaurant

Pamela J.

Yelp
Love the Spotted Horse in Westport. They generally have the best most affable bartenders. & we love the food. Lots of vegetarian options. On a Friday night, however, when we wanted to have an enjoyable time and have our friends meet us, the bartender Xiomara was so awful, we cut our stay short. This woman in no way represents Spotted Horse in Westport. When I asked about having a mocktail, her answer was, "uh, I don't know, maybe you can have some pineapple juice." Because of her and because of her only we met our friends at Nomade where I got to select from 5 wonderfully concocted mocktails. Still will dine at the Spotted Horse but definitely not go to the bar if she's still there. It was so unenjoyable.

Yelp
Nice place with several tables outside and plenty inside. The staff were polite. There were 2 of us on a quiet Monday night. We were seated in the corner of the restaurant at the tiny table for two. I get it, but the restaurant was more than empty inside. In my view, it would have been nice to offer a regular size table. Apart from that, the food was really good! We ordered meatball spring rolls as an appetizer and they were yummy. Tuna and chicken tacos were delicious and the portions were generous. Definitely coming back!

Keyy B.

Yelp
Good spot! Inside and outdoor sitting, comfortable atmosphere. I did it again!! Came on this amazing app, put what I had a taste for and bam! I had a taste for the burger and my friend wanted a mimosa, I got one too. All together the food was good. I did ask for well done burger and it was more medium. My friends burger, the same, she ordered well done and it was more medium. The mimosas we good and the soda could have used a little LESS ice.

Yelp
Always good... have been for brunch and dinner (both Shelton and Westport). So many choices, everyone is sure to find something delish! This time went for dinner. Shared the watermelon arugula salad - so big. Easy to share. So good. Had the salmon and bok choy for dinner. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Service was terrific. Many seating choices - inside /outside.

Yelp
We had a decent time at Spotted Horse Tavern for a quick weekday lunch. Starting off with the ambiance - we ate outside, there's a little section near the street with tables. Pretty decent enough, it's great to be outside in Westport. The inside was a bit darker and pub like. The food itself was pretty good. We ordered the fish tacos, which came with 2 tacos. The fish is tasty, as are the tomatoes and guac, but it didn't feel like quite enough for a full entree. I would have liked if they thrown in one more taco for the $17. The chips and salsa it came with were fine, wish it was a little spicier. My son had the grilled cheese on the kids menu and it actually came out pretty burnt. Kind of disappointing there. The service was fine, though it took about half an hour for our food to come out. We were hoping to eat quickly, and it took a little longer than we had hoped. All in all, it's a fine spot, probably not one of my go-to's in Westport but we had a nice enough time.

Yelp
Great people watching, good food, tasty drinks and live music! Can't go wrong with that!

Brittany C.

Yelp
This place is 10/10. The cutest outdoor patio, in a beautiful area, and the food was delicious. Couldn't recommend this place more!

Alyssa Z.

Yelp
We have had nothing but positive experiences here! Great ambiance, excellent service, and amazing food! The brunch menu is also great!

Salvatore S.

Yelp
I'm new to Connecticut and have been here a couple of times now. Ambiance in the day and evening are great. There was a talented duo playing music on weekend night. I'd suggest sitting outside. While inside is rocking with some pretty good tunes (depending on taste) outside, especially at night, is great! The food is high quality, served hot, with great presentation. The mussels in either fra diábolo or white wine is my favorite! So good! We also had tuna tartare (excellent) and great pretzels. Drinks are tasty and service is very good. This is one of my top faves in Fairfield/Westport area. Dine with confidence!

Keli R.

Yelp
Very sharp and short bartender.. beyond the level of sarcasm. I asked for a dirty martini and literally while the v was on the tip of my tongue to Name my spirit, he rolled his eyes at me and said .. yeah ok? Gin? Vodka? And I smirked back.. I was about to say Vodka.. and as he rolled his eyes again, and about to try again to shut me down.. I said, Tito's. A group sat next to us and a girl asked to grab out menu.. as I said sure, he looked at them Only and said .. hold on, let me grab you the menu for the locals... like what? What does that even mean? I live 15 minutes up the road. So bizarre. We were going to order an app and hang out but it was just very uncomfortable.. maybe he was having a bad day but it was not a great experience . Always heard great things. Wish I felt welcome enough to stay.

