Had lunch. Was healthy and wonderful! Fair prices with some fun shopping to boot!

The Stork Got Lost

We choose to eat here before going to House on the Rock. This was perfect!! Love the store and restaurant. This is the perfect store to find a gift for a loved one or to treat yourself!! Put this at the top of your list when visiting Spring Green The food was delicious, and the people were friendly! I ordered the quiche of the day a sausage, pepper and zucchini with Barbeque Chicken soup! I've never had anything like this before but it was fantastic. We also ordered a salad and cream of mushroom soup with rose. Everything was excellent and easily priced.

The lady was nice. Store was cute. But the food is awful. Everything is just terrible. Our family couldn’t eat a single thing that we ordered. We literally sat down. Food came. And we paid $70 and walked out still hungry. The owners need a wake up call that the food isn’t fresh. Just gross. Gordon Ramsey would died.

I love coming here for breakfast on the weekends, but the whole menu is tasty. Every time I have somebody visiting in town this is my food spot and they always get hooked after one meal! The service is usually pretty fast, but even without that it's a great place to either just wait at your table or walk around and explore the store.

So quaint and cozy but still had a lovely Saturday morning busyness to it. We got the horse radish radish scramble (really good and just a hint of the horse radish), Jimmy Dean scramble, a quesodilla cinnamon today, tea and coffee and all of it was delicious. Fair prices, quick service, and inside a lovely boutique style shop.

Google
Seriously one of the best breakfasts ever. Had home fries, scrambled eggs, and blueberry and pecan pancakes. Stabbing the potatoes I thought they were going to be undercooked, but they were amazing; it must have been the potato choice. They were perfectly cooked and delightful. The eggs were also perfectly cooked and had herbs/chives or something in them giving them great flavor. The pancakes were the singularly best pancakes I’ve ever had. If you want pancakes with some toppings, these ARENT FOR YOU. The pancakes are about 25% toppings baked into the cakes. It was amazing how many blueberries and pecans they give you. They aren’t skimpy with their ingredients or portion sizes. The staff is super friendly. It’s 45 minutes from me but I will certainly go out of my way to go back. Their general store has a great assortment of textiles, kitchenware, and puzzles and games. Great collection of Charley Harper puzzles.

Didn't stay long, just enough to look around a bit and use their restroom. Restroom was lovely by the way! Very clean and pretty.

Yelp
What an awful, stupid experience. This all started because their lattes DO NOT COME WITH ESPRESSO. The staff acted like I was an idiot for asking if the iced lavender latte I ordered had espresso. I'm 40 and have never ordered an "iced latte" from a cafe just to be served cold milk, but that's exactly what I got. I asked if I could get it remade with coffee, and they again brought out just iced milk with syrup. This time I asked for just a couple shots of espresso on the side so I could add it to the drink. They eventually at the end of the meal brought out a mug full of lukewarm espresso - probably 4-6 shots! I added a splash to my drink, mixed, and it was (finally) really tasty! But then I got my bill and they had tacked an extra $5 ($2.95 for the espresso + another $2.00 for ???) On top of already paying $4.95 for just cold flavored milk, I guess? When I tried to explain what happened, the cashier, I assume Karin, got combative and that's when I learned this entire weird experience was because they simply don't include espresso in their lattes! At any point somebody could've cleared this up, the cashier knew exactly what the issue was as soon as I asked about the charges, and was ready to argue! I was told "that's just how they named it" and I should've "read the description". So I would've known they're the only place I've ever encountered that considers just flavored iced milk at $4.95 a "latte". She said "chai & matcha lattes don't have espresso" therefore it shouldn't be assumed a "latte" comes with espresso. Chai & matcha have their own caffeine! It's the caffeine that makes a latte, not milk. Why in the hell am I literally arguing the definition of a latte with this lady??? I was really chill up until this point. I was more incredulous than anything. Served just iced milk twice? Takes almost the whole meal to just get gross overload of espresso? Whatever. But to then be charged an extra $5 (making this drink almost $10!) and argued with by staff? That was a bridge too far. Went from just a weird, bad time to a positively nasty time. Top 3 worst dining experiences. Good job, Spring Green General Store, these out-of-towners definitely won't be back, which seemed to be the point. Hope the extra $5 you bullied out of us was worth it!

Yelp
We usually make a special stop while passing through the area. We love the lunch menu, assorted gifts, and usually choose some local cheese or sausage from their small grocery selection. The selection is limited to mostly gift-like items, some apparel, toys, cleaning supplies, sunglasses, etc.

