St. Jacob's Church

Such a beautiful church! We stumbled upon it while visiting the Friday market nearby and decided to take a look inside. I’m so glad we did — the artwork and stained-glass windows are absolutely gorgeous. It’s quiet and peaceful, with hardly any tourists, which makes it even nicer. We sat there for a while just soaking in the calm atmosphere. A lovely hidden gem in Ghent that’s definitely worth a visit!

A really beautiful and awe-inspiring church! The church is built in romanesque / gothic style and the oldest parts are dated to early 12th century. It has been greatly expanded throughout the centuries, which is why it is a mix of different architechtural styles. Maybe not as well-known as the Saint Bavo's cathedral but this is definitely a place that you should visit in Ghent!

A good place to visit in Gent

I felt as if there was Dracula living in the highest tower of this church. Really amazing piece of architecture. There is a market organized on Friday as far as I can remember.
