"Right by Borough Market, this budget hostel is lively and social with an outdoor terrace and many events (beer pong nights, musical performances), and it pioneered cozy pod‑style beds that I found surprisingly comfortable." - Matthew Kepnes

The 8 Best Hostels in London (Updated 2025)

"As a big party hostel near Borough Market (and a short walk to the London Eye and Tower Bridge), I enjoyed the outdoor terrace, regular beer pong nights, musical performances, and the many social events that make it easy to meet people. It was the first London hostel I saw with cozy pod-style beds—they're actually super comfortable and gave me one of the best sleeps I had in the city." - Matthew Kepnes

This hostel is amazing. Clean bedsheets, privacy curtains and easy access. But the service is top tier. Kieran and Linda are two of the most welcoming and hilarious hosts I've ever met. They made things comfortable immediately. Greeting me with big smiles and humor. And were very kind and helpful! Big up! I had a great time being hosted here. Nothing more you could ask for!

Ive stayed in the private room, dorm and pod. Love them all. Clean and welcoming. Everyone is respectful to one a other. Cool chill out room outside. Tea coffee all available for free! Also have a washing machine and iron and ironing board to use. Slight charge for washing machine. Breakfast is good and the welcome drink is just fab! Excellent value for money. Below accommodation is the Belushis bar which is always buzzing. No noise disturbance from the bar. Excellent location all local amenities and transport on the doorstep.

I traveled solo and was lucky enough to be assisted by Ella during my visit. From the moment I arrived, she greeted me warmly and made me feel completely at ease. Her local knowledge, attention to detail, and genuine care truly stood out. Whether it was offering great recommendations,or Ella’s dedication made my experience unforgettable. She’s a true asset and the kind of person who turns a good trip into a great one. Highly recommend. And according to me this is best hostel for staying, I Recommend to everyone please stay here. And Thankyou Ella.

First, let’s clarify the confusing names… There are THREE St. Christopher’s Inns on the same stretch of road (Borough High Street) near London Bridge. 1. St. Christopher’s Inns - The Inn (Pub) 2. St. Christopher’s Inns - The Village 3. St. Christopher’s Inn - The Oasis (female only) I stayed at The Village. Your experience will depend greatly on your room - I see many guests in the Pods complain about the noise from the bar downstairs. Luckily I had a 10 bed dorm room on a higher floor and there were no noise issues, apart from the outside traffic (as windows were open to cool the room). Beds in my spacious dorm had privacy curtains which was fantastic. Lockers under beds are noisy. The shared bathroom facilities were fine. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Note that there’s no proper kitchen for cooking. Staff were all super friendly which was a nice change for London - perhaps because they weren’t from London! Although there’s a social room and an outside terrace, there isn’t much communal space apart from the bar. So if you need space to work, there really isn’t anywhere. Considering this hostel is often priced competitively, if you get a good room I think it offers good value for money.

I had a great stay at St. Christopher’s Inn village -London Bridge. The hostel has a lively and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for travellers who want to explore London and meet people from around the world. The location is unbeatable — just a short walk from Borough Market, the Shard, and London Bridge station, making it easy to get around the city. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds, secure lockers, and a decent social space. The bar downstairs adds a fun vibe in the evenings without being too noisy at night. A special shoutout to Ella at the reception — she was amazing! Friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. She made check-in smooth and always had a smile and great energy whenever I needed help or advice. Her welcoming attitude really made the experience more enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other travellers looking for a budget-friendly, well-located place in London

Stayed here a few years ago and it was decent, but stayed again recently for 1 night and it wasn't as good. The key system is now through an app, which I guess is well intentioned but in practise is annoying and impractical. When I arrived and got to my room after I checked in my bed had dirty bedding and towells on it, so had to go to reception to get them to send the housekeeper up. They did give me a free drink to say sorry to be fair. I must say the staff do seem pretty good still. The room I was in was very shabby and I noticed my bed had mould directly above my head but as I was only staying 1 night and needed to head out straight away I didn't have time to take another trip to reception I just got on with it. The best thing about the place other than the location is that it is very social and you will meet people, but the hostel itself is very cramped and there aren't really enough amenities to cope with the number of people staying, and I guess that's why it's one of the cheapest places in London. Like all hostels I guess it just depends what aspects you prioritise as most important. Probably OK if you're on a tight budget but don't think I'd want to stay again for more than 1 or 2 nights.

For the price, the rooms are good.. I would have liked better common areas though... The location is great!! Also they have amazing staff.. shout out to LINDA.. she is a superhuman who can attend to 3 customers at a time and still no one would feel they are being left behind!! Thank you LINDA for the great service!! The place also has a decent breakfast and offers special coupons for Belushi's - a super cool pub that's located in the same building!!!

This Hostel offers good value for money for those looking for a simple and functional stay. The double room was clean, well-organized. The continental breakfast, included in the stay, was simple but adequate to start the day. The location is a strong point — it’s close to a metro station, which makes getting around the city much easier. The downside was the reception staff. The service wasn’t very friendly or welcoming the team could definitely be more attentive to guests.