PJ C.

Yelp
We needed a quick lunch after hiking nearby and my sister recommended this place since she had eaten here before. It was quite busy for before noon on a Thursday - the set-up is a bit confusing and the menu for lunch items is small. (The menu said breakfast served to noon but that is only on weekends). We ordered at the counter - a chicken salad sandwich and an Italian both on ciabatta bread. They both came with kettle chips. You then grab a table and then they bring the food to you. The food was solid, nothing special and prices OK. You pay on the way out along with people who are shopping in the store so it can make for a long line.

Chadrick J.

Yelp
I've been to Spring Green twice now and it's an OK place to grab a bite to eat. We typically come here on our way from camping and tubing in the area and in dire need of food not grilled by us. This is the closest easiest place to get in and out of with ample outdoor seating. The omelet and scramble I had as well as the pancakes were good but nothing I would be dying to come back for. If there were other options nearby, I'd definitely try it but this place does the trick and lands easily at three stars for what it's worth.

Noelle L.

Yelp
Fun little eclectic gift shop and attached cafe. We had a delicious lunch on a beautiful back patio - thinks soups, sandwiches, but also lots of breakfast items. The shop was fun to browse - plenty of slightly off color gifts (love it) and unique items I haven't seen elsewhere.

Isabelle L.

Yelp
We were looking for a quick bite for lunch after our visit to Tailesin and there were not a lot of choices in town. The General store was the perfect choice. We placed our order at the counter and chose to sit on the porch. The food came out fast. My chicken salad sandwich was delicious and I appreciated the customization on choice of bread and sides. Got to browse the store a little before heading to the car. Low key, nice vibe and good food the general store gets my vote.

Adrienne R.

Yelp
The General Store never disappoints! The food is tasty and healthy and I always seem to find something to buy in their shop.

Casey P.

Yelp
This is such a fun place to sit and have a coffee and chart or have a meal. The food is pretty good with fair prices. The staff was hustling due to being very busy. The decor is fun and created by local artists. We enjoyed looking around the gift shop and found some really fun and unique items.

Dan L.

Yelp
It's just amazing place to go to. The folks are kind of food is good and I like the atmosphere.

Wendy S.

Yelp
I was Unfamiliar with the area and was expecting more of a home grown atmosphere. Not especially welcoming.

Gregory G.

Yelp
What a delightful space, and Place!! The people here, those behind the counter, cooks and all, serve with such pleasant smile. Food is home made style with healthy ingredients and tasty favors! Always a pleasure to be here, especially in the " sun room"! If you get the chance, it's well worth the trip! Your belly will thank you!

Darell S.

Yelp
Great breakfast choices, food was always tasty & well prepared. Service was excellent

Alan M.

Yelp
Wow!! Stopped during a bike trip, & didn't expect this caliber eatery/gift shop in town. What a wonderful surprise!! TD ordered Greek Salad topped with dollop of chicken salad, while I ordered burrito with homemade refried beans. Both delicious! Staff was great. Seating cute. Reasonably priced. Couldn't ask for more. (Being from Florida, the patrons' local accents are very entertaining!) Definitely a Must Stop'!

Yelp
We chose to dine at the Spring Green General Store on a Wednesday morning. They were serving lunch. I guess they serve breakfast during the weekend. My daughter wanted to shop, which is part of the reason we chose the General Store. They had great merch. The gal that took our order was another story. She was quite unpleasant. We order from the ray of sunshine behind the counter, picked our own silverware, napkins and table. The server who Brody's our food was much more friendly and that was nice. We ate our soup, quesadillas, and chili on rice, which was fair. Then I did a little shopping before leaving the quaint town of Spring Green. Breakfast in the morning would be better.

Paul C.

Yelp
Outstanding place to have a weekend breakfast. A "Bucket List" place to visit. If I say anything about the "twists" there might not be one left for me next time.

Melinda P.

Yelp
This was a random stop on the way to House on the Rock and now is a reason to return. Fantastic little cafe with great GF options. Hummus was tangy and all the veggies were super fresh. Can't wait to go back.

John T.

Yelp
I used to enjoy visiting this establishment. Recently, the staff have become very rude and uninviting. Instead of providing a pleasant experience the staff including the manager on duty act as if it's an annoyance or a nuisance to be open during the pandemic. They act like it is such a burden for them to provide service to the point where they wonder why they are even open. The menu has changed, to a smaller variety, and the prices have increased significantly to compensate for lost revenue in the last year. I was very disappointed in our visit and won't be back.

