Welcoming staff, nice interior but the paintings themselves - far from impressive, unfortunately. It’s a commercial gallery so the collections keep changing I believe, it’s worth visiting it when the new collection will become available.

Great gallery located in unique building. The lift inside the building was very classical and it is a good space for artworks to be exhibited

Pretty nice gallery. The same big names like everywhere else. Sherman, Judd etc etc The quality of exhibitions always very high, well prepared, well shown. The building itself is a wonderful masterpiece of architecture, so good choice Sprueth Magers

Very good Mayfair contemporary art gallery showing work from major international artists. Currently (March 2023), the gallery is displaying mainly video work by two artists: the late Gretchen Bender and Jon Rafman.

Yelp
Tucked away down a residential street based in the posiest end in MayFair, you're not likely to find this gallery without intending too. Due to fact you can only see this Gallery via apointment, only really go here if you actually want to buy something or your uncle is Charles Saatchi. But Nevertheless, obviously I am neither but I put of my furs and pearls for the occasion and telephoned them, for abit of 'art.' Buzzed in, and welcomed by a lovely curatorial assistant, I was free to roam the rooms and take in the floor to ceiling photography. I didn't bring myself to look at the prices, however i'm sure we don't need much of an imagination to know the cost. the Gallery showcases a range of solo exhibitions, from photographers, painters, sculptors and illustrators. Contact the gallery directly to know of un and coming shows.

Yelp
There is more than one way of approaching commercial galleries. If you are lucky enough to be a wealthy individual with money to spend on art, they act as specialist shops offering expert service and advice. But they are so much more, they complement public art galleries and museums with their exhibitions. Sprüth Magers is a particularly lovely example situated as it is in such a beautiful location. Not only do you get to see amazing art (they specialise in conceptual, minimalist and feminist art as well as photography), you get a rare chance to enter a perfectly preserved townhouse - the old-fashioned lifts alone are worth a visit, and pay attention to those beautifully worn wooden floors - for as close a feel of a past era you will ever get. The building itself is imposing and you certainly also get a sense of the owner's German heritage in that reception can be rather understated (isn't this meant to be a very British attribute?), but you won't be turned away and will be rewarded with a brief escape from the business buzz and designer consumerism dominating the neighbourhood. If, like me, you are fascinated by urban decay, industrial settings and black/white photography, then the current exhibition of Bernd and Hilla Becher is a must-see. They were last shown at the Tate - and you don't go there wondering how much each piece would cost - but rather to enjoy the displays for the art of it.
