Art and Culture in Asheville

"Each Thursday evening, locals and visitors gather at the Old Farmer’s Ball for a night of live music and folk dancing. Styles can range from callers for square dancing to freestyling against the rhythm the bands play. Though the roof of the original location collapsed in 1982, the cultural tradition continues today in Bryson Gym at Warren Wilson College. Guests don’t have to be members to attend a dance, but the membership costs $5 and knocks $1 off the nominal entrance fee of $7." - MATADOR_NETWORK

The reason I shop at Sprouts in Daly City is their outstanding service at checkout, especially Esther who always make my shopping experience a delight! She is courteous and helpful, qualities I look for at a grocery store. I hit the jackpot when Esther is working during my visit. Sprouts carries unique selection of grocery and bakery that I enjoy most. Thank you Esther for being you!!

I've been shopping here for two years and really appreciate the cozy atmosphere and fresh produce. The service is great overall (with the exception of a few cashiers). Special thanks to Esther - she's always friendly, helpful, and full of good energy. Esther, you're the best!

Google
Sprouts earns a solid 5 stars for a quick and convenient stop! We grabbed everything we needed for our road trip, including fresh milk, a variety of snacks like PB pretzels, candy, and delicious chocolate-covered almonds. The sammie meats were a great addition, and the sodas rounded out our haul perfectly. The selection was impressive, prices were reasonable, and the store was well-stocked and easy to navigate. A fantastic spot for a last-minute road trip shop!

Esther brings a lot of her own unique energy to the job. And it shows. No matter how stressful a situation gets when she is cashiering, the one thing I’ll appreciate is the level of consistency. Keep up the good work!

Tonight around 9:00 p.m. I just had a pickup at the Daly City Sprouts location and wanted to share how impressed I was with the associate who assisted me. I don't know his name. He was bald. There was a glitch in the app when a person clicks “I’m on my way,” the app notifies the associate that Im already there, even if you aren't. This led to the associate standing outside waiting for me, which understandably could have been frustrating. Please fix your app from the stores end. Despite the situation, the associate remained incredibly courteous, patient, and professional. When I finally arrived, he helped me load the groceries into my (honestly, very dirty) car without hesitation or judgment, which I truly appreciated. I left in a rush then realized I had accidentally forgotten an item. I had to turn around, he continued to be kind and accommodating to smooth over which could be a very bad situation. On top of that, whoever picks the orders at this location deserves recognition everything was accurate and fresh, just as I requested. Thank you to him and the team at Daly City Sprouts!

Google
I am so grateful to Evan the Manager and the Sprouts team to help us through an ordeal that happened at your guys store. He was so kind and professional, me and my wife are so excited to shop here at Sprouts. As a Veteran of this country it warms my heart to get the love and consideration of the Sprouts family. Thank you so much Evan and happy birthday. Other retailers could learn a few things from Sprouts.

Google
Truly one of the only stores I’ve been to that doesn’t have a customer service. When I walked in and asked where the Customer Service Department was, one of your managers Evan had informed me that everyone was customer service and is happy to help. I was done with my refund so fast that I did some shopping and ran into another worker named Chris, he helped me pick out the right apples that my wife needed. Truly top grocery store for me, thank you guys for everything.

Yelp
I was actually stunned that the store lets you sample anything in the store if your not sure about purchasing. The manager Dylan gave me a cup of salad with Cherry balsamic dressing. It was so delicious! First grocery store I've been to where the staff will walk you through the store to help you find all the items you need. The cashier Grace was very sweet and asked me follow up questions about my sons. The staff here really care. This will be my home grocery store going forward. Great job sprouts!

Yelp
Cool place for some unique food finds Rotisserie chicken is tasty Majority of the pens at the self serve by the pound sections are missing, broken, or out of ink. Only found one that worked out of maybe 6 pens.