Val J.

Yelp
Food is great and the Ambiance is charming with a big fireplace where you can sit next to.

Jack K.

Yelp
if you want to experience the most amazing rudeness and arrogance you can EVER IMAGINE on the part of barmaids, come here. Other than that it is good. Some charm.

Doug W.

Yelp
The bartender sits & talks to multiple staff barely recognizing us - the food services gone to hell in blink of an eye $17 for two mediocre tacos happy hour is shut down by computer -- Save your hard earned money and find another place. We should have known something was off when barely anyone was there. They use to have a good happy hour and taco Tuesday No MORE!

Yelp
Stopped in for a beer to watch the Euro 2024 on a Tuesday afternoon waiting for my son to finish work nearby. Not greeted with a hello or a smile but the bartender instead screaming the name of the man with the remote when I asked if it would be possible to change the channel. I sat down and then she then asked what I wanted and I said 'what beers do you have on tap?' as the taps all had white pulls so I couldn't see the brands as I was not given a drinks menu. "We have Guinness," she said. I told her that I prefer a lager as it was hot out. "What lagers do you have?" I asked. "Thimble Island," she replied. "Is that a lager?" I asked. "Don't know. We have mostly IPA's," I was informed. I had a Thimble Island, just to see, which turned out to be a red ale. Clearly this bartender didn't know her beers and worse she did not seem to care. The bar staff and some others who worked there proceeded to talk loudly and make themself a series of rum shots which they would loudly slam on the bar and then drink in one gulp and then laugh and make one after another. Then the attention turned to the game I was watching and the comments ranged from "What is SLV?" and "What kind of stupid country is that?" and "I've never heard of these small stupid European countries," etc., etc. "SLV" stood for Slovenia, who were playing England at the time. I felt for anyone in the bar who was from Slovenia or had relatives there or was of descent from that country. Slovakia was also disparaged as was Croatia as "some really small crappy Mediterranean country." The level of ignorance and tone-deaf attitude and service was appalling and the fact that they were drinking on the job at 3:00pm on a Tuesday was bad enough but the service was very poor; I was never offered a menu, a glass of water, nor a refill on my one pint of beer when it was empty for some time even though I considered having another. I left at half-time and went next door to Pink Sumo where the staff are always warm and friendly and considerate, unlike the poorly trained numbskulls at Spotted Horse.

Yelp
Stopped in spotted horse today. Enjoyed the vibe sat by a hightop at the bar. We had three delicious appetizers two drinks each that were just yummy and right on point and for dessert dessert we had the Affogato, which I forgot to take a picture of but I highly recommend also missing from the review are the the roasted brussels sprouts which I took a terrible photo of. The service was wonderful. There was a vibe at this place. It got really packed by the time we were leaving and everyone Latapie the staff was lovely.

Yelp
It was a hot day in Westport today. We decided we wanted somewhere cool to sit and have a cool drink and some easy lunch. We stopped by the Spotted Horse, I've passed by this place before, and I've always noticed how busy it was. Today it was still busy, but there was a table for us outside under the umbrella. The water refills on a hot day, as we looked at the menu were frequent and much appreciated. I got the Kale and Avocado salad and their iced coffee. We got their jumbo pretzel sticks to share. These are warm and came with grafton cheddar beer dip & whole mustard for dipping. My two friends got the Crispy Calamari and the Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna Tacos. My coffee was just right, it came with cream and sugar on the side. The Kale and Avocado salad was perfect! This is exactly the type of food I like for a hot day! This was filled with fresh kale, dried cranberries, pine nuts, cannellini beans, cherry tomatoes and topped with slices of avocado and queso fresco cheese, and cilantro-lime vinaigrette dressing. I didn't add any protein to this salad. This was fresh, colorful and textured, very light and filling. The calamari was crispy and well made, not at all greasy. I tried a few pieces. It came with marinara, lime aioli & sweet thai chili sauces. The Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna Tacos were another flavorful and colorful pick! I loved the pineapple-cilantro salsa that came with this. But the tuna was a bit too salty. Overall we had a very pleasant time at the Spotted Horse. The food was all very fresh and delicious! And the service was outstanding!

