What a neat spot. Cute, updated, so much to see in store for everyone. Specialty drinks, great food options, local beer and wine selection, food was great! Seating is outside. Cute location downtown.

It was our first time visiting Holderness, New Hampshire; and the marketplace came highly recommended by someone from the Central NH Chamber of Commerce. My son and I loved this store with such great choices of varied yummies, drinks, gifts, etc. We received amazing service from 'almost' everyone. One exceptional person was Michael with his down-to-earth, approachable, smiley demeanor conveying such joie de vi·vre. My kind of people. Yet, I also experienced the other end of the spectrum with Christine. She was insensitive, judgmental, and rude. Once, we placed an order which she seemed to struggle with my son's choice since he wanted his croissant only with bacon and cheese, and no egg as per customary. The other instance took place while Michael and I were in the midst of a fun and lively conversation while he was kindly grinding the coffee beans I had purchased from the store. Christine called out to him and firmly told him to take his lunch at that precise moment. Someone else had to come to his aid and finish grinding the beans - a service he was providing for a patron (me). I liken her 'rude demand' to being at a restaurant where one's server is told to stop mid-service and insistently pressed to go on their lunch break. Yes, again, insensitive and rude.

Google
A very convenient store to get food. They have sub, wraps, sandwiches, dessert, and ice cream... All fresh... A good place to stop by for breakfast to go.... Yes, you can have fresh hot coffee here. They also have wine selections here. A lot of parking spots and easy to access. A nice breakfast stop!!....

Google
We loved this place! We came all three days we were in the area! They have breakfast and lunch sandwiches, all are great! The ice cream sandwiches are amazing! They also have a coffee bar with full coffee menu and pastries which are incredible.

Google
What a hidden gem! We stopped in while we were staying on Squam Lake and we were thoroughly impressed. From beautiful gifts and trinkets to groceries to delicious sandwiches, salads, paninis, and prepared foods! They also have a great wine selection and DELICIOUS lattes and coffees and breakfast. If you’re in the area, you have to stop in. If you have kids, be sure to stop in for an ice cream cone! What a lovely and quaint spot! We adored it.

Google
After my wife and I hike the Whites we always make it a priority to stop here and grab some of the best paninis I've had in the state. Delicious food, amazing bakery items and coffee make it worth the trip.

Google
Do not recommend catering for their baked goods, terrible customer service. Ordered 12 cupcakes cause I remembered them being delicious, not only was the order half the wrong and I felt that I had to haggle and press to get even a 15% discount on their mistake, the cupcakes were cold and stale tasting. Not good at all. SO NOT worth the $38 they charged me for 12 cupcakes. They also offered up 2 extra cupcakes as good riddance and then tried to charge me for the extra! Definitely have a bad taste now for this spot.

Yelp
Excellent food, coffee and service! All the pastries were delicious and the sandwiches were amazing

Yelp
What a hidden gem! We completed our Rattle Snake hike and wanted to grab some lunch. I have driven by this place 1000's of times but never gone in. I am so glad we decided to go in. The sandwiches and salads were excellent!!!

Yelp
Good breakfast sandwiches, good lunch sandwiches, some basic groceries, coffee / tea / hot chocolate drinks, pastries, and a variety of souvenirs and cards for tourists. The food to-go is all made to order, and that's a good thing. I had several breakfasts and a few lunches. For a small New Hampshire town, the sandwiches were surprisingly good. There are a few things I would improve upon, but I'll be going back, either to get sandwiches for a hike or paddle, or breakfast on the way to an outing. For drinks I got Natalie's orange juice, hot chocolate, while my sister tended towards coffee or latté, all of which were good. For breakfast while I tried the BLT breakfast panini (it was good), I kept going back for the Breakfast sandwich with egg & sausage on a bagel (surprisingly, link sausage), adding tomato. Delicious. For lunch fare, I wish I'd tried the Cubano, but my favorites were the roast beef with horse radish, and the roast beef with boursin - they did roast beef well. The turkey club was alright, but not quite what I expected (not a double-decker sandwich, not hunks of fresh-sliced turkey (more like turkey from a slicer or deli-pack). If I could improve anything, it would be to use whole leaf lettuce (rather than ribbons of cut lettuce) in the sandwiches. As for the cards, decals, and souvenirs, I managed to pick up a few, more for sentimental reasons than as a tourist (I've been going to the area for decades, don't really need all the knick-knacks - but a card or two to send to friends and family, sure).

Yelp
The food here is excellent. Not cheap, but always good. I generally get takeout, but they now have indoor counter which is nice. The outdoor dining is very pleasant when the weather is good. The online ordering at their website is excellent, and you can Apple Pay. Food is ready when you get there.

