St Brelade's Bay Hotel

Upon our arrival we were greeted by Stephen (the head porter), our bags were taken from us and we were offered a chilled glass of orange juice whilst we were checked in. We made our way up to our room (86 - sea view balcony) and our bags were only a minute or two behind us. Our room was just large enough, the king-sized bed was really comfortable, the bathroom was fab, and the balcony had the best view of St Brelade's bay just over the road. We walked on the beach and then swam in the sea or outdoor pool every morning, the pool opened at 8:00 and had towels and adjoining changing facilities. The gym/indoor pool opened at 6:00, and whilst it was all fab we preferred being outdoors. Breakfast was spot on, we had a great self-service choice and could also order from a good selection - I ordered omelettes and vegetarian sausages most mornings. The waiting staff were among the most professional I've ever met (Hilary was our favourite - he was always smiling) and our greeter Leo was just the nicest chap ever (he's worked there for sixty years...). We only ate dinner in the hotel once, as there is a great selection of restaurants within easy walking distance, and it was excellent - but a couple of vegan, and a few more vegetarian dishes, would be a great addition. As with most top hotels it's the amazing staff that make it such a great place (nothing was too much trouble for them and it was obvious that they all love what they do), along with the top location obviously. The service is professional, whilst the whole place has such a relaxed atmosphere - no need to wear long trousers and a tie for dining if you don't want to. It appears that most of the guests are regulars and I can fully understand why, we are already considering a return trip.

The staff were warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was perfect with a really comfortable bed . The view over the bay is spectacular. |The dining room and service is exceptional with a wide ranging choice of food daily. Staff are knowledgeable about allergy requirements and are extremely helpful in this area. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained and cared for. A most beautiful place to stay.

Amazing hotel, with stunning views across the bay. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Great outdoor pool, and the hotel is also linked to a very well appointed gym and indoor pool. The food is good, although not out of this world, but the fish is fresh and cooked perfectly. This was one of the best holidays we've had in a while and we will return.

Attended hotel for fathersday lunch with family.|Staff seemed distracted and too thinly spread.|Service was a t times slow.|Most staff were well meaning and curious but one or two clearly didn’t want to be there and had a poor attitude.|Food was pretty awful. Starter of prawn cocktail was sloppily presented, seemed to be prepared well in advance and tasted stale. Main of roast pork was atrocious - congealed cold meat, severely under cooked vegetables, terrible potatoes, gelatinous gravy. Desert looked great but I have never tasted anything so utterly bland.|A great shame as the hotel itself is delightful, full of character and amazing setting. It was a superb meal out but seems to have gone down hill.

Excellent location, really friendly staff and lovely choice of food in the restaurants. Could have done without the huge duvet in the hot weather and no air conditioning made sleeping difficult. The Bay is beautiful with some good choices to eat nearby.

The stay at St Brelades made for a truly wonderful stay never felt so relaxed - great great experience thank you. The place was clean and staff excellent and the views from our balcony were stunning. If you are looking for a restful break look no further.

Great rooms for a solo holiday very comfortable and perfect. Still best hotel on island in my opinion great views great staff and great food can’t beat it. Good to see some subtle changes and still be as good long may it continue. Will be back for definite.
