Sr. Fado

Sr Fado was absolutely amazing! Made a birthday extra special! Food was amazing and the drinks were even better! Thank you to all the staff and the musicians for an amazing evening! Service from Amna was amazing, she catered to all of our needs! Would definitely recommend and come back!

This restaurant offers a delicious meal and fantastic live Fado music in a charmingly intimate venue, in the heart of Alfama, the birthplace of Fado. A set fee, usually around €50 per person covers a wonderfully indulgent three-course meal, drinks and coffee. The restaurant staff could not be more friendly or helpful. Their attention to detail is second to none. Once seated you are treated to an appetiser plate with a selection of delicious regional cheeses cold meats, octopus salad, dips and artisanal bread. You typically have a choice of two options for main course. We chose one of each - a sumptuous seafood stew and separately a pork stew with clams. The pork was slowly cooked for several hours and was ‘melt in the mouth’ tender. Each guest gets half a litre of wine as standard. Then after the main course, the show starts! Typically a singer and two musicians introduce themselves and play a selection of beautiful songs. The singer explains the history of this wonderful music and keeps the energy up with muscular and beautiful singing, accompanied by the delicate sound of the 12-string Portuguese guitar. I have visited this restaurant twice this year, once in Summer and once just ahead of Christmas. Both visits were incredibly enjoyable.

What an amazing night out! Everything from the amazing service, to the heartfelt music, to the delicious food was wonderful. I can't recommend them enough!!!

Dinner for three people. A wonderful place, with a great atmosphere. Delicious wine, commitment and openness of the service at the highest level. Delicious dinner, seafood dishes and meat were good. In addition, the history and music of fado was a great experience. And once again a great wine

Incredible. We went here on our first night in Lisbon and the entire experience was so much better than we could have expected! Flawless service, delicious food (massive portions!), more than enough drink and the Fado artists were just phenomenal, so talented and unique. So glad that this was our first experience of Fado and Portuguese hospitality, a beautiful memory we will cherish forever.

Fantastic night in Lisbon. The food was excellent, as was the service and the Fado group were superb. As well as singing Fado, the female singer gave a fascinating insight into the roots and traditions that formed Fado in English. The food and drinks keep coming (we probably could have had more wine if we asked) and it's a fixed price menu. The hospitality was superb. I did pay EUR320 for 6 of us so £50 each (ish), but it's a full on meal; mystery starters, starters, huge main, amazing dessert, coffee, dessert wine then some kind of paint stripper alcohol.

We had a wonderful evening here, the food can stand on its own. We had both the pork and seafood catalan, both were phenomenal! The owner and staff were extremely warm, kind and attentive. We so enjoyed the Fado show and feel we had a very authentic experience. Can’t say enough good things about this place!

Me and my wife were for the first time in Lisbon, Portugal. We love Fado so we decided to visit live Fado. “Sr. Fado” was recommended from our host. We booked a table first one night. The price was 53€ for a person. The restorant is in the hearth of Alfama (the birth place of Fado). The host and stuff were very polite. Food was delicious and too much for two people. Salads, appetizers and bread, desserts. Main course was fish food. Delicious! Wine and beer - it kept coming and coming until you say stop. At the end of the dinner the singers of Fado started. They told us the story of Fado, about instruments (guitar and Portuguese guitar), about lyrics. Everything. The voice of the Fado lady singer was magnificent. We were very lucky, cause the guitar player has a Birthday and we were part of his celebration. Even he shared his cake with us - clients! It was night I will remember. I am totally recommend the restorant.