Judy B.

Yelp
What a delicious stop! The general store food was outstanding - the funky clothes and Susan, the delightful woman who checked us out, also deserve recognition! We had ham sandwiches and planned to share one, but they were so good we got another one or was it two? The breakfast burrito, not so much. Wish We had more time - the whole town looked like a fun place to shop!

D'Anne L.

Yelp
Have yet to have a bad meal here. Their soups are amazing and breakfast is always yummy. I can never decide, so my husband and I each pick something and share. Their pancake specials are always interesting flavor combinations. Don't wait to grab one of their maple frosted cinnamon twists in the morning - they don't last long and are not ridiculously sweet...just like I like it.

Paige F.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in town. As a local it is nice to have different and unique places to take family and friends. Always good service and good food. Love the specials.

Ed F.

Yelp
The general store is a gift shop and cafe just south the main street. With near-by attractions of House on the Rock (read: tourist trap on the hill), American Players Theater and Taliesin, Spring Green is one of those "quaint" touristy little villages that caters to artsy urbanites in their 50s and 60s with lots of time on their hands and cash in their pockets. The cafe has that cool upscale feel. The service procedure is a little odd. They post instructions on a sign behind the counter but it gets lost in the sea of other signs. The counter lady is a little surly, like she expects everyone to already know the system or to have read the hidden instructions. For my fellow newcomers, you order at the counter and they give you a flag from a different county (that's cooler than a number). They bring your food and when finished you bus your own table and pay at the register in the store. It's a good system but since it's unusual they should be a little more helpful walking you through it. Especially since so many of their clientele are tourists. Our food was decent. I had the Italian sandwich (poor choice), the wife had the Waldorf salad and daughter had the burrito(my fav). My wife and daughter enjoyed it more than I did. It's a "cute" little place, just not my scene. I don't care for the attitude.

Cathy L.

Yelp
From the outside this looks like a small town general store but when you go in, it's a whole different world. Organic and health foods galore, local cheeses and a whole lot more. the best part of the general store is the cafe that is inside. cozy and friendly. the staff is so nice and the food they serve is amazingly delicious. Vegetarian chili, grilled cheese, homemade veggie quiche, homemade lemonade, veggie burgers are just a sample of what they serve. don't worry non-vegetarians, they have chicken, turkey and fish options as well. all of the food here is so fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. A great place to stop if you are ever in the area going to/from house on the rock. everything you would expect from a small town but also so much more!

Jack P.

Yelp
The General Store was a pleasant surprise as I wandered the empty streets of Spring Green like that dude in the Twilight Zone episode who was the "last person on earth." You open their door to a bright space, that hippie place smell, and the sounds of folk music. What a treat! I only had a coffee and pastry, but I'd love to come back here for a full breakfast one day. Food and beverage is order at the desk w/delivery of cooked items-otherwise self-service. I sat for awhile enjoying the live folk music. The gift shop part has a pretty large women's boutique, but then some other items for both men and women, such as alpaca socks-the warmest socks ever. I took advantage of the bulk spice collection and realized where I now can buy Himalayan Pink Salt. There are also a lot of really interesting and fun gifts for all ages. Great place to find gifts for kids. Overall, the store and the cafe were busy and fun to visit.

Mimjo M.

Yelp
Start your visit to Taliesin here. The General Store and Cafe is a rare treat for those of us who hanker for a rustic shop with a bit of everything and food too. I got the chicken salad which was mostly chicken as it should be, with toasted sesame seeds and an occasional green grape. Perfect. My companion had vegetarian soup and bread. The veggies were fresh, the broth was deeply tasty. The French bread was crisp and soft in all the right places. While waiting for the meal there's a whole store to explore: earrings, unique clothes, kitchen items, soaps, etc. all very tempting.

Isa L.

Yelp
I usually order the chicken salad sandwich. I LOVE the bread it comes on. Always soft and delicious. If I stop for breakfast, I like the cinnamon twist and their large variety of hot teas. It can be hard to find a seat, but is usually worth the wait.

Katie B.

