We loved our breakfast at this beaut little cafe in Prahran. We sat in their outside seating which was still great even tho it was winter, it was heated so was still comfy. Coffee was delicious and my breakfast of Turkish Eggs was truly amazing, the flavours in that breakfast are something I will dream about for months to come. So delicious! The Waffle with toasted marshmallow also got top marks from our group. Service was also very friendly.

Absolutely loved this spot! The location and vibe are amazing – a perfect place to start the day with your four legged friends. We ordered coffee, vegetarian big breakfast, and smashed avo, and everything was absolutely delicious. The food was reasonably priced, super tasty, and really filling & they didn’t skimp on the halloumi either, which is always nice to see! And the coffee was astounding. I think I just found my new regular. Highly recommend!

The food was just average, but the service was real poor. Our table had one empty and one half full water bottles from previous customers , the staff didn’t clear the bottles away, instead she brought us two glasses…Saw the guy sitting next table had to get water by himself and waited long enough to ask the staff for a menu. (It wasn’t very busy at the time otherwise I would totally understand) Been to the cafe before, but I think today is the last time I step in.

Google
Cafe tucked away on the corner of St. Edmonds Rd and Greville St. Nice coffee and decent food. Prices are on the dearer side/ brunch prices. The manager/owner is lovely. The rest of the staff seem quite cold. I’ve been a few times and never get greeted when I enter. I just end up standing at the counter in silence. Venue is clean, well lit and plenty of seating indoors and in the courtyard.

Didn't take long for this to be my go-to whenever I am in Prahran. Great coffee and food, lovely service. Great atmosphere. They do simple food, like my trusty seedy-recovery breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast, really well. But also have a variety of fancier dishes for those who want more adventure.

Delightful brunch spot. Great menu, friendly service, dogs welcome! I had the Turkish Eggs and my girlfriend had the Steak Sandwich. Both beautifully presented and delicious

Absolutely love the backstreet local cafe vibe here. We came on a tip to try their Cornflake Crumbed French Toast and were definitely not disappointed. Aside from the amazing french toast, they do top notch coffee and a range of super healthy cafe favourites. The vibe is comfortable and the service is welcoming. One of the best in Prahran.

Yelp
It's a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was very attentive and friendly. I got the avocado smash and my friend got the pink smoothie. My food had a big serving but tge taste was just ok. The egfs were done well which I liked. Restroom was clean and there is street parking.

Yelp
Ok so for those of you who are tourists... This. Is. Melbourne. Literally the best French toast I've ever had! The presentation was immaculate and I almost felt bad eating it! Almost! Someone has really paid attention to the interaction of flavours as they're are an abundance on the plate but nothing overpowers the other and they all compliment. Did I say best French toast ever? Light, fluffy and flavourful. Coffees are Melbourne coffee! Ie. REAL coffee! Strong, bold and flavoursome The place itself is dog friendly with an outdoor section that has a opaque perspect overhead and a breeze that flows in from the street which is great on a muggy Melbourne morning. They even have toilets (which is a rarity where I come from). The prices are very generous for what you are served - in Perth it would've been mid 20's to $30 for what we had here (which was $18). They also know how to nail a crispy piece of bacon These guys? Hands down. The best so far in Melbourne

Yelp
This is a fab little cafe just near greville street. I had had coffee here a couple of times as it is near somewhere I do some work and it has not disappointed. I also once got a takeaway toasted chicken sandwich which was a bit of a sensation. So today I visited for lunch and had their winter warmer bowl. This involved buttermilk chicken, lots of forms of squash, pine nuts, raisins and spinach and was not only delicious but I believe quite nutritious! I topped this off with a salted caramel brownie. I purposely requested the smallest one to lessen my guilt and that worked well in terms of balancing richness and enjoyment!

Yelp
Food: St. Edmonds put a healthy spin on brunch (or lunch) with a lot of their dishes, but you can still get some indulgent treats, if you fancy being not-so-healthy! I loved their big breakfast - it was tasty, filling and BIG! Their brekkie greens are also a great option if you want something a little lighter. Their coffee is also great. Atmosphere/service: St. Edmonds have both an idea and a covered outdoor courtyard style eating area. We love the outdoor area, it's always lively and attracts a really mix of people. Tables are fairly small, so I'd try and book ahead if you are bringing a large group. Service is excellent. Staff are happy to chat about the menu and make recommendations, they are attentive and show a genuine interest. Real laid back atmosphere. Would I recommend it: Definitely! Will it's possibly a little more pricey than some nearby places, you get good portion sizes and excellent food for your money. St. Edmonds have probably given us the best service we've had so far in Prahran, and they will go that extra mile to ensure you have a good experience.