Yelp
Kaylie was very patient and helpful. Did everything she could to help keep find and get a lot of groceries

Yelp
I used to be an occasional customer of Sprouts simply because they carried my favorite organic milk. Thanks to a fellow Yelper, I've become a regular customer. The reason? $5 sandwiches. The sandwiches really are a good deal. My favorite is turkey salad with red onion and mayo on multigrain bread. Deli surface is a bit slow, so drop your order off and go shop. And on Wednesday they have $5 sushi. Don't be scared. I tried it and it's good. Not gourmet, but good. A couple of other things they do really well- The bakery section has some good options if you like quality hamburger and hot dog buns. Brioche and such. They also have fruit pies for $7 that I think are a bargain. Interesting hamburger patties at the meat counter with flavors like Cheddar Jalapeno. Rotisserie chicken tastes great and is $10. Some competitors have cheaper chicken, but my experience is that most of it tastes like cardboard. This is a smaller store, so the selection is a bit limited compared to your Safeway, but they do have some things that I can't get elsewhere. Service is friendly and the overall shopping experience has always been fine for me. A friend of mine once forgot to finish paying at the self-checkout and the staff member handled it politely. Sprouts does have a member club. You still get their best price if you don't join, but joining allows you to earn points towards discounts and rebates. Worth it if you shop there regularly. Also, check their website for coupons and weekly specials. Sprouts is a good regular stop, but probably won't have everything you want for your full grocery list. I'll keep coming back for the inexpensive lunch. Give it a try.

Yelp
I always love coming to sprouts but today going tot he vitamins section was amazing! Pauline was so helpful and kind with making sure I found the exact protein powder I wanted and even gave me some samples to try! Great customer service! And very organized store!

Yelp
A few days ago my wife and I went shopping, and Lusyana was a very kind person. I appreciate her excellent service and customer service.

Yelp
Produce and bulk section stands out, everything looks fresh, and prices are reasonable. Customer service is very friendly, Parking is easy and the staff is always helpful and friendly.

Yelp
I shop at sprouts once or sometimes twice a week. I really like their selection. I especially appreciate their cashier Lusyana, always provides a warm greeting and excellent customer service, she's such a joy.

Yelp
If you live near Daly City, then this Sprouts location is a great market to go to. It is also the closest Sprouts location as the next closest is in Oakland. It's also in a great location with the Serramonte Mall nearby. Plus a Starbucks and In-N-Out closeby is a plus too. There is usually plenty of parking to be found too because the lot is huge. Although getting in and out can be a bit of a hassle during prime hours. What I love the most is also their sushi wednesdays where they have a promotion they offer where customers can get their select oumi sushi rolls for only $5 which is a great deal. For sushi that you get at a market it's honestly pretty good for what it is. I always get the Krispy Krab Roll. It's basically a California Roll with fried onions on top and teriyaki sauce, but it is so satisfying to eat. It's not on the same tier as an authentic Japanese restaurant's, but for the price you can't beat it. I know there is also a lot of hype for the deli sandwiches because of the price as well and people on social media love posting about it. The quality of their groceries are also very good as well. Overall, this location is great and all the staff are friendly as well.

Yelp
Love the selection of Johnny Pops! They had everything on the order and allowed me to add items after I placed it. I recommend ordering through Uber app to avoid crowds and what some customers claim is bad or rude service. I had always been the kind of shopper that looked for the best deals and quality, going from store to store on foot. Now being in my sixties this has become difficult, so get delivery. I was able to get everything with only one item needing replacement, smoked turkey to roast turkey. If you are older I recommend Sprouts.
google avatar

Wendy H.

Yelp
We mostly come here for the deli and their sandwiches. They are better than Safeway's. However this rating is for the idiot woman who worked there who made her preferred version of the sandwiches available for sale. She liberally smeared mustard all over our sandwiches without us asking for it. The mustard was so much it leaked right through the sandwich. I don't know who I should tell this to but mustard should be optional and with a ham sandwich. Not turkey. The sandwiches were inedible. I had to wash the veggies and wipe down the meat and cheese. The bread was replaced. I emailed corporate but haven't heard back. The lady behind the counter should be moved to meat cutting service. She is not fit to make sandwiches

Yelp
Today was the day for shopping for my music event scheduled on Saturday, January 18, 2025. The whole store was comparable to a treasure hunt. So many wonderfully intriquing items. I was greated by the nicest woman, Jackie, who introduced me to a new organic tortilla chip made with avocado oil. The samples she passed out were great - chips and dip plus she was very knowledgable about other items in the store as well. She even made sure my cart was working properly. Kudos to Sprouts for hiring such a wonderfully kind and considerate person to represent their store. Best to you, Jackie.