Yelp
I really like this place. They have bulk goods, fashionable apparel (mostly women's), gifts, with an excellent cafe. I ordered a latte and it was pretty spot on, at $3.95 I sort of expected it to be good, though it was probably an 18 oz drink so it's worth it. I ordered the quiche of the day with the side salad and it was ooohhh so good. The quiche was perfect, with a very buttery crust (if you don't like butter, you wouldn't enjoy this quiche) served with warm bread and a good salad. The salad had beet greens, tomatoes, fresh red onions, and the home made dressing is great. The atmosphere is pretty great as they have outdoor seating on the porch, a side sunroom type area which is more quiet, and a main dining area. They were really busy the day I went but I still managed to get my food in about 20 minutes with a long line at 12:30pm. I really have no complaints with this place. The food is great, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere comfortable.

Jason S.

Yelp
Every time we are near or in spring green this is our must stop on the weekends for breakfast. Food is unique and excellent quality. Great staff members that always help out with questions. Even when we went the first time and did not fully understand the process for the cafe they helped us along the way. Love the egg scrambles and almost every time I'm there I get the egg special.

Jessica B.

Yelp
Love this place! Great breakfast. Order at the counter and they give you a table flag with a country on it. Come here on the weekend for their specials. I had their chillaquilles scrambled eggs and my bf had their cheese curds scrambled eggs. We also shared their pancake special- Honey Nut. Pancake was very dense and heavy. We brought half home for the dog.. Coffee is really good- self serve with several options. Place has a general store that is cute and has some unique merchandise and clothing.

Rudy V.

Yelp
Five stars for the General Store? You bet! This place captures the essence of a small town and the magic of the rolling hills rising out of the Wisconsin River. Many people pour their sweat, souls and passion into making this a unique, inspiring experience. Quality breakfasts and lunches with quirky, thoughtful gifts combine to make this s hub for the community anda treat for visitors.

Toni S.

Yelp
From the moment you drive up & you step inside, you are transported to a simpler world & time. So relaxing & just quality service & food! A must do if your in Spring Green or just passing thru!

Wendy P.

Yelp
A charming place for a delicious lunch. Having just toured the freakish surreal dreamscape known as "House on the Rock", we needed a little comfort and serenity. This place provided both. I had an portobello/avocado panini, and a bowl of gazpacho. Both were very tasty. The folks who work there were very friendly! You can also get a cold beer or glass of wine which is nice. Grab a baked good on your way out. I had a ginger/white chocolate/ craisin brownie. Heavenly!

Jolene R.

Yelp
The shop is stocked with great items - Smartwool socks!! Awesome bags! Cute and cozy sweaters for the ATP! Locally brewed beverages! - and the food in the restaurant is really good - simple but fresh. We were in Spring Green for 3 days and we went to the General Store on each of those days. It's just, well, the staff.....I've never seen so many people working at one place who looked so angry at, well, everything. They were yelling at each other in the kitchen. None of them made eye contact with any of the customers (EXCEPT for those they knew personally. Those lucky devils got to chat with the staff without interruption while the line grew.). None of the staff smiled, said "thank you," or even bothered to make eye contact with their customers. This was true of both the store and the restaurant. I give it three stars and will come back whenever I'm in Spring Green, because I came in the first time to try the food and found it to be REALLY GOOD - fresh and very tasty (the burrito is my favorite!), and the lattes are super creamy and well brewed. The staff may be surly, but they brew a damned fine cuppa. On a side note, I don't mind at all busing my own table, but I do wish they'd make the dish tray easier to get to. You practically have to go behind the counter and into the kitchen to get to it. Meanwhile, you're competing with the people ahead of you who are hemmed in by the people trying to figure out which mugs are meant for coffee and which ones are meant for water who are hemmed in by the people getting silverware and condiments; and the kitchen staff is trying to get around you from the other direction, without making eye contact, to deliver tasty orders to tables. My being stuck at the dish bin for over 3 minutes is how I learned that the kitchen staff doesn't always get along so well.

Amy G.

Yelp
Very fun ... ggood food/service...a little pricey but enjoy the ambiance and shopping

David M.

Yelp
Neat little shop, cafe, and breakfast spot. I visited with a large group (30+ people) and we were given a whole wing of the restaurant area. Because it was such a large group there was a limited menu but there was great service and the food was really good. We all had a either a quiche or a gluten free option. Considering the size of the group the service was attentive and friendly, coffee was regularly refilled, and food was quickly delivered. A very cute and well run establishment.

Collin G.

Yelp
Whether you're in town for American Players Theatre, Taliesin, or just enjoying all that the driftless area of Southwestern Wisconsin has to offer, make sure you stop off at the Spring Green General Store for breakfast/brunch. The "Cajun Scramble" -- Cajun seasoned scrambled eggs with green peppers, onions, and CHEESE CURDS. I mean, cheese curds in scrambled eggs for breakfast. Just pass me a bratwurst and a Leinie's with that breakfast and I'll be in heaven!

