"How did it strike you on arrival? The landscaped grounds and gardens of this historic inn couldn’t be more evocative of Antebellum tranquillity, framed as they are by Spanish Moss and oak trees. The façade dates back to the late 19th-century and its ornate arches and tall window shutters are movie-set perfect. Nice. What’s the crowd like?Guests range from people in town for the weekend from New Orleans to couples on road trips, stopping off at historic towns such as St. Francisville. Either way it’s a mature, well-turned out clientele that pays a little more for interesting properties such as this rather than anonymous national chains. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The ten rooms (the property straddles the casual line between inn and bed and breakfast) are arranged around a quiet brick courtyard. My King Room was unsurprisingly very traditional, with floral wallpaper, leather-backed armchairs and lace bedding. The furniture was reproduction rather than period, but retiring there after a day’s sightseeing at least maintained the illusion of the more comfortable aspects of century-old hospitality. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The bathrooms probably present as a little dated if you’re more familiar with fashionable boutique hotels, but their rural charm was complemented by reassuringly modern plumbing. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word? The place feels remote, but thankfully Internet speeds are on a par with the big city. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.One of the Inn’s most alluring aspects is their famed Wine Parlor, set in the main building. The owners have collected a cellar impressive enough for people to drive out especially. Breakfast time offers a few equally pleasing surprises, with rolled savory crepes, quiches and andouille sausages lining up with the more usual morning buffet suspects. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay?A glass of wine at sunset as shafts of light broke through the Spanish Moss. Bottom line: worth it, and why?If you’re staying in St. Francsiville, it’s really the only accommodation option with any character, and worth a little extra for the memories." - Paul Oswell

Yelp
We ate here while on a weekend girls trip. This place is absolutely divine! Everything is perfection - the decor, the food, the drinks, the servers, the bartenders, the ambiance - I could go on! Reservations are highly recommended. We ate dinner here our first night staying at the Hotel Toussaint. I ordered the stuffed soft shell crab with corn maque choux. I loved this dish - crispy soft shelled crab, FULLY stuffed, and they did not skimp on the lump crab meat! I even enjoyed the corn maque choux, which is not usually my favorite, but this one still had the sweetness of the corn and all the flavors, yet wasn't overly spicy. Just perfect! My friend ordered the chicken with mushrooms and horseradish potatoes and absolutely loved every bit of it! We returned for breakfast the next morning (complimentary continental with our stay at the Hotel Toussaint), and we decided to order just one of our complimentary breakfasts (croissant, apple strudel/tart, strawberry jam, butter, and fresh fruit) and then order a Southern Breakfast (bacon, eggs, cheese grits, and a biscuit). We then split both plates so we could try everything! All of the food was delicious, as to be expected, but the cheese grits were the star of the show! They were the right texture, were seasoned well, and were topped with melted cheese. Yum! We visited the St Francisville Inn again later in the day to go to the spa for pedicures. The spa is upstairs and is serene and relaxing. Our pedicures were well done. They also offer facials and massages, but we didn't schedule those during this trip. Finally, we visited again in the afternoon to have drinks from the bar. We enjoyed them on the front porch. Everything about this place is well thought-out to the last detail. I will be visiting again in the future for sure!

Yelp
If you are lucky enough to experience this hidden gem on an unexpected drive to the beautiful small town of St. Francisville, you'll know next time to make reservations and put it top of your list. From their signature cocktail, the Cajun French Martini to their decadent desserts, you will enjoy every bite of rich, savory well-planned menu items. Service is impeccable with a warm welcome and great attention to detail. This is not just a restaurant, or a bar or a bed & breakfast, it is an experience. Enjoy!

Yelp
The food here is AMAZING! The menu is limited, but that's clearly because the focus is on food quality. Both desserts we tried were great, but the Godiva chocolate torte was just to die for.

Yelp
On our American Queen cruise stop we decided to stop at St. Francisville Inn for a drink & bite. The host Bradley was ever so friendly & hospitable. We had delicious appetizers and I drank first time a Cajun French Martini following his recommendation. It was to die for. Thank you for your Southern hospitality. Please go there if you are ever in their neighborhood. It will not disappoint.

