Sprouts has really grown on me. Okay, maybe not literally but it's a great spot I feel comfortable feeding my inner-hippie! I have come to be a regular at the location on Gellert Avenue in Daly City. Though I've come to accept that I'll never be Duke here due to Adrienne the Schnoodle's 244 check-ins lol.
People like to say Sprouts Farmers Market is the love child of Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. In a way, but it does has its own Willie Nelson quirky personality. I do like the fresh bakery area - specifically where I'll grab a couple of Muffins, usually a choice of blueberry, orange-cranberry, pistachio, I've even came across a guava once, though not much guava was in it. If Muffins are sold out - I'll grab an apple or cherry Turnover. Bear claws I've had too, just not much bang for the buck with those. Bakery single prices are awesome too: $1.29 to $1.50-ish each!
Sprouts is also a great spot for my Juices and Cold Teas. I especially love the pressed watermelon and just today got my fav pressed apple juice (52 oz.) that was cheaper than Target. I've purchased all types of Cold Teas here, so will usually see what's the best deal. Recently I went back several times for the Teavana BOGO (buy one/get one free) sale!
I tend to be a groundhog in my routine - same stuff, same aisles. So can't really speak for the rest of the store, or as they like to say Farmers Market. Seems like the fresh fruit section is larger than Trader Joe's. Oh, I did pickup a bag of Sprouts brand Organic Pink Himalayan Sea Salt & Coconut Oil Popcorn - not as horrible as it sounds lol. They also have a deli too. Smoothies is on the menu. I have yet to experience the deli and might give it a try one day.
In the end, I recommend Sprouts Farmers Market. I'm the groundhog that will immediately make a right to the baked goods. Then shuffle to the Cold Teas area, or the Juice area looking for the best deal. The employees tend to be blasé but hey I'm not there for a organic hot date. I also love the self-checkout too. I'm in and out in 5-minutes tops. Cheers to Willie Nelson!