Yelp
I wanted to take a moment to share a recent experience at my local Sprouts store, which I visit almost daily. Today, I needed to purchase several vitamins recommended by my doctor, but I wasn't sure where to start. That's when I met Kaylie in the vitamins section. From the moment I explained my situation, she was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to help. I needed about 6-7 different types of vitamins, and Kaylie patiently helped me research each one to ensure they met my specific needs. Having worked in customer success management for over 20 years, I truly appreciate exceptional service--and Kaylie's dedication stood out. She went above and beyond to make sure I had exactly what I needed, turning what could have been an overwhelming task into a pleasant and easy experience. I'd also like to extend my gratitude to Teresa, who is always incredibly resourceful, helpful, and consistently provides excellent customer service. It's because of team members like Kaylie and Teresa that this Sprouts location continues to be my primary store.

Yelp
I love shopping here! It's clean and organized, and the staff are super helpful and polite. Adrien, the manager, is a lifesaver - he knows his stuff, answers all my questions, and is just a really friendly guy.

Tolga D.

Yelp
The store is clean and well-organized as always. There are plenty of sample products available to try. Thanks to Dillon for his helpful assistance. Also, shoutout to Lucy at the register--she does a great job and is always friendly.

Chatila F.

Yelp
I am very well attended by the employee Lusyana. She is very attentive, kind and does everything with great perfection. The market is very lucky to have her on its team.

Yelp
Very nice employees JOANNA and JOSEPH to name a few, serving snacks and smiles to hundreds of people in line for a nearby special event. The line wrapped around Sprouts and even though we weren't actively shopping at Sprouts, these super friendly people treated us very well as we stood out there for hours. Thank you!

Gurkan T.

Yelp
One of the best services I have received so far. Especially Lusyana, who works at the number one cashier register, is very helpful.

Yelp
This store is a hit or miss. The first time I rolled around here, I picked up some ground venison and this store has pretty decent selection on produce and meats at not too expensive prices. The cashier that helped me took me to a separate register in the front of the store and gave me the VIP treatment on a busy Sunday afternoon. He was a very nice guy and deserves a raise! However, I came back the next week on a Sunday night pretty close to closing time and it was the opposite. Several of the shelves were not stocked and it was more disorganized, perhaps from struggling to keep up from the afternoon. But when I was about to pay for my items, the cashier closed her register and briskly walked away, harshly stated "We're closed. Self checkout!" Then, the self checkout stopped working and i had to ring up and employee and its the same rude lady coming back and rolling her eyes and "fixing" it, only to have it crash again. On my way out, I saw her arguing with a customer outside. A complete mess. In summary, the lady that works Sunday nights is extremely unhelpful and arrogant. The least you can do is pretend you give a crap about your job. The eye rolls, the sighing, the short answers, this lady had it all. Hire more people like the first cashier and less like the second one.

Yelp
***deli review only*** I saw the $4.99 deli sandwiches trending on Instagram so I had to give it a shot, being a sandwich lover! I chose turkey on sourdough with all the free toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, sub dressing, mayo, mustard) and avocado (extra $1). I filled out the form and left it at the order window. It was ready in about 15 mins since they were pretty busy. The sandwich was huge for $4.99, fresh, delicious, and so worth it. 1000% would try these again. Super worth the price point!!!
google avatar

Carlos N.

Yelp
Great store with amazing products. The staff working at their deli/food area are amazing. I particularly like their tuna sandwich which according to their advertisement is $4.99 including chips and a bottle of water; add $1.00 if you want cheese. I've gotten the same combo for a long time until I realized they are still charging extra for the chips and the water. I'm not ok with that. Sadly, the people working at the registers don't have empathy or people skills. I brought it up to their attention and they got very upset. Not just that, they were unable to do a simple math to realize they have been overcharging me. I won't mention names because I feel that reviews should help businesses improve their services, and make sure they are not inadvertently stealing people's hard earned money. I spoke with the manager and he stated that in fact, they are changing more than their advertised price.