Yelp
We came up from Hammond to explore St. Francisville and surrounding area but the highlight was our stay in the Jasparilla Pink House, a wonderful separate cottage. The house was a home to us while visiting, providing heartfelt comfort. Cherie Fry's lovely artwork graced the walls of this fully restored 1901 home. We didn't like leaving such serenity! Yard cat Lionel and Lou, an Anatolian Shepherd/standard poodle mix, topped our stay off with their familiar and sweet presence. We loved every minute with you! The dining in the Saint is first class! Ms. Shirley made us feel loved and cared for at breakfast. Such a find! St Francisville and Pink House, expect us again in the summer!

Yelp
The food was lovely. We had Sunday brunch, best crab cakes I've had in a long time. They brought my partner the wrong desert but he was very happy with his brownie. I had the chocolate tart with raspberry coulis. just OK--needed more tart to offset the rich chocolate, The service was friendly and kind. But I had to knock off 2 stars because I am disabled and the restaurant is not only not ADA compliant; it's downright hostile. I understand (as I was told several times) that it's an old historic building, but what would it take to mark out one or two close parking spaces for the disabled? And what would it take to repair the broken sidewalk leading up to the steps? There should be a ramp. The only one on offer is behind the hotel, apparently. It was too far out of the way, and then I would have had a lot more uneven gravel parking lot to navigate. The handrail on the stairs is festooned in holiday decorations. Pretty, but it made it even harder to get into and out of the place. Once inside, there were several treacherous places where door sills were very uneven. Would it be that hard to repair those? The restaurant is doing a brisk business and is well-reviewed. I suggest taking a bit of effort on behalf of your disabled customers and investing some time and capital into making the building more accessible. I'm not asking for anything extravagant. We cannot come back until and unless, and that makes me sad.

Yelp
Food to die for ... the minute we drove up onto the property we were in awe, the beautiful grounds and 1800s cottage feel home/restaurant surrounded by oak trees was the perfect setting for my surprise 60th Birthday dinner with my husband. Walking inside made us think we stepped back in time, simply amazing. As we were seated and presented with menus, Kennedy and staff were very professional, friendly and knowledgeable of wines and food when questioned. We were very impressed. Kennedy made us feel like we had our own personal hostess, always on time with refills, checking up if we needed anything and of course(when asked)didn't hesitate to take a few pics of us. Now about the food....OMG I thought I went to heaven at first bite! Started with CRAB BRIE BISQUE & ROMANO BAGUETTE unbelievably delicious, then to the entrees the CAST IRON FILET MIGNON cooked to perfection, melted in your mouth. SNAPPER COCODRIE was also cooked to perfection, crisp on outside, flaky inside with crawfish dressing that tasted like grandmas( maybe better) lol My glass of wine that was suggested went perfectly with my dish(had two glasses). Last but not least....dessert! so glad we had a little room to spare because the blueberry bread pudding was AMAZING! Don't leave without tasting, it's a must! Thank you all for a great experience we won't ever forget. Can't wait to return.

Yelp
This was my first time here and WOW! The building and decor are gorgeous. It is so well decorated. Everything looks so elegant and nice. We had lunch at The Saint, the restaurant in the Inn. We started with some drinks-- rum punch and I forgot the other name. Both very good. Then we had the crab and Brie bisque. This was absolutely amazing-- I wanted another cup of it. I ordered the crab cake for my entree. Unlike most crab cakes I've had, this one was filled with crab meat. It was 98% crab meat. We finished with the delicious peach cobbler! Everything was very delicious. I do wish they served some bread to start but other than that, it was fantastic. I will definitely be back!! Yelp
We have totally enjoyed our stay at St. Francisville Inn. The restaurant has the best food in this area. Complimentary breakfast if you stay which is delicious. Bar drinks were great & food was amazing. During our stay we had a margarita, Cosmo, Pinot Grigio and Baileys. The food was the best in this area. Our dinner was crab & Brie bisque, crab cake, corn Mac Choux, broccolini, redfish & spinach and desserts included brownie deliciousness and blueberry bread pudding. Our lunch was burger & fabulous fries and shrimp sensation salad with a delicious dressing. The room #5 is secluded quiet & beautiful. The staff was exceptionally wonderful. Ms. Shirley, Ms. Angela, Preston, Andrew, Michael, Alex, and owners Jim & Branson could not have been nicer welcoming, accommodating making our stay special. We are already looking at our schedule to return.

