Square René Viviani

Came here for the Christmas market as it is one of the most authentic ones around with good and food all made in France. Be prepared for crowds as this is a very busy and thriving market. You'll find the vendors to be both helpful and friendly selling some very nice artisan crafts. It's a Stones throw from Notre Dame Cathedral and beautifully decorated for the season.

Lovely little park just down from Shakespeare and Company bookstore and with a view of Notre Dame. This spot is only a quick walk from many excellent shops, restaurants, and bars. The park has a wonderful Christmas market as well with several creative vendors and booths for food and drinks.

It is a very peaceful park, perfect for taking breaks or resting. It has many benches, plenty of nice shade, and a perfect number of trash bins.

a quiet hideaway from the craziness of around notre dame. the park has a beautiful view of notre dame and plenty of benches, many of which are in the shade. (which was perfect because paris was hot when i visited!)

Magical Place. I saw this place and immediately got connected. I was looking for the Notre Dame Paris and the Abbey Bookshop, and by chance found this little park. I was so impressed by the churches around, the way this place is preserved and how great this tree looks. I even took a couple of leaves laying on the floor just to have it as a token. The place is really quiet even though it is around a very concurred area. Take at least 30 minutes to enjoy this place.

Very restful and pleasant park, if you walk around you will discover the oldest tree in Paris, a quizzical metal fountain, lovely flowers and roses...:) and a memorial to deported Jewish children to Auschwitz :(

The Square René Viviani is a delightful park to sit and rest. The park has several trees for shade as well as the oldest tree in Paris, originally from Louisiana. The view and sound from Notre Dame Cathedral are very nice as are the sculptures and flowers gardens. Lots of seating is available.

Wonderful park! One thing tho… it’s too full of dirt. I get that the ground is made out of dirt, but it’d be way better if it weren’t and just out of cobblestone instead. It’s rather unpleasant.

This is a charming little park in a five-star location. Unfortunately, as far as parks go... This is about as small as it gets. It had a strange central sculpture that I felt dismissive about. I didn't bother looking for a plate engraved with any description or credit for it. It just looked kind of ugly... Sorry, that's just how it came across. Other than that, it was very well kept... Located in an extremely valuable spot. Ok... So why did it get three stars? I'd say it probably would be struggling to earn two stars if not for the photo hotspot presented by the arcs of roses in circling the central sculpture. Yeah we were touristy in shooting pictures under those arcs. Yeah the flowers kicked it up a notch from a solid two... Into barely three stars. I should probably take it down a notch back to two but... We can leave it at 3.

This postage stamp-size park is great. Flowers all around the circle. Not crowded. A relaxing spot.