Yelp
Met 3 friends in town and a shop worker recommended this spot for lunch and glad she did. There was a short wait but worth it. Starter - Arthur Ave meatball spring rolls Were very good Burger - 2 friends enjoyed them Tacos (forgot which one she got) also said tasty and very good Vegan sweet potato soba noodle bowl. I'm neither Vegan or vegetarian but was craving something healthy. I must say this was amazing and I'd go back when I'm in the area just for this!! The combo of ingredients worked so well. The only desert I wanted (bread pudding) they didn't have! So key lime pie in a mug it was and it was amazing!!!

Joseph P.

Yelp
THE happening scene in Westport. No wonder why: amazing street dining vibe, wonderful crowd-pleasing menu, great service and sensible prices. It's a gathering place for lunching moms and working-from-home professionals. It's lively and bustling, yet relaxing...a nice table in the shade under a market umbrella on a warm sunny day is what outdoor dining with friends or family is all about. Recommendation: the Ahi Tuna Salad. The best I've ever had, and more than I could finish (and I am a guy, with a guy's appetite and diet, haha). Enjoy now, and thank me later.

Kate G.

Yelp
Great range. Fresh food. Loved it. Nice patio too. They're making me type more in order to post.

Brianna S.

Yelp
writing again to add more photos. been to this place 4 times now. i loved my sandwich and my grandma loved her salad. desserts were amazing too. wait staff extremely friendly, as usual. if i lived closer, i would probably be in at least once a week lol. pro-tip: park in the church parking lot across the street. the yellow line spots are for all day parking. park, eat, then take a stroll and enjoy downtown westport.

A.T. W.

Yelp
Service was okay, but the food was excellent!!! They didn't have the CT style lobster roll on the menu, but if you ask they may have it and it was delicious.

Jeddrey R.

Yelp
Convenient location and spacious bar with consistent food and service. Kid friendly or a place to grab a drink with friends so it covers all bases. Wouldn't recommend takeout-thats been my only poor experience...but take out on anything but italian/pizza or chinese/thai is a tough one to execute anyway.

Mara B.

Yelp
Visiting from Wisconsin and this place was PHENOMENAL! The drink selections were great and our waiter, Mike, was very attentive. We were a party of five with a toddler and I was very impressed with the menu! I got the scallops and they were DELICIOUS! My daughter got a side of sweet potato fries and a side of broccoli- both delicious and toddler approved! My partner got the steak tips for the appetizer and they were TO DIE FOR with the chipotle aioli! We also got two different pastas, chicken tacos, and the salmon entree. The salmon was not as good as the other dishes because it needed more of a creamy sauce but the appetizer made up for it! 10/10 definitely recommend this place :)

Alex A.

Yelp
Spotted horse has great options on the menu, but is a bit pricy for the quality of the food. The pasta was expensive for such a small portion that was lacking a sufficient amount of sauce. It seems as if though they focus more on appearance than the taste of the food. While the food isn't terrible, it's not worth it for the prices in my opinion.

Fran S.

Yelp
What a wonderful night out in such a great place! Everything from the service to the food and beverages was spot on.

Christine I.

Yelp
Chicken sandwich... amazing! Good portion as well. (Chicken Caprese Sandwich) . . . .

Chris G.

Yelp
Solid spot in Westport. Great bar and nice indoor/outdoor seating for dinner. Food is good and the staff great. No reservations and the place can get crowded (including the bar) so chance you'll be shut out but worth the try.

Nancy C.

Yelp
Dined here before and remember the lunch salads were delicious and plentiful. Yesterday we ordered 3 Greek salads and were all disappointed. Limp lettuce, and the dressing was anything but Greek. Overall we were disappointed with our food.

Syed K.