Steve H.

Yelp
Went here for breakfast on a July Monday morning after a quick, non-cooking camping stay in Tower Hill State Park. More than adequate for the job -- good, fresh, local ingredients in most of the dishes. My 10-year-old son really liked his breakfast burrito with chorizo and commented on the quality of the chorizo, which wasn't as greasy and queasiness-inducing as some. He was also impressed with the orange juice, although I couldn't quite tell if it was fresh-squeezed. I had the ham and cheese quiche, which had a nicely done crust and was tasty. The bottomless coffee cup at $2.29 was just what I needed, as I'm getting kind of old to camp comfortably even on a thick camping pad. Had a couple of excellent cups each of two dark blends (the coffee is self-serve from pump thermoses). My small daughter (5) loved her cinnamon twist with the maple-tinged frosting and mentioned it a couple of days later. Can't remember what my wife had -- one of the healthy options, like oatmeal, which made her happy and she had no gripes with (always a good sign). She would have liked a slightly larger pot for her tea, but overall she was pleased. Great atmosphere; cozy and homey. Clean and well-lit, with lots of locals obviously making it their place of choice for breakfast, including many seniors, although the crowd was generally sort of hip and hippie-ish. A second dining area, porchlike and connected to the main one, had several tables looking out onto a green area with trees and railroad tracks. Overall, quite pleasant, and the store itself is a treat, with great toys, women's clothing, food, cleaning supplies ... a hodgepodge of thoughtful and organic stuff. I'd rate the service as "grumpy but lovable aunts." I got the impression from the signage and polite-but-not-warm responses that they tolerate and probably appreciate tourists in the same way your conservative relatives grudgingly accept your offbeat but still successful careers. Not a deal-breaker by any stretch and probably adds charm. But how do they expect us to read the signs anyway -- what a great store and a great atmosphere. This is a fine place and will always be a stop for us in Spring Green.

Heather C.

Yelp
We were out exploring the country side and we found ourselves in Spring Green around lunch time. With the help of Yelp we decided on the General Store cafe. Like others have mentioned there is a sign that gives directions on how to proceed. You look over the menu first, then order at the counter. The lady at the counter gives you a flag, then you grab your utensils, condiments, and find a seat. There is a small dining room with a doorway that leads to additional seating out on an enclosed porch. I ordered a hummus sandwich on gluten free bread and my dining companion ordered a BLT wrap with chipotle mayo. We also added chips and two lemonades. An employee delivered our food and noticed that they had forgotten to include my lemon tahini sauce. She said she would be right back with it, but she never actually returned. What we noticed most about the food was the freshness. Clean and fresh. The taste was pretty good too, but after we ate we were still hungry. Afterwards, we watched to see what other patrons were doing with their dishes. We noticed everyone clearing their own tables and putting dishes into tubs by the kitchen. So we did the same. The check had been delivered with our food and had instructions to pay at the register, which is out in the main area of the general store. Before we paid, we looked around the store and decided on some incense. It's a nice little cafe, would have been nice if there were a little more food with each entree, but perhaps we just didn't order enough, or the right food. If we find ourselves in the area we'll stop in again.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Every time I visit home, and my mom and I are about to run "errands" - as in, shop for things we don't need - I ask, where do you want to have lunch? The answer is always The General Store. When you first enter, you'll see the main store, where you can find clothes, organic products ranging from soap to hand towels, and a great selection of kid games and toys - many educational and highly rated. To the right is the restaurant. Order at the counter, where, instead of an order number, you'll get a world flag to place on your table. Pay after you're done at the main store checkout. Across the board, the food is just good. Sandwiches, soups, salads, pretty much anything you could want for a casual lunch out. There are specials everyday - two soups, possibly a sandwich or entree type dish (order the mushroom stroganoff if it's on the board), a meat quiche and a meatless quiche. I'm fond of the 5-bean vegetarian chili - lots of spices, a little heat, and very good topped with cheese and served with chips and salsa. You can also just go in for a tea (Numi) or coffee and a pastry. Whether you live nearby or are just passing through, The General Store is worth a visit.

Abigail R.

Yelp
Great place to stop for breakfast on the weekends! Highly recommend the Garlic Dill Scramble.

Brittany K.

