Square One Brewery & Distillery

This place is such a neighborhood gem, especially if you're looking for delicious eats at sensible prices. I'm not a regular per se but have been here enough times to vouch for their consistency in flavorful dishes like the burger, the salads, and especially their pan-seared salmon with parsely butter, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans! This pic is from lunch and I tried the Orange Fury, a drink inspired by local artist. It was refreshing but the salmon is the real standout at Square One!

Nikki at the bar does an amazing job! I highly recommend the the Southern Belle, the Blueberry Urban Bourbon, has great flavor. The wife and I split a pretzel & the BLT Salad. The Scottish Egg with the mustard is a must try.

Had a great experience attending the Association of Women and Science (AWIS) St. Louis chapter happy hour at Square One Brewery. The staff was incredibly accommodating to our group, and the setting was perfect for casual networking—relaxed, welcoming, and full of charm. The food and drinks were excellent, with something for everyone, and the overall atmosphere made it easy to connect and unwind. We were on a road trip and stopped in St. Louis for the night. Someone in our party found this place and it looked good so we decided to stop in. Arrived at about 6:30 PM on a Friday and they were a little busy but we managed to get a table. Our waitress was nice and gave some great menu suggestions. We started with the pretzels, scotch egg, and house made chips as an appetizer. All of that was fantastic! I shared the Bacon Brat Smashburger and fries as my entree. Overall, I was impressed! The burger was cooked to perfection and the fries were fried fresh and tasted great! Overall, if you’re in Lafayette Square looking for a good spot, give Square One a shot! If I’m back in St. Louis, I’ll come back!

The Philly is the way to go. The meat was so good! The bread pudding was fantastic! Easy going vibe. Sat outside on the patio. Good service

Brought a group of 8 in for a birthday dinner, and the staff really went above and beyond to accommodate a short-notice reservation for us! Unfortunately I don’t remember our server’s name, but she was phenomenal as well. Food was fantastic, our waters were always filled, and finished dishes didn’t sit around long. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

We came in around 4pm and all the tables were in the same area. There was an unused area in the back at the time we went - it was a bit loud with all of the tables seated in the same area. The service was okay. The food was average - I ordered a burger medium well and it came out a little closer to mid rare in my opinion.

Had a fantastic time. The place has a very nice vibe. I love the pub atmosphere and the location. I enjoyed the seating and the wait staff was nice as well as attentive. The food was very tasty. I am just not a pub food fan due to illness with dietary restrictions. But, I will definitely go back as it was a great time and I did find a very satisfying meal! The photos are of a special salad (off menu) they made me, garden salad with seasoned grilled chicken with avocados. And I had a piece of my husband's cod from his very ample fish and chips platter. It was most enjoyable. Our friends had a Reubens and the beef barley soup. Both loved it as well!