Yelp
Customer service is great. I always go to Lucy(cashier) she friendly and welcoming. She always ask how I'm doing and have a nice day. I appreciate this type of customer service

Yelp
I'd read that they spray their produce with a chemical to keep it fresh looking. Wasn't sure if it was true so I asked someone in produce and he confirmed. They usually do this at night so it "looks" better in the morning. He said (what its called) is something you can buy for home use. . . . I think not! Be double wary of the leafy greens - those get his hardest I'm told. Their cheese department is something they should be ashamed of in our foodie Bay Area. It's small and they have a worse selection than a Safeway - now that takes effort. The wine department is sparse too. They don't have wines in sections such as California, French, Italian, Organic. I had been curious about Cameron Diaz's brand Avalina and they had it so I bought the table red which was awful. The organization is crazy. Cheese wasn't anywhere near dairy for one example. I parked in handicapped and when I checked out I asked for assistance. 4 people were doing goodness knows what and finally someone volunteered. The place just feel right. It doesn't feel particularly sparkling clean. My husband warned about how scuzzy it is - he was right. I'll stick with Rainbow and Mollie Stone and of course the farmer's markets
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Good ole Sprouts I noticed you right after fresh and easy and The farmers market at the end is what really drew me into the store. The service at this location is exceptional with the cleanest filter water station inside the location for those that buy filtered water at the machines. Great selection of produce and products, beers , wines , pretty much a one stop shop. The sales here on fruit and veggies are definitely worth the trip here. The deli here is awesome. Rotisserie chicken for 8.99 There is also a self check out lane which ideally makes the whole process smoother. I like places where it's in n out No wait in lines and the staff and management here makes that happen. Yunno when you go to Safeway and gotta wait cuz there only 1 person actually working.

Jean-Yves F.

Yelp
The meat department is getting better and better. If you need 2 slices of ham, you need to file a form, and bring your own pen. Moving to 1 star.
google avatar

Fiona T.

Yelp
First off, their deli sandwich area makes delicious sandwiches. I really enjoyed my bacon lettuce and taco sandwich. But it took over 20 minutes for it to come out. Sandwiches cost about $5 so it's a great deal. Apparently, the work on a system where you put in your order on a piece of paper, drop that off, shop for 20-30 minutes and pick up your food after. They have a wide selection of groceries and premade food. There's plenty of parking space outside and lots of other shops around too.
google avatar

Angelica C.

Yelp
The manager of the Sprouts really needs to step it up. I absolutely love shopping at Sprouts but dang has the customer service gotten really bad. You really need to tell your employees to start treating people with respect and kindness. I remember when there were all really helpful, nice and friendly employees working there. These people shouldn't be given a job if they give attitude. The light skinned girl with fizzy hair in a bun is extremely rude her name is Trinity.
google avatar

U L.

Yelp
One of my favorite grocery stores. Location is perfect. I always feel good and relaxed when I shop here. I staff I dealt with so far are very nice and helpful. The prices are fair and you can find deals. Other than Costco and Trader Joes's, Sprouts is my favorite place to shop! A lot of items they have here can't be found in Costco so this place has the advantage in this regard.

Stephen N.

Yelp
Emphasis on organic, gourmet, specialty and other high-end products. Very popular with professional shopping services, so often very crowded. Good quality, extremely high prices Not a good choice for most family shoppers.
google avatar

Alyssa V.

Yelp
Picked up milk product that had been expired for DAYS. For a place as expensive as Sprouts, WHY do they have expired food on the shelves??? Especially expired raw milk. No refund offered or anything. If I could give 0 stars I would.
google avatar

Ana L.

Yelp
I shop here regularly because of employees like Georgeann. She's been my shopper for when I order pickup groceries almost every week. She's so kind and always makes each interaction special.

Alex O.