Yelp
As a Perth-ite visiting from WA.. This Cafe breakfast just blew my mind. It definitely makes you feel like you're getting a real taste of Melbourne. Great atmosphere, music, decor. The staff and friendly and attentive. You can also take your dog along and sit in the garden. The menu does change regularly, so don't get excited about an item before you get here! Which we did.. Had our eye on pancakes and they weren't on the menu. We decided to both get the French toast and OMG! It was masterchef worthy. It was an artwork in itself!! It also tasted amazing.. So boo-ya. Coffee was also nice.

I haven't been in ages but this morning I've been craving the warm vegan breakie salad. that's my review.

Yelp
On holiday in Melbourne: spoilt for choice in Prahran, I wasted a golden breakfast opportunity by coming here. The coffee was good, yes--just ask the waiter. But the breakfast menu was disappointing from go to whoa. One of my two breakfast companions asked if he could have his eggs scrambled instead of poached (despite the note on the menu saying NO ALTERATIONS, which I always find a little obnoxious, surely ONLY ALTERATIONS WITHIN REASON would be better guys). The waiter--to his credit--did at least go out the back and ask the chef, but the response? "It's not the nature of the dish." HAHAHAHAHA ARE YOU KIDDING ME! THAT IS SOME FREAKING POETRY RIGHT THERE. That should have been our sign to leave and give some other venue a red hot go, but we persisted. I don't know why. Our scrambled companion decided not to eat anything. Of the two of us still deigning to eat there, I certainly wasn't the winner with my lumpy, dry feta. So disappointing. Awesome spot, cool venue, but that's where it ends for me. At least for breakfast, but I doubt I'll return to give it another go when there's a multitude of other things to explore so close by.

Yelp
I had heard about St Edmunds from word leaking out during their soft opening a few months ago and decided that since it was virtually up the road that it would be a place worth checking out. Being nestled at the crossroads of Greville St, Prahran. It is a great little area with its own sense of style just off the Melbourne known as Chapel St. Behind the graffiti-covered exterior is a natural light-drenched space. Not one to get too worked up about who designed what, who previously worked where etc, I must say that I do like what Projects of Imagination have installed for the team. The menus come on cards inserted in a pocket which is just another ingenious idea. By the time we showed up it was a few weeks after then opening and they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For a Saturday brunch the place was busy but not overrun by locals (just yet anyway). If that way inclined they have craft beer and cider on tap to whet the old whistle. Owner Adam Wilkinson has breathed new life into an old garage and has added some nice touches to the decor of the place. The snazzy staff get around in denim aprons (designed by Scanlan & Theodore) which WordMonkey was frothing at the mouth to get hold of one for her kitchen capers. The specials menu is posted on a blackboard and to the side elements of the staff uniform offer a new take on the indoor pot plant phenomenon. I must say that I was impressed by the coffee on offer and the extra expense to provide sugar in glass faux crushed plastic party cups. A nice little touch. The selection of old scales dotted around the place didn't hurt either. As per any good cafe they have a good selection of pastries/muffins etc and a display of freshly made sandwiches and the like for those not taken with the menu. Now in all honesty I was not bowled over by the contents of the menu. This is due to my wield obsession of not liking eggs in any form whatsoever. So I had to look at other options. We did encounter an issue though. As we wanted to steer away from the breakfast menu we placed our order from the lunch menu. It was 11.45am people! They said that we would have to wait until they started serving lunch at 12pm. Yes - ok - no problem. We also ordered 2 coffees to assist us in the wait. The problem was that we had a 30 min wait for our coffees and then a further 30 min wait for the burger order. We were not starving so decided to share something and got the wagyu meatball sourdough sanga with roast capsicum and sheep's feta. Yes it was nice and tasty but my issue was with the size vs cost vs wait time. Looking on UrbanSpoon it seems like we were neither the first nor the last to encounter it. I am not sure I cam be tempted back to give it a second chance - but if I do, I will do a follow-up post to update its status. If and when you get around to checking it out drop a word in below with your thoughts.

Yelp
St Edmonds truly is everything a Melbourne hot spot should be: 1. Not on main road, check. (It's on St Edmonds Road, off Greville Street) 2. Adorned with graffiti art on the outside, check. 3. Beautiful and/or hipster staff, check. 4. Acceptable side of town, check. 5. Creative menu, check. 6. Open virtually all hours of the day, check. 7. Pretty consistently good coffee and food, check. I've been to St Edmonds somewhere in the vicinity of a gazillion times (it's on my regular path, okay?). In peak hours you have to be extremely lucky or famous - preferably both - to get a table, but it's for a reason (see above checklist). Personally, I use St Edmonds as a takeaway coffee spot or in those off-hours during the week... well after lunch finishes, but before the dinner crowd makes an appearance. Combine a glass of red and a selection from their nibbles menu (hello perfect fries, truffled edamame and miniature burgers) and you could easily be forgiven for thinking you're living THE life. A bonus half a star is awarded to this venue for bothering to install those glorious bay windows that they can open wide on the three days a year Melbourne is warm enough (but not too hot) to open them and let the breeze in, creating an indoor-outdoor eatery. Sigh.

