The best place to be in Charleston in the AM hours is at Spread while the stafff pulls out freshly baked bagels of all varieties out of the wood burning oven! Such a simple and delicious concept done extremely well by smiling and hospitable team members. I suggest the Blueberry with cream cheese, but there are a ton of choices! Enjoy!

I wish I could give this place 10 stars! I saw them hand care for every bagel being baked in the Woodfire oven. The rosemary olive oil bagel flavor is absolutely my favorite. Perfect amount of salt. A very cozy atmosphere and love that you can see the bagels being baked right there. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting. I was here for a bachelorette party and we ordered the bagels and took them back to the Airbnb togo.

Fantastic bagels. These Montreal bagels are a little smaller than NY style bagels, but delightfully chewy and very flavorful. Also the Grilled Bacon Pimento Cheese Sandwich was a very happy surprise! Will definitely get it again

Got the cure and a blueberry bagel. Can’t go wrong. Not too much going on with the cure so you can actually enjoy it unlike a lot of sandwiches like this. I’ll be back for sure.

We are visiting from Wisconsin on our honeymoon and found Spread Bagelry, and it was one of the best surprises of our trip. We have never had bagels like these before. WE LEARNED WHAT MONTREAL STYLE BAGELES ARE AND THEY ROCK! We were so impressed that we came back two different times during our stay because everything was just that good. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and quick with service, and the whole place was spotless, which really stood out to us. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, the kind of place that makes breakfast feel like a treat instead of just a meal. We were also so thankful that they are open on Tuesdays because it truly saved our morning that day. Spread Bagelry is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves fresh, high-quality BAGELS and great service. We could eat here every day and never get tired of it.

Google
Montreal style bagels… never had them, had to go. The bagels were great! Was not NYC level but I’m definitely glad I went here instead of jersey mikes. Menu was a bit confusing for me. The service was exceptional. All 3 people behind the counter asked me how I was doing and they were genuinely friendly and helpful. The cute girl there commented on my order which made me feel good. The club on the rosemary bagel was solid. It has honey mustard mayonnaise and apples - and was a club. Cream cheese everything bagel was good. Maybe a little heavy on the CC but better than too light!

I don’t live in Charleston, in fact I live 5-6 hours away. I was in Charleston back in May and stopped here to get a bagel. I wasn’t sure what I wanted, the employees suggested a rosemary olive oil with the pistachio honey cream cheese. IT WAS SO GOOD. BEST BAGEL I HAVE EVER HAD. Loved it so much, I stopped and grabbed another one on my way out of town the next morning. I have been longing for another one of those bagels since. I finally got the chance to go back this morning. I got another bagel for me to eat on the car ride home, and 3 extra to take home for my family and I (my family requested I bring some back because it’s all I have talked about since May). The staff is GREAT. They made me a ready to eat bagel, and packed the other ones with the cream cheese on the side (I had requested this). Well, I just got home and checked the bag, they threw in 2 extra bagels for me because of how much I love them and how far I live. So incredibly thankful for this. It was such a sweet gesture. Every time I’m in Charleston I make sure to stop here. The bagels are fantastic, the staff is fantastic, and it’s a great place to sit and do work. 10/10!!!

Google
The bagels are chewy and remind me of grocery store bagels, plus the rosemary olive oil bagel tasted mostly like salt. Additionally, they only put cream cheese on the bottom and my toppings didnt cover the entire bagel. (I am spoiled by other bagel sandwich places I think) The lattes are great! And the service too.

Yelp
I really loved the wood fired bagel, I got an everything bagel sandwich and it was great! The smoked cheese and the bacon was super tasty. The service was friendly and quick. They have some seats but I took mine to go. I also got the Salted Carmel Iced Latte and it was good but a little sweet for my taste. The bagel sandwich was to die for though, if I lived here I would be back to get that sandwich all the time!

Yelp
I've never had a wood fired bagel before so I had to try it. It was a little more dry than a boiled bagel, but there were a bunch of delicious flavors to try from. I got a standard sausage, egg and cheese on rosemary and olive oil bagel, toasted with jalapeño cream cheese. The bagel had way too much egg! The jalapeño cream cheese was delicious and next time I would try just a toasted bagel with some of their different flavored cream cheeses. This would be a great place to work from as it's right off of King Street and has a couple of tucked away tables. Not too busy and offers a great selection of different coffees. I got the sea salt caramel and it was super flavorful.

Yelp
Loved the unique flair of wood fired bagels! It made the outside crisp while maintaining the chewy inside. Service was fast and kind! We took ours to go due to the limited seating but the space was clean and cute. Definitely check this place out!

Yelp
I love what a huge variety of sandwiches they have, but their bagels are hard (probably because of the wood firing) and for a place called spread I would have thought they would have had more cream cheese options. The service is super quick and I appreciate that!