Yelp
I love this place, great atmosphere, ambiance and the food is very good too. During this Covid era they have started to have seating outside right on the road which makes the experience even better as you gaze on to the neighboring stores. Food is always up to the mark. I have tried their burgers Burger which was very flavorful and decent quantity. The Mussels have been consistently good, and comes with a buttered up bread that is to die for. I would recommend ordering fries with the mussels to make it a Moules-frites experience. Great vibe at this local hotspot.

IR G.

Yelp
Met up with a group of girlfriends. Service and food were both great and never felt rushed.

Ed K.

Yelp
Good food and drinks but, if you eat inside, it can be incredibly noisy. I enjoy it when I can eat outside here.

Miranda G.

Yelp
Outdoor seating was really nice and the inside has a great atmosphere for a casual date night.

Emily N.

Yelp
Stopped by here during their Sunday brunch hours after some shopping in downtown Westport. It was buzzing with people but luckily, there was room in the covered patio (it's heated!) which is where we sat. I got the KFC sandwich (Korean style fried chicken with vidalia onion papaya-mango slaw & kimchi aioli on brioche) and my fiancé got the Remedy cast iron skillet. He really enjoyed the skillet and my sandwich was good, although there was a lot of topping compared to the amount of chicken (the chicken batter makes the sandwich look huge but it is just very puffed). Knocked one star off because our waiter was nowhere to be found in the beginning (another table's waiter came over to check on us because it was obvious we had not ordered yet but had been sitting for a while) and the table environment was lacking (wait staff station was directly behind me and plates were noisily stacked).

Melissa S.

Yelp
Dry check sandwich. Stale French fries. Extremely salty fish tacos. Food was just a waste of money. Service however, was great.

Donna U.

Yelp
Went for happy hour on a Saturday around 5pm hoping it wasn't too crazy...it was packed. People were saving seats at the bar for about an hour but we managed a high top that's still served happy hour. We were under the impression happy hour was all apps half off but were a little disappointed when we found out it was select apps (see sign at bar). After asking a few people for the correct happy hour menu we decided to just order the apps we wanted from the regular menu - seared filet tips, meatball spring rolls and mussels fra Diavolo. The mussel order was huge, could have been an entree on its own. They were also extremely spicy, hence the name. The filet came with an unusual but good corn salsa type of side. It wasn't quite street corn but it was tasty. We were a little disappointed but not with the spring rolls. They were good with a burst of provolone but lacked what I would consider traditional flavors of a meatball. The food was good, atmosphere was lacking. It was insane so the servers were running around crazed. Things took a lot longer then they should like refilling drinks and clearing the table. By the time we were leaving it was insane and I was glad we were done. Shame on me for trying to go out on a Saturday evening I suppose. Might try this place again when it isn't so crazy.

Valerie S.

Yelp
Fantastic food. Try the Grey Goose Cobb-- great salad. The wine and beer selection is very good as well. Ambiance is great, but loud. Try to go early or mid-week if you want to talk to your dining companions. Service is pretty fast and, knowledgeable

Patti G.

Yelp
Service was great. Got a seat quickly with no reservation. Food was wonderful. Beautiful dining on the sidewalk. Very attentive and quick waitstaff. Highly recommend.

Ryan W.

Yelp
The food is incredible here, as are the cocktails. They actually muddle fruit and berries in them instead of using syrups. I've thoroughly enjoyed dining here multiple times.

Charles C.

Yelp
Great food, super friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere: a must go to especially when Giano is behind the bar

John M.

Yelp
Better to eat outside in better weather. Pretzel is A+ and burgers are very good. Nice casual atmosphere.

Meghan H.

Yelp
The food here is always great and you can't go wrong with a burger or the chopped salad. But that is not why I'm writing this review...we had Glachan as our waiter and he was such a joyful and attentive guy! We would go back there again just for his service alone. Thank you so much for the hospitality!

Don B.

Yelp
Good food reasonable prices and an over all great vibe. It's our go to place for a casual meal with friends

Edward S.

Yelp
Love, love & love! Always consistently yummy, always fun and a great place to meet and watch people. Lisa the bartender is my favorite bartender in the area. Beautiful & smart with the best service manners. You will love her too.
