Amazing! So beautiful, easy walk. Went at sunset and loved every moment! Lake is nestled in between the mountains, filled with wildlife, flowers and the glory of nature!

One of the beautiful lakes in Colorado. It is situated within Rocky Mountain national Park and Completely surrounded by mountains and meadows, the views are no less than gorgeous. It was mid October and the lake was all icy and extremely cold. However the views compensated it all . Would love to go back and experience the same when all trails are open and accessible.

Go there before 5am and get in free with no reservations required. This will make the sunrise even more spectacular than it already is!

Didn’t get to see more than a glimpse of the lake but it’s very pretty. I’m reviewing this because we stopped here on our tour with yellow wood guiding aka Jared and these bathrooms were our saving grace. Skip bear lakes and come here if you can, it’s not clean but it’s definitely better. UPDATE: we came back and bear lake potties were better, these were still best though. We did the walk around sprague lake and it was beautiful!! Love coming here! Super easy walk/hike. Decent amount of parking and it’s the underdog compared to bear lake.

What a beautiful lake. We took a very easy walk around the lake. We saw 3 deer & a rabbit. This would be a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise.