Yelp
This place is first class. A great place for a date. The food was excellent, but for four people the bill was over $300. I guess you get what you pay for. For a special occasion this would be a wonderful place to go. It would be great for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Easter. Make reservations way in advance. We didn't have a reservation on Sunday, but they took us anyway. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was excellent. Food and drinks were excellent. I wish I had the money to go more often. Ho-hum, such is life.

Yelp
My stay at this inn was delightful! The house is stunning! I was in room 8 with a friend. The room was clean and decorated beautifully. Breakfast was delicious and the owners were very sweet. I'll definitely be back on a night the restaurant and bar are open!

Janet S.

Yelp
This review is for the bar The Saint, and the overall ambiance of this hotel. We did not stay overnight but I am positive it would be excellent. The bar, though small was elegant and hosting a fund raising event. We had just ordered Manhattans when the crowd came in. Michael, the bartender was top notch and this was easily the best Manhattan we had had in a while which considering we drink about 6 a week that's saying something. I think anything you get here is likely to be first class as the owners have clearly got good taste - and stopped by to say hello even though we were interlopers to the event.

Yelp
It's a wonderful place right in the middle of the town. The public rooms are beautifully decorated with lots of interesting items and collections. We enjoyed breakfast in a sunny room with several Hunt Slonem rabbit portraits! Fun to see these! The innkeeper (Krysti) was gracious and efficient when we arrived. The inn is a very old building but our room was remodeled and updated and very comfortable. The grounds and landscaping are well maintained and the huge oaks make it special. We were disappointed that there was no food or drink available on Sunday evening. We missed trying the food in The Saint restaurant and bar. Perhaps a lunch or dinner there would be nice.

Christine L.

Yelp
Love the charming interior design and fabulous variety of food. The waitress were very friendly.

Bytie B.

Yelp
Awesome food! The menu is limited but everyone agreed their dinner was outstanding. The Owners, manager, staff, and bartender made sure everything was perfect. This is a hidden gem and well worth the trip if you're in Baton Rouge area.

Yelp
Classy place with EXCELLENT service and tasty food. Decorated well and we will be back soon. Thank you St. Francisville Inn.

Laura L.

Yelp
we had Sublime lunch at the restaurant. the service was fantastic! Shay and Shirley took great care of us and Chef Michael prepared one of the best meals I've had in years definitely have the crab and Brie bisque. jumbo lump crab cake was heavenly. my friend had the shrimp sensation salad and said it was wonderful. We will definitely be back! the Ambiance is pure Louisiana Southern Charm

Yelp
We attended a party in the area and were told by all the locals to have brunch the next day at the St Francisville Inn. When I arrived I was warmly greeted by the owner in the front door lobby area. I was so impressed by the welcoming charm and beauty of the Inn that it took me a while to even ask if they had a table for us. Believe me I've stayed at the best hotels and Boutique hotels in the world and touring the St Francisville Inn was extremely impressive. This Inn reminds me of the beautiful 5 start Inn called the Inn at Little Washington in Va. you won't be disappointed by the beauty, charm and hospitality of the St Francisville Inn. Can't wait to go back!

Michael S.

