St. George's Cathedral

Had a lovely time getting blessed and getting my paska blessed for Easter. There is a lot of history in this beautiful place.

🇺🇦Perfect in its architectural style, the cathedral is situated not far from the city center that you can reach it on foot in 15-20 minutes of regular walk. Peaceful place with not too many people since it’s not the city center, except holidays & weekend. 🇺🇦Mornings & day time is the best to visit this peace of art. Inside, the cathedral is decorated with icons & statues. The walls are painted in calm white color. 🇺🇦During weekends, holidays & evening mess you may meet lots of people & hear gospel in Ukrainian, as well as Polish according to schedule. For kids there are bible studies, in Ukrainian.

Beautiful Catholic Cathedral! It's a bit uphill walk from the old town. Constructed between 1744 - 1760, the baroque-rococo style church is impressive!

Every time I see this place, I am surprised by its state of decay and disrepair. One would think that the Ukrainian Catholic Church would have found the money to renovate this symbolic historical structure during the 30 or so years it owns the buildings. Most people see the front and the inside of the cathedral, but it is worthwhile to take a walk around the whole place, to see it from different sides, and also from the Horodotska Street, where the view is “beautifully” obstructed by the circus that was built there in 1960’s.

An amazing church with rich history and stunning baroque architecture, of exceptional historical, religious and political importance to Ukrainians. Sculptural masterpieces of European and world significance. The Metropolitan's palace on site. Make sure to get a local guidebook to fully appreciate what you see there.

Quite nice and inspiring place. It is very accessible you can com in anytime of the day. It needs a bit of repair here and there. But since it is for free it is ok. The Cathedral is not always opened however most of the time it is opened during weekends and service time. But overall the compound is quite nice.

Beautiful Catholic Church, with active masses and church services ongoing. Not as popular with the tourists in the city center. More local people in attendance for service and prayer compared to the Latin Church. Tall altar and walls, beautifully decorated on all sides. Many stations and relics to petition divine help.

A beautiful cathedral with authentic sculptures on facade. Definitely worth visiting. It looks magnificent in twilight