Yelp
The General Store is way more hip and interesting than it sounds. Which is basically the motto of Spring Green, WI. The general part of the store is filled with organic, low impact, cool toys and toiletries and everything in between. The have jewelry from local artists and a small grocery section in the back with a ton of spices and herbs in bulk. I dig the local honey and Huzzah lip balm (you can get it in chai and earl grey flavors!). They have a hodgepodge of wooden tables and chair in the cafe area; very homey and comfortable. They have great creative, fresh and vegetarian foods and all are delish. I got the home made hummus sandwich with gazpacho soup for lunch summer 2012 and it was an amazing combo and just what I needed during the heat wave!

Jess A.

Yelp
I'm not kidding when I tell you I ate here twice in one day. On the way to Taliesin we stopped in for coffee and (delicious) breakfast pastries. After the tour we went here for lunch. This place made me want to live in Spring Green, Wisconsin. The store was great, a lot of local hand crafted goods, as well as organic body products. The food at the cafe was really great, and even though they were busy at lunch, we found a seat and our food didn't take long at all. I'm so happy we found this place, and I'm missing it a little bit now as I write this.

Monica H.

Yelp
I'm craving the vegetarian chili and the white albacore tuna sandwich... Karin can you please mail me my favorite meal please! The Americano's are top notch too. You can take your food to-go, you can eat inside, you can eat outside... there are tons of options at the SGGS. I also equally love the chocolate caramels with sea salt up by the cash register. Guayaki Yerba Mate in a can near the front door is my jam too. Can't wait to go back to the General Store! Miss you so so much.

Lori N.

Yelp
Great little spot. Fresh salads. Creative sandwiches. Fresh bread choices. Daily specials. Worth a stop

Gilbert Z.

Yelp
The Spring Green General Store was a great place for lunch. Soup, salads and sandwiches seem to be their specialty with many vegetarian choices. The sandwiches came on tasty Ciabatta rolls and the Gazpacho soup was loaded with fresh crunchy vegetables. While you order at the counter, the food is served to you and you get to bus your own table at the end of the meal. Very moderately priced.

Theresa A.

Yelp
Outstanding shop with delicious food, gorgeous clothing, one-of-a-kinds, and wonderful owner/employees! A must see!

Cella J.

Yelp
Very vegetarian friendly! They have tofu and veggie scrambles along with many other meatless options. The whole grain blueberry pancakes were to die for. They also had some freshly baked pastries which were delicious. Great coffee as well. If you're going for breakfast, plan on getting there at 8:00 to get a table. Otherwise, be prepared to wait. Also be sure there are no festivals going on. Every time my husband and I plan a drive out there for breakfast there is always some sort of festival going on such as Bob fest or Beatle fest and it's a zoo down there with no parking and if you do make it in there, the menu is limited. I had the Athens scramble and it was very flavorful. It came with a side of salsa and a small piece of sourdough bread which I thought was a little odd. I would have preferred toast or an English muffin. They do not make eggs to order, only scrambled. My husband prefers over easy eggs but had to settle for scrambled. They were pretty bland. The sausages were an extra $2 and were brown and serve. He asked me to stop buying him those at the grocery store years ago and then we go out for a pricey breakfast and that's what he got. Very disappointing. It would be nice if they offered some quality meat choices and eggs to order. The gift store is nice, although I believe they should really use at least half of that space for dining. I think that most people are there to eat not shop.

Devin N.

Yelp
It's been a while since my visit but i'm very bad at making time to write good reviews. This is a little gem in the heart of Spring Green. Wonderful food full of flavor and a wide variety of items on the menu. Wifi is a big plus with friendly staff and food for everyone. The store is neat too. It's a great place to stop before a show or after visiting a Frank Lloyd Wright house.

Yelp
A space that has both retail and a restaurant, I enjoyed a flavorful and inexpensive lunch. A Mediterranean sandwich with a tangy feta cheese spread which had a hint of lemon. It was a very good sandwich. Added a cup gazpacho and that was very well made as well. It has a fun vibe and the whole place is a bit of an experience.

Yelp
I hate to rate this quaint place so low. It has free Internet and locals gather to spontaneously entertain you with music. The breakfasts are the only standout meal here. Ok. The soups have merit too. I had a lunch there that really made me mad. The tuna sandwich was $8. It was very small and had no sides. The salads lack any substance too. The manager should take a trip to the Prairie Cafe in Middleton to see how it should be done! Next time we are off to Freddy Valentines or the Shed for lunch.