Yelp
This was the ofirst bed and breakfast my wife and I stayed in and I can't imagine there being a nicer one. The service and hospitality are excellent. You feel like you're staying in your rich friend's mansion complete with staff, bartender, on-site horticulturist, and five star cook but the only difference being they send you a bill after you leave. The property is beautiful and rooms smell "expensive." Only downside my wife and I could find is the bathrooms are small and don't allow for counter space but that's not the end of the world by any means. The bartender Annalise is excellent and served strong drinks each night. Bar selection is also perfect with fine prices for the stiff pours. The restaurant is excellent even by New Orleans standards. Breakfast was ideal each morning with two eggs over easy, some of the best grits you'll have, some of the crispiest bacon you'll have, and one of the best warmed scones you'll have. Coffee is Community brand with or without Chicory. Pool isn't heated so unless you're looking to sober up at 10:15pm it's prolly best to wait from May till September to use. Kristi is an excellent host, Angelia is one of the friendliest servers you'll ever have, Brandon and his partner make you feel at home. I can't reccomend it enough

Roderick O.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about this Inn. The hosts (Brandon, Jim, and the rest of the staff) are friendly, hospitable, and make you feel like "part of the family". The food ..... well .... "excellent", "phenomenal", "unbelievable", etc. don't even BEGIN to scratch the surface. Dinner at the St. Francisville is like attending a fine dinner party in someone's home. It's like being invited to one of the best parties you've ever been to. Rooms are well appointed, decorated BEAUTIFULLY, and SO comfortable. If you haven't been to The St. Francisville Inn .... GET HERE! Don't wait another minute. Joe Bourne

Jamie L.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to have a girls day/night at the Inn. We arrived an hour before our brunch reservation and enjoyed some mimosas in the bar area, we were blown away by the charm this place has! It is absolutely beautiful and looks like it would be out of a Southern Living magazine. We were seated at our table promptly and enjoyed more cocktails and a delicious brunch probably some of the best redfish I've had! We enjoyed the afternoon relaxing by the pool and visiting with a few of the other guest. We ended our little getaway with a yummy breakfast the next morning, Jim and Brandon are fabulous host and make you feel like you're at home. I am already planning my next trip back, it's definitely a hidden gem!

Yelp
Revisited the St Francisville Inn Restaurant for the first time in almost 20'years a few weeks back with a group.of old friends after a high school.reunion held out at The Bluffs. We called ahead from the lodge and got last minute reservations for 10. I thought we were going to "brunch" but We must have hit it just in time to eat the lunch buffet. First, I was so impressed with the complete makeover of the house itself. Tastefully redecorated with a touch of whimsy! The bottomless bloody Mary's & mimosas were a hit with our parched post-reunion crowd. The "brunch"'buffet was a delightful surprise after finding sourhern fried chicken, fresh vegetables and other "down home" food. All fresh &'deliciously prepared! The banana pudding was to.die for! .I.knew I'd definitely be back.for more! A couple weeks later, my son was driving thru & stopped to spend Fathers Day weekend. I treated he & the hubs to what I thought was the same type meal but, alas, apparently they don't have a true "brunch". Fathers day reservations were slim.pickings so I made them for around 10ish? Much to my disappointment they were only serving from a breakfast menu. While the breakfast menu was great southerm fare, grits & biscuits etc, the fruit was a bit sub par for driving to the restaurant to eat, and they seemed stretched a bit on service. (had to keep asking for basic things that should have been automatically served w breakfast. I.e. butter, then jelly also water, creamer for coffee. Sort of became a joke for us lol.)But I will add that although breakfast was disappointing, it would be a great breakfast for the hotel guests. Above average for a chain hotel But subpar for a B&B (imo). They should definitely create a special.breakfast meal to match their beautiful new house home . Maybe a great Pain Perdu or play off of a beignet. That being said, I'm.leaving my rating at 4 stars (my go to highest) until I.go back again for LUNCH! . We have reservations again coming up.to bring my parents and it's for 1130am. Late enough to.get the lunch fare. I'm betting the lunch is the jewel.in this refurbished crown! Cant wait to report that is the case! Either way....don't drive thru this area without stopping in for lunch. It is worth the stop! And as far as I can see the hotel itself looks like a great stay! Owners and staff are super friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
Had a wonderful southern breakfast this morning. I didn't realize until recently that they put on a breakfast for anyone not just the guests. The place is beautifully decorated and the new owners Brandon and Jim have put some amazing touches on the whole property. They were awesome hosts and so great to talk to. Thanks for a wonderful Saturday morning. Can't wait to see all of the new things to come and visit more often once all of the renovations are complete.