Yelp
Amazing place!! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of things to shop from and reasonably priced souvenirs. Our family got drinks and food that were all delicious.

Yelp
We took a drive from New Durham to Holderness to visit the Squam Lake MarketPlace. What an interesting store this is - it offers a little bit of this and a little bit of that. They offer local and unique products from local craft beer, specialty coffee, extensive wine collection, all sorts of gifts from apparel to Squam memorabilia, all kinds of groceries, prepared meals, baked goods, salads and a deli stocked with everything you could want. They even do catering. Even better, Squam Lake is the only store that offers a dock for lake access, you can tie up your boat walk to the store. Does it get any better than this? I don't think so. Their winter hours are: Monday to Thursday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM - Friday to Sunday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Stop in, you will be glad that you did.

Yelp
We stopped in for sandwiches and left with SO much more! This place is the cutest and has it all- wine, cheese, crackers; baked goods and coffees; novelty tees and gifts. The staff was super friendly. I wish I got the name Of the girl who took our sandwich order and then checked us out- she had the best personality!! So kind and knowledgeable. When I couldn't decide my coffee flavor, she said "want me to surprise you?!" How personable?! Everything was delicious- we will be back!

Ian S.

Yelp
I don't have much to complain about. I got the BLT sandwich. It was actually particularly good for a BLT. It took upwards of 10 minutes to come out though but I understand that it may have just been busy. My only real COMPLAINT is that the person taking my order was chewing in my face. Like I understand people eat food while their working, but right in front of my face while your taking my order? It was a very cute marketplace though.

Amy M.

Yelp
Love their breakfast sandwiches and chicken salad! Also lots of cute local gifts and even some baby items.

Josh D.

Yelp
Great sandwiches and the customer service was excellent! We were in town for the weekend and decided to get lunch. We are very happy we did. This will be our spot next time we are in the area.

Kim J.

Yelp
Our go to spot for a sandwich, pastries or something to throw on the grill. Have enjoyed their catered dishes at a local wedding as well. Top notch!

Cynthia O.

Yelp
This place has the best to go meals! We just had their gluten-free meatloaf with mashed potatoes last night and they were delicious! The best I've ever had!

Christen E.

Yelp
Strong curb appeal along with the amazing food choices!! Whether your GF/DF/LCI. many delicious choices. Won't disappoint!

Yelp
I absolutely love this store! This is my favorite place to stop after a hike because they have the best sandwiches, prepared goods, ice cream, baked goods, and fudge. They have a lot of unique merchandise as well. I highly recommend stopping in. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Great oat milk latte. Tasty pastries. Get your groceries, wine/beer, and local gifts here too.

Yelp
We love the Squam Lake MarketPlace! Its a quintessential market that has a wide variety of supplies to choose from. As someone who has a lot of food sensitivities, this place does not let you down. They have a lot of healthier options, as well as a gluten free section as well. Not only do they have just about any food you would need, they also have a phenomenal drink section. They have a variety of great craft beers and an expansive wine selection too. Aside from these two beverages, they also have a great coffee menu. I would even argue they have the best coffee in the lakes region. Overall awesome establishment, with even better employees.

David G.

Yelp
Great spot to pick up a sandwich while touring around Squam Lake. The roast beef & horsey sauce was awesome, best sandwich I have had in a while! My wife enjoyed the turkey avocado. Great ingredients and well constructed! Friendly service as well.

Donald C.

Yelp
Cute shop with food, drinks, sandwiches, and treats. All high end stuff. The sandwiches are amazing but plan to wait some. The sweets are very tasty as well. One stop shop for all your needs. Can get very busy during the peak summer months.
google avatar

Alisa A.

Yelp
Love this market!! The food is awesome, great beer selection, fun treats, a full coffee bar... I wish every little town had a market like this. It's definitely high end and "yuppy" but the staff is very friendly and down to earth and, well, yuppies like good food! We always stop to get beer when we're starting vacation and we grab egg sandwiches on our way home from vacation.
google avatar

Michele G.

Yelp
If you're looking for a delicious sandwich for lunch, this is the place to go. We had amazing paninis, and everything else we saw looked great as well. It was busy, but everyone on staff took orders at their respective registers as well as at the window and our wait wasn't too long at all. This place has lots to offer, we can't wait to come back!
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
The best food and friendly service. Their macaroni salad is the best. Also avocado toast with egg. Very yummy.
google avatar

Yelp
You haven't experienced the real lake life on Squam until you've been to the Squam Lake Marketplace! I recommend calling ahead to pick up your sandwiches. Picking up from the lake? Dock your boat at the Squam Lake Marketplace dock next to Asquam Marina and walk up the trail to the parking lot window. They have everything you need for an awesome boat day on Squam and weekend at the lake. Tons of gluten-free options too!! Love this place!!!
google avatar

Mike E.