Yelp
Delicious bagels in Charleston! Stopped in on a late morning on Saturday and all the seats were taken (they have maybe 10-12 seats total). There was also a line but not too long, it actually gave us just enough time to decide what to order. The cashier was also super sweet! When we grabbed our food maybe 5-10 minutes later, a table became free which was perfect! I had the Rosemary Olive Oil bagel with Nova Salmon spread ($6.25) and it was delicious! I thought the spread was an interesting way to eat smoked salmon on a bagel, and then rosemary flavor of my bagel was so good. Only thing I didn't like was the texture of the bagel - it was less soft and bouncy than my boyfriend's bagel, maybe because of the olive oil? My boyfriend tried The Standard ($10) with eggs, cheese, and bacon. He really enjoyed it and it looked really yummy! Definitely would come back if I lived in the area.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our first Spread Bagelry run. Yes, they're busy on weekends. In general, we're glad that bagels are "back" in the conversation. At the front of Spread, you'll find the ovens and wonderful smells. Baking bagels gives them a nice outside crust. We tried the bagel sandwich on cinnamon raisin and enjoyed it. Everyone else ordered either sandwiches or a toasted bagel and schmear. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Our entire group enjoyed their choices. Ticket times were about 15 minutes and seating is very limited, so you may want to grab your bagel to go and eat outside. We look forward to our next bagel run, sandwich, and wonderful smells.

Yelp
Run, don't walk, to Spread ASAP! The bagelry of my dreams! From the variety of choices to the friendly and efficient staff, you can't go wrong. I went around 10 am on a fairly busy Saturday morning downtown. The cashier was absolutely lovely, we chatted about the combo of the bagel I ordered as well as local coffee shops. I loved how welcoming the interaction made me feel. On to the food: I got the Rosemary Olive Oil bagel with the Pistachio Honey cream cheese after reading about the combination in a different review. 10/10! The bagel was toasty on the outside and chewy on the inside, an appropriate amount of salt, and the best part was the perfect cream cheese - to - bagel ratio! It allowed both the flavor of the bagel and the flavor of the cream cheese to come through. I loved the salty-sweet combination and would absolutely recommend it. It was ready quickly but tasted very fresh! Look no further for quality bagels with more interesting offerings than your standard bagel place and kind and efficient staff. I am big on bagels - like eat one every day big - so trust me when I say it's good!

Yelp
Trying this place for the first time. First impressions: warm, inviting, friendly staff. The area you can eat at is very comfortable, I definitely liked that. It was 8am, but the tables could have used a wipe down already. Food: I liked the different choices and they give you really good portions on the bagel. With all that being said, both bagels seemed a little dry. They were so/so. But I would be willing to give this place another try and check out their other options.

Yelp
The bagels are good but staff are a bit grumpy and there's not a whole lot of places to sit. My bagel+spread was also packaged in quite a messy way if I'm being honest. Their location in Mt. Pleasant is a way nicer vibe and I'd highly recommend! I gave them 5 stars without question.

Yelp
Foods pretty good especially if your on the run and need something quick service was normal and ambience is fine just to sit have a coffee and bagel while knocking out some work early morning.

Yelp
Well we definitely did not have a good experience. I think there are some serious management issues happening. 30 minutes for a toasted bagel with cream cheese. It was made wrong not once, but twice. No refund given just an offer of a half a dozen bagels. They were out of gluten free bagels as well. Once I received the everything bagel it was hard and very salty. Not impressed and the wait made it a horrible experience.

Yelp
The guy (man child - Jayden maybe?) taking our orders was having a temper tantrum the entire time we were in here. Throwing his arms up, stomping around saying he was supposed to be off work. He messed up my order and threw a fit when I corrected him. He was so rude to every single customer. The Coffee is terrible!! And We stood around waiting for well over 30 mins.. the female worker was a gem, after the employee having his tantrum left, I approached her and she made everything right with my order. However the boy making the food threw my order at her to give to me... the behavior of the 2 boys was disgraceful and I absolutely would NOT recommend this place.

Yelp
Beyond grateful for the service here - they helped me so quickly and willingly when I had an error in an online order, and went above and beyond to make my life easier when fixing it. 10/10 customer service, and we of course are obsessed with their bagels as well!

Yelp
Delicious bagels! And the staff is so friendly! We came here for a quick to go breakfast this morning. I had the standard sandwich which was so good! The cheese on this was the true stand out of the sandwich. I also love that they give you the option of egg white or regular eggs without charging extra. This was a very good bagel, definitely recommend.

Yelp
90 degrees inside the restaurant No iced tea (real, not bottled) No decaf coffee Bagels are very good

Latasha W.

Yelp
The worst service and the bagels are awful. Much better places in town like Holy City bagels or Rubys.
