St. Francis College

Our daughter went to St. Francis College and graduated. She loved her time there. We were very happy with the support she received especially from her water polo coach, Carl Quigley.

SFC is a small college but don’t underestimate the professors here. Most of the professors I’ve had are some of the most patience, sweet, and inspiring people. They are all unique in their own ways and genuinely care about your grades and your education. The new campus location is also very spacious and refreshing.

I'd say it was a pretty good experience while it lasted. I was only there for a tour of the place. I'd say the place is pretty good for cheaper tuition than most universities and cheaper prices for food if you're buying any in the lounge/cafeteria. Definitely a place to go with friends though. Doesn't seem as welcoming if you're alone, introverted, or not as outgoing.

I am going to be a Sophomore this year and I couldn't be happier with the school. All the faculty and staff made the transition from high school to college very smooth. The faculty and staff care about how your are doing both academically and personally. From the minute I stepped through the door at my open house, I was automatically welcomed with open arms to the St. Francis College family. Everyone from the students to the faculty members are friendly as well, it is really easy to find a solid group of people who will be by your side for a long time. Its also the perfect school for students who want to be highly involved on campus. There are lots of opportunities from department jobs, to research assistants, to clubs and sports teams. I myself am a member of two of their 21 NCAA Division 1 teams, as well as a handful of other clubs and organizations on campus, from Student Government to the Latin American Society. This is the perfect school for someone who wants to be an individual and find themselves, rather than just be one of a few thousand. In just one year I have felt myself grow so much and I can't wait to see what else SFC has in store for me.

i visited for a couple hours in September for an immediate decision, and i got in! everyone from the front desk/security to admissions counselor himself were very friendly! the school itself is small, but the building is small and compact and everything was clean, nice, and updated! i am so tremendously excited to be a SFC student and in the class of 2024!

Awesome college. The professors are all usually very down to earth. You can tell that the staff there care about your future and want you to succeed. It really is a small college, but they give you MANY opportunities to do well and achieve anything you want

The teachers want to help their students succeed. I loved my religion professor here. So down to earth. Learned a lot about history and my own sense of spirituality and how it plays a role in the larger context of the tradition. Amazing liberal arts education!

My overall education received I will give a 5 star. But as for respect for alumni and help available to them I give 1 star. I completed my b.s in 3 and a half years, I got a scholarship for 8,000. I decided to attend because my best friend was attending and enjoyed the school. I also did not want to attend a CUNY, I wanted to try a private college, but not too expensive. My education received was great, the professors were friendly and well educated as well as had expierence in their related field. BUT I have to take a required course for a masters degree program, I would prefer to take it as SFC, so I ask if the terrier come home program applies and they say NO because I am not pursuing another degree. Well, I’m sorry you don’t provide my graduate program. CUNY wants to charge me 2,200 for one class, I asked if SFC could lower the rate since I graduate there and they made about 20,000 off of my degree? They flat out said no, unless I’m pursuing another degree and would not discount the rate of 860 per credit which is about 400 more than CUNY. They wouldn’t discount me anything AT ALL lol. I would never even consider taking a masters degree program, certification or any other course at this school again. It was very uncooth and disrespectful to not offer any discount especially seeing as they made an immense amount of money off of me. I graduate cum laude and would have attended their graduate school but they offer 3 limited programs with a crazy tuition. Save your money and go to a CUNY for your masters. It’s okay for a undergraduate program but masters programs are limited and the amount they charge for the quality for care and respect for students is minimal. When I went the lobby and cafeteria area had classroom chairs and it looked awful, now it’s all done up and amazing looking lol is that what the extra charge is for ? I would have considered paying a bit extra but the way the man replied via email was kind of snark and annoying. You think they would treat alumni better. Oh well, whatever. They raised the tuition at lease 5,000 bucks in the 3 years I was there and if I’d known that previously I would have saved myself the student debt and went to a CUNY 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ Professors get 5 stars. Other staff I give 1 to 2 stars.

If you are looking for a big campus experience, St. Francis College is not for you. The small student body (around 2,700) however, are better prepared for the future due to it's location in Downtown Brooklyn. Much like any school, St. Francis College is what you make of it. If you put the effort into the school, you will be successful and go far, if not, then you won't. As far as the facilities, there are plenty of areas the school could improve, including amenities in the student lounge, but the school includes Mac computers that have the entire Adobe Suite available, a TV Production room. Adding outlets into the classroom, however, could go a long way. Overall, I have had a positive experience at St. Francis College, especially with the employees of the school, most of which are alums who want to see both you (and the school) succeed.

The facility is wonderful. My daughter swims there the staff and the school very clean and very nice. Thank you to our wonderful staff in school

Horrible college. Does not keep students, especially women safe. They are more worried about keeping things "hush hush" and saving whatever good reputation they have left than right vs wrong. Administration is strangely quiet when presented with serious, unarguable facts that happen at THEIR school event. Awful things happened to me at the hands of St. Francis College, and I will continue to use my voice to warn others. Run far away.