Yelp
One stop for great food, local beer and wine, coffee, groceries, and about anything else you might need for your trip. Breakfast sandwiches were outstanding. Wish every vacation town had a place like this nearby!

Nicole M.

Yelp
The items they sell are amazing. Great variety and well-crafted gift items that make it a pleasure to go there. The ice cream sandwiches are the best in the world. All of the staff are friendly, helpful and consistently cheerful.

Rachel R.

Yelp
This place has the BEST cookies, ice cream sandwiches, and great squam merchandise and home decor items. Definitely a gourmet market, Expect prices to reflect that. But trust it's worth the money. The cookies however are only $1 and the best damn things I've tasted. The sandwiches are delicious and perfect to bring on the five fingers point trail and eat on the jumping rock, or a boating picnic excursion. Go here y'all it will NOT disappoint!

Yelp
My second time to the Market and another wonderful experience. After finishing a winter hike, we were ready for something warm and filling. Their pumpkin soup was all that and more. The creamy, savory soup was full of tart apple and cranberry pieces. So good and so creative. I will not be able to pass them by without stopping in for another tasty treat!
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
Sandwiches were delicious (and pretty!), staff was friendly, and they serve Cafe Monte Alto coffee! Had lots of interesting wares as well, though my group only really went in for food. My only complaint is that there isn't a public restroom, which I would expect of anywhere that sells food and/or drink. Will probably be our go-to place from now on when we're in the area!
google avatar

Mandy G.

Yelp
Food is excellent. But you really need to call in your order during the summer. They are swamped and you have to wait over 30 minutes for a sandwich but if you call it in they give you a time and it is usually ready. Very fresh food!

Alice K.

Yelp
Customer service is completely lacking. I walked in this evening, started to fill my cart and nature unexpectedly called. I stopped by the cashier and asked if I could use the rest room. Nope! It's for employees only. I may not look like a Real Houswife but I don't exactly look like a transient. Suffice it to say nature didn't wait. Thanks for the compassion! It's not always about what products you have. Sometimes it really is about customer experience.

Yelp
I lloovvee this place. Anytime of the day - I am happy to take a stroll up to this wonderful little store. Their coffee bar is delicious and they make a beautiful latte (with almond milk or dairy milk). The sandwich and salads are all so good! Try their chicken salad, you won't be disappointed. They also carry a variety of baked goods - both gluten full and gluten free and they are delicious! We have tried pretty much everything they have ever offered and have never been disappointed. Want a paper? They have it. Gifts for the family? It's there. Wine? Food? Produce? Meat? Cider? Frozen goods? They have a little bit of everything and everything is high quality.

Yelp
apple cider donuts & Peruvian coffee so amazing ...had to come back a second day ...and OMG the best peanut butter chocolate chip cookie I've evah had

Yelp
This place is amazing! The sandwiches were fantastic. I love sliced meat between sliced bread, (particularly in hoagie form) and that was one of the best hoagies I've had outside of NY or Philly. The bun was fresh and soft and sliced properly on one side like a hoagie should be with the standard three types o meat and veggies dressed with a nice Italian dressing, salt n pepper. Legitamate! Another perk about this place is the girl at the front counter. She's the bee's knees! She likes trucker hats, mint ice cream, she whistles while she works with a smile that will brighten up your day and if she ever comes out to Oakland CA, I hope she looks me up!

Yelp
We wanted some food after our day at science center but didn't want Burger King. We saw it and stopped because a lot of people seem to be there. It was pretty pricey for sandwiches and that's it. However my chicken pesto was good and I liked it. However I do wish it would of included more. My bf got turkey Reuben and he liked it. My daughter got the blt and liked it. I would be back but probably split a sandwich

Lisa M.

Yelp
Happy to find this gem on our way to a nearby hike! Great breakfast sandwiches. Good coffee. Delicious donuts. Cool kitchenware and housewares - great for gifts. I love this little store. We went out of our way to go back the next day because we loved it so much.

Sue S.

Yelp
Stopped here more than once while on vacation. The food was to die for! Anything from the bakery was absolutely delicious and the sandwiches and soup (which is all made to order) was wonderful. The cream of mushroom soup was especially good! The cookies are $1.00 a piece but well worth it. Don't miss this place if you are ever in Holderness NH!!!