Deana C.

Yelp
Pleasant room but very small. Should have paid more??? Loved the shower. Always need a comfortable chair for night reading. Good lights. Mattress good. Was disappointed in very plain breakfast after a fantastic brunch. The little touches weren't there but five stars because I would stay again. Location good.

Yelp
I cannot imagine how anyone could find anything wrong with this place!! We came with a group of 8 from Houston for the Kenny Neal Fest & had a lovely time! It is a HISTORIC HOUSE :) It is wonderful and SUPER CLEAN & with very good breakfast included and the staff and owners are amazing! The pool was wonderful and inviting and not one blossom for the trees in it or anything! It was the most FUN weekend in a WONDERFUL destination town! Loved the restaurants & shops nearby as well -all A+ Highly recommended !

Lizabeth K.

Yelp
Very pleasant spot I loved the breakfast, the pool, and the lovely courtyard. It was very quiet and the bed was wonderful. We plan to return again.

Yelp
We stayed here in January and had a very good experience. Check-in was smooth and we were able to upgrade to a room with a jacuzzi for only $10. It was totally worth it. The rooms are snug but not too small, and definitely feel warm and cozy. The bathrooms are surprisingly large and spacious, or at least ours with the hot tub was. Our breakfast was tasty and had a good variety of classic breakfast foods. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The inn itself and the grounds around it are beautiful. The pool was not in use since we visited in winter, but I imagine it would be a treat during summer. There is some cool glass art around the inn, and they have several big fluffy cats that hang out in the area. There is also ample parking. We were only in St. Francisville for one night but we very much enjoyed our night at the St. Francisville Inn.

Christine M.

Yelp
We stayed here Labor Day weekend and it was great. A quaint b&b with good amenities and a great location. Very good breakfast in the morning too! Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Fun country inn and restaurant in the back country. Good basic food. Friendly servers. Good prices. Convenient with plenty of parking

Mary Elizabeth W.

Yelp
I spent Thanksgiving here and loved the peace and tranquility of this little BnB! I would love to return in the summer when the flowers are blooming and the pool is open!

Susan G.

Yelp
This place is a must go to Inn & Restaurant! Both are excellent- beautiful place- great food & atmosphere- the best customer service- lovely wine bar & patio area- a historic step back in time. I can't say enough about this place- but I sure can't wait to go back. Thanks for such an unreal time- I miss Harlow your cat! Susan Gibeault, New Orleans

Jaxk M.

Yelp
This is an inn that I will never return too.The rooms are extremely cheaply made, the WiFi signal is one that you haft to reconnect too every 10 minutes at least, the outdoor area of the inn is the best part of it since it doesn't actually make you pay for money to swim in the pool, unlike the rest of the inn which make you pay too much money for things are are simply way too overpriced. The management is extremely intrusive and does not respect privacy between families who are enjoying breakfast or dinner at all.Constantly attempting to have conversations which are to only advertise the inns "many" features. The bar is what I can respectively say is the worst part about the inn, considering that if you would like to purchase a whole bottle of wine there,it will be at least $200.For one bottle of wine.Bottles of wine, mind you, that you could find at a simple grocery store for $15 each."The good stuff", they called it when it is simply the most simple bottles of wine that you could imagine are made. This inn requires at least for you too pay $300 a night just too experience the features that are said to be "the best parts of the inn" when in reality it is a expensive motel at best.Absolutely the worst inn I have ever been at considering how overpriced it is.

Amy S.

Yelp
This establishment is in great need of repairs and a thorough cleaning. The rooms are tidy, but the carpet needs replaced. The gardens and court yards are unkept. It is basically a nice house that has seen better days.