Yelp
Always love shopping at sprouts, everyone is very kind and helpful. The produce is fresh and clean, when I check out on register 1 Lusyana is always helpful and kind will definitely recommend for everyone that is looking or organic and healthy products.

Filippo C.

Yelp
Would give zero if possible. Very bad customer service. prices are never the one labeled, always 1-2 dollar higher "by mistake".
google avatar

Rhona G.

Yelp
Was in Daly City so I stopped by Sprouts off Gellert to pick up some grocery items. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. Going first in the morning once it opens, you'll find it's very well stocked. I like their selection of teas, especially the herbal teas. I appreciate their options for vegan items. Also, in the fall/autumn, are their pumpkin seasonal autumn items. I like getting vitamins at Sprouts too.

Alison C.

Yelp
This is a chaotic location with the customers and the staff all running around haphazardly everywhere without much courtesy to the other. Hardly any space to walk much more to push one's grocery cart. Furthermore, we went specifically to this location after checking online that they carried a particular item. Got there and the item was sold out. In fact, the shelves where the item would've been located showed that the similar products were mostly sold out; the shelves were almost bare. They seem to not restock items promptly. Clerk we asked seemed clueless too. The place is a zoo with a lot of items placed everywhere that the floor space is just like a maze making the store more frenzied and chaotic. Their prices are like a Mollie Stone's where normal items are overpriced. I did not realize that they charge cauliflower by the pound! Everywhere else it's by the piece. So one ends up double paying for the same item one could find elsewhere. I didn't find the produce to be any better despite the higher prices. And quite a few brand items could be found for less at the mass grocery stores.

Yelp
"Ninety-nine percent of the world's lovers are not with their first choice. That's what makes the jukebox play..." - Willie Nelson Sprouts has really grown on me. Okay, maybe not literally but it's a great spot I feel comfortable feeding my inner-hippie! I have come to be a regular at the location on Gellert Avenue in Daly City. Though I've come to accept that I'll never be Duke here due to Adrienne the Schnoodle's 244 check-ins lol. People like to say Sprouts Farmers Market is the love child of Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. In a way, but it does has its own Willie Nelson quirky personality. I do like the fresh bakery area - specifically where I'll grab a couple of Muffins, usually a choice of blueberry, orange-cranberry, pistachio, I've even came across a guava once, though not much guava was in it. If Muffins are sold out - I'll grab an apple or cherry Turnover. Bear claws I've had too, just not much bang for the buck with those. Bakery single prices are awesome too: $1.29 to $1.50-ish each! Sprouts is also a great spot for my Juices and Cold Teas. I especially love the pressed watermelon and just today got my fav pressed apple juice (52 oz.) that was cheaper than Target. I've purchased all types of Cold Teas here, so will usually see what's the best deal. Recently I went back several times for the Teavana BOGO (buy one/get one free) sale! I tend to be a groundhog in my routine - same stuff, same aisles. So can't really speak for the rest of the store, or as they like to say Farmers Market. Seems like the fresh fruit section is larger than Trader Joe's. Oh, I did pickup a bag of Sprouts brand Organic Pink Himalayan Sea Salt & Coconut Oil Popcorn - not as horrible as it sounds lol. They also have a deli too. Smoothies is on the menu. I have yet to experience the deli and might give it a try one day. In the end, I recommend Sprouts Farmers Market. I'm the groundhog that will immediately make a right to the baked goods. Then shuffle to the Cold Teas area, or the Juice area looking for the best deal. The employees tend to be blasé but hey I'm not there for a organic hot date. I also love the self-checkout too. I'm in and out in 5-minutes tops. Cheers to Willie Nelson!

Yelp
The shopper experience here has been great. I can always find items that I need. CSR's from front to back end are always helpful and if I can't find anything they always without hesitation go to the back to check to see if it's in stock. I also seen very very rude customers and privileged ones too. Be nice to the workers it looks like an easy job but it's not.

H S.