Michael B.

Yelp
Excellent sandwiches!!! Friendly staff, always pleasant. Lots of local charm and flair with many local goods. My favorite sandwich is the Turkey Club. I get it without the avocado but with extra mayo . The sourdough bread they have for this sandwich is delicious and is toasted picture-perfect EVERY time! It looks like a ad photo for the place! Worth the trip to visit, highly recommended!
google avatar

Lenny S.

Yelp
This is a Gold Mine find. Every town should have a combo general store, cafe, beer/wine, coffee house like this place. Fun spot, good coffee, try a snickerdoodle cookie and the pastries. To die for! Was told the sandwiches were stellar, saw them but we were just there for a quick cafe stop. I'd go back again and again. So much to see and check out....
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
Stopped in for check it out and thought 1) such a good breakfast sandwich, they actually toast the bagel!! 2) delicious ice coffee, even the ice cubes are made from coffee - nice attention to detail 3) great other stuff from sauces to shirts to beer. Living in Boston the prices here were even slightly less.

Michelle E.

Yelp
This is a cool market where you can get breakfast and lunch, wine, cheese, baked goods, and a small variety of other food and drink items. They also sell some gift/souvenirs. Glad I made the stop and I would definitely return if I'm in the area again.

Sandy W.

Yelp
This is pretty awesome little market. Plenty of unique items to choose from. The ice cream and food looked good and they have a nice wine selection.

Anna K.

Yelp
Wonderful surprise! We stopped in for a sandwich; could not resist dessert. But I am writing to compliment them for creating a superbly prepared sandwich--everything was fresh, generously proportioned and thoughtfully prepared. People who do this deserve accolades these days,. So thank you so much Squam Lake Marketplace for doing what you do so well, and putting soul into your food. By the way the brownie was five-stars-plus.
google avatar

K M.

Yelp
Love the hot Black and Blue Chicken sandwich. Big enough for 2!!

Peter T.

Yelp
OMG this place is amazing!! Let me tell you all about it. There's this really really great employee that works in the back. Makes the BEST sandwiches. Her name is Emma or something like that. You gotta try her turkey club, it's simply amazing.

A. G.

Yelp
We wanted some fresh food for lunch before our hike up a mountain, and this seemed to be one of the only places in town, so we stopped the see if they had anything good. The menu listed a hummus wrap with veggies and cheese, but I don't eat cheese, so I asked if they could add extra avocado or something instead and the woman at the register said, "don't worry, they'll make it delicious." How could they go wrong? Well, I'll tell you. The wrap was, by volume, about 85% romaine lettuce, 5% other random vegetables, 5% unripe (rock hard) avocado, and 5% hummus. It had no sauce or anything besides the tiny amount of hummus, so it was incredibly bland. Let's be honest, it was a tortilla filled with lettuce. And we had ordered two, so we basically just spent $18 on lettuce. It's really not that hard to make a tasty hummus wrap. Put some hummus in it.

Joseph A.

Yelp
This place has gourmet food compared to the other options in the area. It's a little bit more expensive - but the quality is much better. The deli is great, all the snacks are good. It's a bit pricey when you are buying a for a lot if people which makes me look at other options. Would suggest group discounts in this respect. 5th Sandwich free etc.

Kim K.

Yelp
Stopped in at the suggestion of neighboring marina and have to say we were pleasantly surprised. Our server Iaziaha was very helpful and provided us with a great customer service experience. They have something for everyone and the food is fresh.

S. H.

Yelp
Stopped in to get a couple of sandwiches and drinks. A little pricey, but REALLY good stuff, so were were happy to patronize this cute establishment. We'd been on the road for a couple of hours and were very hungry. We paid for the two sandwiches and drinks, a bill of over $20. I then asked if I could use the restroom. I was abruptly told "We don't have a restroom, but you could try the library across the street." What? Of course you DO have a restroom (and an entire vacation rental upstairs), so it is not honest that you "don't have a restroom". I can see that you don't want to provide restrooms for non-paying customers, but I had just paid over $20 for a couple of sandwiches and drinks. Providing a restroom for customers is an expense, I get it. But to send me across the street to the public library so that THEY bear the expense? I just patronized YOUR business, but you want the cost of appropriate customer service to be borne by the Town taxpayers? Really? How about allowing genuine customers to use a restroom, be honest and provide real customer service along with the oh-so-cute store. There's a nice sandwich place up the road. They are really friendly and have an outhouse and patio.

Yanni D.

Yelp
Great place, friendly staff and unbelievable sandwiches and home made ice cream sandwiches! Great place
