Sri Trat Restaurant and Bar

This was our last dinner before flying home tomorrow, we got to know this place, Chef Pam from Potong recommended in one of her videos, so here we are. As usual we stick to one meat, one seafood one vegetable. The Trat’s famous sweet n sour pork belly stew w/ Chamuang leaves were superb and paired well with rice. We also picked the stir fried lump crabmeat w/sweet yellow chilli green bean and also the seabass deep fried with salt n pepper was also awesome. Overall enjoyable meal, the menu is extensive and I’m sure each dish is special.

I recently had dinner at this Thai spot and it was a great experience. The atmosphere is calming, yet vibrant enough to match the bold flavours of their dishes. All dishes tasted nice, particularly the prawn tom yum and crab omelette, both of which were solid choices. The tom yum had that perfect balance of spicy and sour, with succulent prawns that added to the delight. The deep-fried fish was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavour.

I ran into this place because it is near my buddy’s place that just moved there. Lo and behold, it is an absolute jewel. Beautiful decor, top notch service and the food was amazing. This place tends to push the limits of thai taste and I mean in the fermented side. This is actually what it’s known for and a top rec of a foodie friend of mine who knows BKK well. A must visit! And I heard it’s a place for some cool local peeps as well. Enjoy!

Amazing dinner here and I love the story of the woman chef/owner wanting to bring her eastern Thai cuisine to the big city. I had the barracuda salad with peanut dressing - wow! And the noodles with soft shell crab. Both delicious.

I recently dined at Sri Trat Restaurant and Bar, and it was a fantastic experience. For my meal, I ordered the red curry with leaves and pork belly, which was rich and flavorful with authentic eastern Thai spices. As appetizers, I enjoyed the fresh salad and tiger prawns — both were refreshing and delicious, showcasing quality ingredients. I paired these with the red rice, which complemented the curry perfectly with its nutty texture. To end the meal on a sweet note, we had the dumplings in coconut milk for dessert. They were delicately sweet with a creamy coconut flavor that felt just right after the savory dishes. Overall, the food was true to the traditional flavors of the Trat region, and every dish was prepared with precision and care. This place is a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience authentic Thai eastern cuisine in Bangkok with excellent service and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Feb 2026 Well deserving it's Michelin recognition. Table next to me said they served the food faster than McDonald's served its meals and it's true! Food arrived in less than 6 mins from when we placed order and the restaurant was having a busy night! Food options are not what you will usually find in a Thai restaurant. A definite must try BUT do remember to make bookings! I saw 3 tables being turned away as they didn't have any bookings.

We were initially turned down because we didn’t have a reservation. Asked if we could sit at the bar (they did not offer) and they said yes! We were so happy because we walked 20+ minutes to get some authentic Thai food in a touristy area. Absolutely delicious food, a little on the sweeter side but the food was very traditional Thai food style. The cocktails were strong and excellent and they had wine from Khao Yai which was very cool for me to try!
