A friend recommended this place. The old building/tavern is stunning then you pass out to the back deck and have amazing views from the mountains down to the sea. We dined outside due to good weather and enjoyed nice meals. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Inside diners enjoyed the wood fire and views through the glass windows.

Where else would you go to adore Saint Bernards? Lovely cozy warm spots inside to sit by the fire. Or go outside and enjoy the view. Excellent food and large variety of drinks. Great spot to take interstate or international visitors!

A fantastic venue especially if the weather is fine to enable you to sit on the balcony to take in the majestic view. The food is great. I ate the lamb rump which was tender and my husband had the rump steak which was also tender. The kookaburras had our attention for a while as they swooped on empty tables and enjoyed their scraps.

If heaven had a waiting room, I’m convinced it would look like St Bernard’s Hotel. The views? Ridiculously stunning. Standing on that deck, looking out at the mountains, I half expected a choir of angels to start singing. The fireplace inside is the kind of warm that hugs you all the way to your bones. It’s as if the place was designed by someone who deeply understands that life’s better when there’s firelight and breathtaking views. And the dogs. Oh, the dogs. My daughter is dog-obsessed, and this was her dream come true. Those giant, fluffy St Bernards might actually be earth angels disguised as dogs. She’s still talking about them, like she met celebrities. Honestly, they’re cuter than any celebrity I’ve ever seen. We’ve been to this region hundreds of times, yet somehow never stumbled across this gem. It’s well worth the visit, the kind of place that fills your cup and makes you feel human again. To the owners: I don’t know what deal you made with the universe to get views this heavenly, but thank you for sharing them with the rest of us. If your soul needs a top-up, this is where you go. Grateful doesn’t even cover it.

Longest wait time for sub par food and disrespectful staff. I would recommend arriving two hours before you intend to have your meal so you don’t get hungry waiting. Went for lunch and while the view was fantastic, the experience was dampened by the lack of professionalism from the staff and long wait times for food. We waited over an hour before we got our lunch and once it arrived it was dropped onto the table without an apology for the long wait time. The food was also cold and nothing too special. The tables were all reserved but remained empty and we had to chase someone down to clean our table. It would have been a better experience if the staff were friendlier. I personally will not be going back.

This place is iconic but I have not eaten at the restaurant for at least 10 years and everything is just the way I remember which is incredible. Great food, beautiful views, cosy fireplaces, gorgeous dogs and that rustic feel. Remember to book it is very busy though. Now I know that it is difficult to be perfect but it did loose a star for honesty. Although printed on the menu is 15% surcharge on Sundays and public holidays which is in there rights to do to cover costs in wages but this was a Saturday and not just a coincidence as I waited to confirm with the next guests order and that also displayed surcharge on the screen.

Lovely atmosphere pub! Great food on a cold and rainy night. Had my birthday dinner here - really felt special with the choice of menu and the staff were lovely.

Google
Horrible service and complete disrespect for customers We visited Saint Bernard Restaurant in Tamborine Mountain and had an awful experience from beginning to end. We were a group of friends, and when we placed our orders, the young blonde waitress didn’t repeat anything back to confirm. We trusted that she got it right, but clearly she didn’t. Later we found out we had been charged for the most expensive dishes on the menu, even though we had ordered something completely different. When the food and drinks started arriving, we noticed multiple mistakes – wrong dishes, wrong coffee sizes – and every time we tried to say something, the waitress got visibly angry, made rude faces, slammed doors, and treated us as if we were the ones who made a mistake, when it was clearly their fault. Her attitude was aggressive and completely unprofessional. We asked to speak to the manager, but unfortunately, she was just as rude and unhelpful. She refused to correct anything and simply said we had to accept what was brought and what was charged – even though it was clearly not what we ordered. The entire experience felt disrespectful and even xenophobic, as we are international visitors and were made to feel very unwelcome. This restaurant has no sense of customer service and no interest in treating people fairly. We do not recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
After a long day of driving and exploring nature, we decided to wet our whistles and stop at this special place. It's a hotel that reminded me of Germany from the parking lot side. Inside you quickly see the namesake St Bernard dogs who own the joint, which their own room and freedom to roam around. Inside it felt like a traditional British style pub with a good selection of beer and food. We only got drinks out, with the real draw being the patio out back that overlooks the mountains and valleys beyond. There were paths below and gardens with flowers too. Clearly this is the most popular area as they had lots of tables of varying sizes and many happy parties enjoying the view too. There were also many amazing birds flying around and perching on the railings. If you're nearby, this is a great spot. I'm sure it'd be fun to stay at the hotel too.