Yelp
St Edmond's is so very Greville St. In fact this is exactly the sort of place you can come to expect from this side of town. Graffiti strewn (the good kind) and hidden down a lane way, it has all the hallmarks of another Melbourne hipster hot spot. And that is exactly what it is. I mean it's even a converted garage, come on! However, St Edmonds has the substance to back it up with. The food is great, perfect whether you feel grazing or getting a full meal. The edamame is particularly worth mentioning, if only it was served at more places throughout the city. Naturally, the staff are gorgeous and painfully cool. A rather intimidating combination perhaps, but while they may be genetically blessed they are super nice too.

Yelp
Best breakfast I've had in a long time! Awesome cute little place Prahran with attentive staff & delicious food. My poached eggs were delicious & I couldn't believe the colour of the yolks - so orange! My coffee was just the way I like it. I will be back for sure.

Yelp
I was here yesterday; the 19th for breakfast. As I write this I have Thee oh see's blaring in the background- They're a San Fran Garage Psych Rock band. I've known about this place forever essentially since it first opened. But Alas I never took it upon myself to rise to the challenge of finding it and then visiting. Many years later, I have. Of course as things go I found it by accident; going a different way on my bike. It's a small converted little place in what may have previously amounted to a garage. Judging by the roller door at the end of the place I'd say I've estimated well. There's a courtyard out the back too; small but well loved. The long black here is served with soda water, that's cool, I'm liking it and have heard of it before. It's a nice little experiment to do; - sweetens it a little and changes the flavour, the crema gets rustled. Synesso coffee machine. Decent coffee. 3 brews on tap; mountain goat steam ale, a Swedish cider and something else. All your usual breakfasting favourites make an appearance here. Lunch menu looks good but didn't really look at it too long. Comprehensive choice of great options though. They have a $10 lunch menu that I noticed. That might come in handy. "All takeaway orders and bill payments at the payment zone" Sign. Gold, and worthy of one star alone. The St Ed's breakfast is like some sort of anti-hangover cure; It's a meaty treaty sent from above. Carnivorous unite; I can't remember the last time i saw this much meat on a plate; bacon and sausages a plenty. It's super super busy here and one is usually put on a wait list for tables. It's good they can manage the endless crowds. I got in by luck and was unaware of this list until I saw it unfold. The hot chocolate looks super mega awesome and strong here: Its the good stuff. They also have wine here! Wine, beer and cider! I'll drink to that and I did. I'm right in up amongst it sitting by the coffee machine pass and observing everything busy. Sitting at the counter, There's super cool staff with style to boot working hard on their game. There's an old child's tip truck for tips A tip Truck!!!

Yelp
Cool little coutryard! Can get a bit "trendy" sometimes. Menu is nice but limited. There's been a few occasions I've asked for scrambled eggs with something instead of poached (which i hate) only to be told "we can't do that because we can't put it through on the pre programmed till" which i think is silly. Some of the staff are better than others. Just an "ok" from me.

Yelp
Came here today for a quick coffee them ended up eating here. Best choice of breakfast if you want something light or even when you want to go over the top with a big plate of greasy/well-cooked food! Right off the bat, Flat white coffee tasted amazing! No comments just came out excellent.. First timer. Definitely would come around or a 2, 4 visit whenever I'm strolling around this neck of the woods.

Yelp
Great medium sized cafe in Prahran. Great atmosphere and fantastic mobile art being the heavily tattooed staff. The garden area is well set out and comfortable. The food is served quite quickly considering the amount of people ordering, with exceptional attention to detail. Staff on two occasions have walked around the cafe offering patrons the chance to taste their latest creation, which was FREE! Now for the coffee, hard to describe, amazing should do it! It's consistent, it's very moorish and I can't leave the cafe unless I have had two. The coffee is never burnt, the milk is always of amazing texture but best of all it arrives at your table at the perfect drinking temperature. My advice is try it, worth travelling for and well worth your time.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday morning. Wasn't busy but not empty either. While the food and ambience of the place is nice I had a bad experience that won't see me returning any time soon- not with so many other great cafes nearby. We had been at our table for a while, had coffee orders taken and served. Came to order food, we ordered and waited... and waited ... and waited. Three tables next to us got food so we decided to casually ask if our was on its way. As it was our orders had never made it to the kitchen. Our waitress had rushed off to a "meeting" (?) and forgotten to put them through. Another waiter apologised and took our orders but nothing was offered as a replacement or reimbursement. Seeing as we were on a tight time schedule to begin with this really was even more annoying. While the food was good, not putting an order through really wasn't good enough. Also I ended up getting a parking ticket so that wasn't a great morning! 2 stars only for the food.

Yelp
Serious coffee (aromatic etc) - I go for the toasted quinoa and beef salad with (never enough) salsa verde (oh yeah)

Yelp
Great spot, good staff, good food. We enjoyed lunch and a tasty coffee; however the muffin which accompanied was soggy. Should perhaps not be stored in refrigerated display cabinet!
