After a recommendation, we booked the hotel for one night New Year’s Eve 24/25. The hotel is very well located very near the centre of Nottingham, Nottingham Castle, trip to Jerusalem a historic pub, and many other interesting places. Parking is next door and discounted for people staying at the hotel. The staff were all friendly and obliging.||||That’s where the good stuff ends.||||The room including breakfast was slightly over £160. I was expecting a smart tidy hotel. The reception area is okay, from there on the lift up to our room was dirty shabby and not very fresh inside.(smelly). Along the corridor to our room it was just the same and everybody commented about the smell of marijuana. Our room door opened up into a tired, shabby room. No mini bar no fridge although did have kettle/tea making facilities. I sat and looked around the room And could see scratches scrapes marks on ceilings walls dirty areas in the bathroom i.e. brown stains where they shouldn’t be. I was disappointed as I have stayed in another hotels in Nottingham overnight and they aren’t the Ritz but were less shabby.||||Come on best Western restore this place it’s ideally situated.||||Breakfast was 5 out of 10 mainly due to the fact that all the buffet contents had been out for a long time and were overcooked by the time we got there. Toaster worked fine provided you didn’t mind putting your bread through three times.||||To confirm all staff seemed friendly and hard-working, they were just let down by the condition of the building

My husband and I travelled up for the Nottingham Christmas Market. I chose this hotel because, although pricey, it was well located and has a car park right next door.|If you are going for the same reason or a night out around the town, this is a good choice. Well located hotel, could do with some updating, I found our room a little dark and as some parts were a little dated, it made the overall feel less clean. Very spacious room though, nice big comfortable bed and a nice range of complimentary items. Lots of space for the luggage. Nice big shelves in the bathroom for all of my toiletries.|Buffet breakfast was enjoyable, good choice and nice and hot, which isn’t always the case with buffets. Receptionist whose name I regrettably didn’t note down was lovely. She was welcoming and informative reference the Car parking.

We needed an hotel close to the city centre and this hotel met that requirement very well. The room was small as expected for the price but adequate. There was nowhere to hang damp towels, and a most annoying hum from the power box in the wardrobe. The bed had been made so firmly it was impossible to pull the covers up during the night. |Most annoying though was the hotel car park. I was instructed to drive the wrong way down a one way street to a narrow alleyway where the garage was located. It was 3 or 4 minutes walk back to the hotel. The NCP car park was closer and easier to access. |When we came to leave several cars had parked legally but inconsiderately close to the exit. This, combined with work being done in the narrow alleyway, meant I couldn't get out of the car park at all. In the 20 minutes or more it took to get the cars moved, and to manoeuvre around the holes in the road, I damaged my own car which is very frustrating. I wouldn't use the car park again.

We have stayed at this hotel before and absolutely love the location. So near the train station and town centre that we just walk everywhere. Stayed 3 nights. |I am just beginning to feel the hotel needs some TLC. The decor is beginning to look very tired and I felt our room, especially the carpet needs refreshing. Room 305. On a plus the shower was hot, powerful and shower gel etc provided. The room was refreshed daily which was appreciated.

Expected good things after reading some positive reviews and looking at pictures of the hotel, but I was extremely disappointed. The room was filthy, there was thick cobwebs on the ceilings, dirty sheets (that just about fit the bed too), stained towels, thick dust on the carpet. The decor was also dated, the paint was chipping everywhere and the bathroom was just old and barely functional (poor shower pressure and a toilet that hardly flushed). Every time I went to talk to a member of staff there was never anyone on the front desk. The bed was extremely uncomfortable (probably why they leave you a sleep mist next to your bed). Definitely not worth the money which is a shame. Only positive is the location of the hotel.

This is a review of the afternoon tea at the hotel restaurant. My friend booked a large group groupon and the standard afternoon tea was good. I'd called them in advance to check that they could do a vegetarian gluten free version and they said yes.|On the day they brought out all the standard cakes and sandwiches and said that mine would be a while and then disappeared. When I asked at the bar they said they hadn't got the GF message and that they could make me a sandwich but that was it. In the end they bought me a couple of meringues and some sandwiches with a slice of cucumber in one and lettuce in the other. There was no offer of a refund or an explanation so it was really disappointing watching everyone else with their lovely cakes.

Just wanted to thank the restaurant team including superstar Ryan who managed to squeeze me and my grandaughter in for afternoon tea on Saturday.. We had ad such a lovely time and it was a lovely touch when a little cake with a candle came out and the extra scones and Jam we were given to take away! Such brilliant service and can’t recommend it enough!! Thank you all so much!

Far far better than other hotel chains. Very central right opposite the castle.A 10 minute walk from the rail station. Room very cosy with good facilities and a good shower. Gorgeous lounge bar and restaurant.