Yelp
Great place! Friendly staff and beautiful views. Menu offers many options. I had the Guinness meat pie and it did not disappoint.

Yelp
I really am a fan of this place. Whilst visiting the Gold Coast for the Easter Break (2015) we came across St. Bernard's by chance when we were desperately looking for a late lunch. The truly inviting and imposing entrance gets you wondering what is behind the front doors to the big white building. The gardens are lush and green and covered in vehicles parking anywhere. Through the entrance you enter a rich room of lounges, tables and chairs with white wales with chocolate trimmings - this place is so European Old School. Then through the main 'gathering and lounging' area you walk out onto a big alfresco area which is spacious and boasts one of the most outstanding views (for a beer garden) in Australia. You see a massive valley which sweeps to the right and right out to the sea behind Surfers Paradise. How can this place be - something so fabulous, real and sincere so close to the neon trash and tourism tacky that is Surfer's Paradise? Who cares! We are here, we have a table outside, the weather is sensational and the kitchen is open. The restaurant footprint for this place is massive. You keep finding rooms (and marquess) with tables. The menu is simple comfort food and done well. The perfect menu for everyone, especially kids and the less adventurous diners. Considering the time of year and the numbers of tourists, our food came out at a reasonable time. There are a couple of things I might gripe about St. Bernards - the outside dining area needs to have to ground redone so it is level, car parking was a bit hap-hazard (but this might have been down to the season) plus the dessert were a bit sad, but this too was because it was Easter Monday and their would not have been many supplier working. I can not wait to come back ..... at any time of the year.

Yelp
On a day trip out of Brisbane recently, a friend and I came across this cute Germanic-looking hotel and restaurant, a perfect spot for lunch. I can't comment on the accommodation, but the restaurant puts on a good fare, the atmosphere is nice and the gardens full of colour. Meal sizes are pretty big, but the prices are a bit hefty. I had the Petite Filet Mignon ($28.50) and my friend had the Fish and Chips ($21.50). Both were delicious. After we'd finished eating and relaxing in the garden, we went off exploring some of the walking paths that lead off from the hotel. One path goes to a waterfall, but it's a bit disappointing. There's barricading around it and it all looks a bit man-made. Best to go in search of other waterfalls on Mt Tamborine, of which there are several. St Bernards restaurant is a lovely destination for day-trippers from Brisbane, but if I went again, I'd look for something a little cheaper.

Yelp
Upon arrival we where greeted by a massive St Bernard dog asleep on the front porch. It didn't move much during our stay. On entering the hotel it was like entering a medieval pub, wood carved tables and chairs. It was clean and had a charming feel about it, including a wood fire place. And the scenery fantastic , upon looking at menu it was expensive , but hey, who minds if the view is this good, and there is ambience . My daughter had the steak burger and I had the chicken burger . Compared the price with what we received and the burgers where worth every cent we left full, this place is really worth a look. The service was prompt and efficient , and beer cold.

Yelp
Stunning views, icy cold beer & huge portions of tasty food. And let's not forget the adorable Leo. Well worth checking it out after a day of hiking around Mount Tambourine.

Yelp
It's lovely here. We ate a delicious meal, stayed the night and enjoyed breakfast and walks through the rainforest. The old fashioned hospitality was matched by the charm of being in the old world hotel, which was like stepping back in time 100 years. You'll pay a bit more to eat and stay on one of our most beautiful mountains, but it's worth it and I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
A very ordinary meal. As visitors from out of town we were recommended to eat here. The meal was dreadful with over cooked fish that was hard. The meal was something I would not expect to receive anywhere, let alone a place like this.