Yelp
Pretty good w/ selection if you have food allergies (unlike competitors) and want organic. I was disappointed they didn't carry larger boxed items and meat in family size packaging to save $ in bulk (except bin items can be bought in bulk but you don't save $). Made me think this store is more for single ppl or couples but not so economical for larger families maybe? Good selection and friendly employees. It's out of the way for me but I make the trip to this store for their yummy Koppers Chocolate Mint Chip Malt Balls!
google avatar

IM P.

Yelp
I like the prices of fruit & veggies. The condition of the produce is fresh & clean My favorites are the muffins & choice desserts And dinner meals & the deli. My "to-go-to" is the rotisserie chicken When i want organic make up, thats the fastest & closest place i go to when I'm in a hurry or its a last minute thing. My other favorites are the beet juice & ice cream bars

Yelp
Sprouts is alright. It goes by "farmers market," but it's not. It's a grocery store or I am not informed. I was looking for a work lunch snack and got a seafood salad. It's a grocery store with a bit of a gourmet side. It has a warm welcome. In Daly City.
google avatar

Bert K.

Yelp
it's a larger store and well lit. Good selection of quality veggies and quality meat. Tiny selection of vino. Customer service: fine. Tip: buy four bottles of wine, get 10% of all of your wine. Parking: ez

Yelp
This review is for the staff only. Especially those on register. Unprofessional and completely horrendous when it comes to empathy towards seniors. I go here all the time but yesterday I witnessed something that made me not want to come back. I was in a vitamin aisle. A senior woman walked into the bathroom and was clearly having issues with her stomach. During the span of her being there, maybe 20 minutes or so the staff would go inside and literally fly out within a second screaming "IT STINKS LIKE SHIT!!! OMG!!!".....I felt so bad for this woman! Can we not embarrass seniors like that???? It was clearly an emergency for the woman. Who wants to have that type of incident in a store....this is someone's grandmother and mother. I get it might have been an unpleasant situation to walk into but keep it professional for whoever that might be in there. Regardless of age. It's a bathroom for christ sakes, what are we in elementary school? What made it worse is that it was staff member after staff member that did this in the span of 20 minutes. Almost like one told the others and they just came by to inspect the situation, continuing to LOUDLY embarrass this poor elder lady. This behavior was disgusting is so many ways. Would they do this to a mother changing its babies diaper if it happened to be not a pleasant scenario as babies sometimes have? Then ones the woman went to the register because she clearly was embarrassed and wanted to leave as soon as possible the staff proceeded to speak about her in spanish like they thought no one else understood!!! Management needs to have a meeting about professionalism and harassment because that was clearly what this woman experienced here.

Yelp
Came here early on a Saturday morning. So happy they were open early I was able to get everything I needed for weekend breakfast. Lusy checked me out this morning. She was so friendly and warm. Helped me packed my groceries for me and made sure the bag was secure. I can tell She truly cared about putting my groceries away safely and even made sure to send me off by telling me to have a nice day and repeating my name back to me. That's how I could tell this special lady truly cares about her customers. Sprouts you truly lucky to have this gem working in your store! Thank you lusy! For helping make my day even brighter
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
I came here a couple times and even though they attract people with a few specials, prices are outrageous (about 20-30% more expensive than Wholefoods). What I also didn't like is that many items had no prices on them. I had to wait to be at the register to discover that the tart sold $6.99 everywhere else was $9.99 here. Finally, their mobile app doesn't work and keeps crashing at sign-up/sign-in. I really wanted to like this store but the price is just not worth it.
google avatar

Jessica T.

Yelp
Sprouts is quickly becoming a grocery store favorite (up there with Grocery Outlet). Their prices are fantastic and I love many of their Sprouts branded items - ranging from frozen fruit to supplements. They really have it all when it comes to accommodating different dietary needs and preferences and have a formidable selection of keto, paleo, vegan whole 30 etc items. I personally love grocery store shopping - but if you prefer to skip the aisle browsing - I highly recommend doing a pick-up order on Instacart. The Sprouts staff are wonderful and they will make sure that your order is processed and brought out to you quickly. Trust.

Yelp
Great for essential groceries. A good place to get meat and dry goods. Other things are not as good value. The deli has great selection. Customer service is good.
