Square Townhouse

I recently enjoyed a wonderfully restful weekend at The Square Townhouse while visiting my daughter at Brighton University, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. This boutique hotel is truly one of the most unique and memorable places I’ve stayed. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful—going out of their way to assist when I’d forgotten both my phone charger and umbrella. Their kindness set the tone for a stay that felt genuinely cared for. My room was immaculate, with a supremely comfortable bed dressed in luxurious linens that made for the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages. Waking up to the sight of waves from my bed while sipping morning tea was pure bliss. But the real showstopper? Breakfast. It was nothing short of outstanding—especially the reinvented eggs Florentine, which were a delicious and creative twist on a classic. Worth a visit for the breakfast alone! Also within walking distance of all that Brighton has to offer! I highly recommend

This was our first stay in Brighton and booked last minute on the strength of TripAdvisor reports. We were not disappointed! James made us incredibly welcome on arrival and helped us entertain our friends who we were meeting at the hotel to complementary coffees and teas on arrival, which was a really nice touch. The room (we had a superior sea view) is elegant and well laid out with a lovely bathroom and comfortable bed. The location is amazing so close to all the towns many attractions on foot. Parking in the square was fine although we came in Sept on a weekday - I’m guessing it’d be harder in peak Summer months.||Bravo, great job and we will be back!

I booked the Hemsley Suite for my husband’s birthday and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff were fantastic and James was especially helpful. The suite itself was very opulent and on a completely different level from any other suite we’ve stayed in. The breakfast was always something to look forward to! Just want to say a big thank you to all the staff who made our stay and my husband’s birthday a very enjoyable and unforgettable experience and we will definitely come back again.

If you want a quiet hotel without the hustle and bustle of a chain this hotel is the one. Nicely situated near the sea front, rooms although small very cosy and nice touch of water and milk in fridge for your early morning cuppa. Bathroom immaculate. |Breakfast cooked to order and very good. |No lift so a bit of a climb so maybe ask for an accessible room if fitness not so good.

This beautiful, boutique hotel is very special. Our room was elegant and the bed was super comfy. We had delicious cocktails in the evening and an equally wonderful breakfast I. The morning. Such great service makes this hotel in a perfect Brighton location a real gem.

Immaculately clean throughout. Staff incredibly friendly, delivering excellent service.|Bed sooo comfortable. Breakfast legendary. In room extras (large bottles of water, plenty of fresh milk) much appreciated. Our first stay, will not be our last. Can thoroughly recommend without hesitation.

From start to finish this boutique was amazing. The team could not have done enough for us and every detail was perfect. The décor is beautiful and stylish, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The entire place is spotless and maintained to an exceptionally high standard. Everything feels thoughtfully designed and of the highest quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely return without hesitation.