I just couldn't resist and had to rate my alma mater. So if you are checking out / considering St Francis, you must know this is a small, commuter college in Brooklyn Heights. The biggest thing this place has going for it is it's size (only 2,500 students) and a community spirit. Yes.. that's right, the community spirit!!! Although a commuter school, St Francis is so welcoming to its students in particular, but to its alumni as well. The classes are small, and you get to know your professors, peers and staff really quickly. The quality of education is solid, and professors are usually very dedicated and knowledgeable folks, who love their subjects and the life in the classroom. For the price you end up paying, I believe this is a good barging and an excellent school. The only drawback is the fact that the school has no student housing on a larger scale. They try to borrow certain # of rooms from other local colleges that are in the dorm business. This makes it harder for out of state students, who would like to attend the school and have no relatives / friends in the NYC to put them up until they figure out their own housing setting.

I started this college in September of this year and ended up dropping out. The admission advisor Romello Rogers is an idiot. I showed him my online Penn Foster high school transcript while I was registering for this college, he told me I was all good I can start my college classes. Right when I started the classes, Romello tells me that my high school transcript needed to be in an envelope while registering for classes. Romello was saying that the transcript shows that I didn't graduate high school. If I didn't graduate high school I wouldn't have received a transcript from Penn Foster. Romello wasn't making any sense. He didn't know what the hell he was talking about. Romello was so damn stupid, he waited until I already started classes to tell me that my high school transcript needed to be in an envelope. All that time he could've told me before. I wasn't going to order another transcript from Penn Foster because it's going to be the same transcript and would have been a waste of money. Romello got my on nerves, I wasn't going to waste my time arguing with him. That's why I dropped out of this college.

I went to college here. It was nice to see all the changes here. The gym is nice and cleaner. The front of the school and student lounge is all different and they have a real kitchen. Didn't get a change to go upstairs but I am pretty pleased at all the changes.

It's a small college with tight knit community. From my personal experience, the staffs were very helpful and friendly. All you have to do just reach out! What I like the most was their prompt reply and their efforts on trying their level best to help you to succeed.

I love this school. What better school can you ask for with amazing professors and tuition that is affordable. You get to know your professors personally. The classes are smaller, your not crammed in a classroom with someone brushing up next to you. I love how it is a small school and it does not take you forever to walk to the next class. All the staff are helpful and understanding. The down side is if you work full time there are not that many classes to offer at a reasonable time. So if you are applying and you do have that 9-5 job which is not flexible try to double think before coming here or take a lot of classes during intersessions at other schools. I LOVE THE SMALL COLLEGE OF BIG DREAMS!!!

My alma mater and I love it! I had a great 4 years at SFC. There really is a family spirit although it is a commuter school. Professors take the time to know you and everyone in the school is extremely helpful. I went back to work for SFC in the Office of Freshman Studies in 2005-2006. Great experience work there as well. Wonderful school for a great price!

Facilities-only* review: Having attended sessions on five separate summer weekdays on the Saint Francis "campus" and exploring multiple floors, I'm pretty confident with my four-star assessment of this educational institution. It's right near Borough Hall & thus conveniently accessible from different subway stops. The building's old but not in disrepair, and they take visitors' ID at the entrance to the confusing but logically laid-out building. In the couple lunches we had catered in the cafeteria, you could tell it was a small, cozy community and a solid school that plays host to many events. While they couldn't really handle the volume when we all collided during the lunchtime rush, the staff was friendly and cooperative and the few students courteous. *Restrooms-plus.

Ok so I came here for my 1st V-day event last Saturday with friends. Why did I go to a College on a Saturday morning you ask?..... well because it was "Poney-con" Yup you read that right...... "Poney-con". Think of Comic-con but only for My Little Poney. No judgement. Had the best time with everyone! The Bro-nies (My Little Poney Fan Boys) were hilarious! Very into their cosplay and characters. We stayed there for a few hours and went to a few panels. I'd love to see where that event will be in a few years since there was a great deal of people.

I graduated from SFC in 2009 and I will be graduating again in December with my Masters in Accounting. SFC has been/is a wonderful experience. It is in a wonderful location in Downtown Brooklyn Area. Put in the effort and you will get the results.

Excellent school even in 1984. Great Professors and supportive staff. I am an Alumni Class of '84 and I still support the Library Fund. You need to check out this school if you planning on going to college.

St Francis College is an excellent school. I find the staff knowledgeable and friendly in every office. I usually get a human being when I call not a machine. If you leave a message, someone always calls you back. The professors are compassionate and thorough. They expect the students to excel, give them opportunity to do great work and my son has risen to these expectations. This small college (around 2,700) has been a fantastic experience for my son since he came from a moderate size high school (around 3,000). This past year with my son away at St Francis College, I feel at ease and I could not have asked for a better college experience for him. I highly recommend this school to any student.

For the past four years, I've organized an annual event held at the Callahan Center and Founders Auditorium of St. Francis College. The spaces are beautiful. Robert Oliva and his team are amazing! Very responsive and a great help to make your event a success. No complaints!

Ads on the subway claim this school is close to the A,C,F,2,3,4,5,N,R trains. Closest N train is almost a mile away at Barclay's Center/Atlantic Avenue. Maybe you guys should do your research before you put out incorrect ads like that. Proof that the people that run this school are idiots.

N train stops at Court Street according to the MTA, which is 1 1/2 blocks away from the campus.
