"One of the largest, and most laid-back, of Antigua ’s resorts, St. James Club & Villas, on Mamora Bay, about five minutes from English Harbour, has long been a favorite of couples and families. As at many all-inclusives, the dining can occasionally bring back memories of school lunch programs, but the free Kidz Club and four wedding gazebos let everyone know it is their kind of place. On one of the two beaches, Mamora Bay, the waves gently lap; on the other, Coco Beach, the surf crashes. Among the six pools, two are adults-only, and one is just for kids."

We had a great family trip. Resort itself needs some good renovation. We had premium room in the Hibiscus Building and furniture here might need some updating. Everything else was great. Nice atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, life music during diner, beautiful beaches and hidden gems. Food was great, we enjoyed every meal. Weather was awesome . We booked trip from the resort, called Pink Panther. Women named Yahaira took us to the most beautiful places on the Island. We ate mangoes straight from the tree and tasted other local fruits. Highly recommended!!!! |Thank you for this unforgettable time St. James Club:)

My stay at the St. James's Club kicked off with a splash of excitement! The Pink Panther Historical Tour—led by our guide, the ever-smooth and hilarious Joy—was a ride to remember. Between the heat, the laughs, and the endless photo ops, we locked in some unforgettable memories.||Later, I cooled things down with a laid-back "Sip and Sunset" session at Docksider. Vibes? Immaculate. Then came dinner at the oh-so-fancy Piccolo Mondo, where the service was top-tier and the food? Chef’s kiss. I went for the coconut shrimp and, let me tell you, it was a flavor explosion—highly recommend!||The grand finale? Karaoke at the Jacaranda Lounge. I sang, I danced, I probably hit a few questionable notes—but it was a total blast and the perfect way to cap off the night.||The next morning, I hit Rainbow Garden for breakfast. I’m all about that buffet life—nothing like having all your cravings on one plate. Only downside? Some uninvited feathered guests. Yep, the birds were bold and clearly thought they booked all-inclusive too. Wrapped things up with lunch at 11/11 Restaurant—top-notch service and food that hit the spot. A perfect ending to an unforgettable little getaway.

Overall it was a great stay. The staff were friendly and attentive. Service for the reserved dinner time slots were alittle too slow, and portions were too small. We should have ordered a few items maybe if that is possible. We ended up stopping at the buffet for alittle more food afterwards. The music was always great to listen to in the evenings. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge chairs near the bar listening with a drink before and after dinner at the docksider. Disappointed about the seaweed on the beach, but we understand it is seasonal and is constantly coming in. Too bad there is not a better solution rather than the tractors and by hand. Like a net or something quicker. We felt bad for them having to work so hard on that for so long too. Didn’t realize how big of a resort it was and it is all pretty spread out so I could see how anyone older or with disabilities may struggle. It did help to keep us in better shape though.

This is a very solid 4 star all inclusive! I read other very negative reviews and am honestly confused. The food was good, especially the Caribbean buffet and the breakfast is solid. The rooms were clean, a bit outdated but clean and well air conditioned. There were plenty of activities to choose from, pickle ball, tennis, paddle boats etc..||Very good value for the money, and the staff was really good as well. Probably the best staff I’ve experienced in the Caribbean and blew away a couple of five star places in that regards. I would go back, absolutely.

I could write a book on the many things wrong with this resort. Most of the staff is uncaring or indifferent to the guest. It is a miracle when you find a staff member that is willing to help you. They will yes you when you ask for something but then not deliver on their service. For exampled, asked for towels and never delivered that day. Asked for luggage to be stored in a secure location until check in, and it was never stored and just left in a public area. Staff will not help with carrying your luggage up and down stairs. Wake up calls requested on a daily basis and only two out of eight days was a call received. The room is not cleaned on a daily basis and sheets are not changed daily, even when you ask them to. There are many birds flying, eating, and pooping on your breakfast, as the breakfast room is full of annoying birds on a constant basis each and every day. The same goes with lunch at the beach. They have a major and disgusting problem with birds eating and pooping in your food. Birds will even fly into your room if the door or sliding door is open. The beach has tons of seaweed and the water is brown, not blue from the seaweed. The seaweed also stinks up the area, same smell as raw sewage. Only 2 bottles of water given for your entire stay and this is with an all inclusive package. Liquor given is at the lowest level. The resort claims many restaurants, however some are closed certain days, so you are limited. Some require reservations but must be made the same day, so if you are out touring, you cannot make them. The location of the property is far from everything and you cannot walk out to find something, as no stores are near the resort. You must take expensive taxi rides to go anywhere. This is just the start of my book as I can continue onward with things that are wrong here. My recommendation is to avoid this resort if possible.

Six of us did the pink panther tour today with Gabby and Yahira. What a picture perfect day. Beautiful scenery, very knowledgeable and friendly guides. First stop Devils Bridge, very pretty scenery. Next up Shirley Heights, also beautiful and overlooked the English Harbor. Then on to Nelsons dock, nice piece of history. Our last stop was pigeon cove beach. What a gorgeous spot to end our day! |Highly recommended and we'd do it again! Best tour guides ever and we even got some amazing mango souvenirs, thanks Yahira😉

This was our 4th time in Antigua, but first at St. James Club.||Rooms| We booked a beachfront room, and we absolutely loved it. While the bathroom was a bit dated, they were working on the section next to us, so assuming they're updating the rooms. The king size bed was comfy, the balcony large. I think the only thing I would have liked was more lighting in the room and maybe a makeup mirror. |We did view the premium rooms, which were nice and located closer to the main lobby and Rainbow restaurant.|The junior suites were nice, bathrooms updated and spacious.|The Royal Suites...their bathrooms were enormous with a nice soaking tub and walk in shower. The view is Mamora Bay and lovely.|We did not get to see the Villas, but these are overlooking Mamora Bay and looked beautiful from the outside. ||The beaches: ||Coco's beach is lovely, a bit rocky, so bring water shoes. Unfortunately, our 3rd day there, we had a bad storm that brought in the sargassum. The workers worked tirelessly cleaning the beach daily, but we were unable to go into the water for the rest of our stay. Our last day they were making great progress, and while we were told it could take weeks to clear, it took them less than a week. |On the other side of the hotel is Mamora Bay. While beautiful to look at, it was more like a large lake and just not for us, as we are definitely ocean people.|This is where you'll find the snorkel gear, sunfish, kayaks, etc. ||Restaurants||The first night we ate at Rainbow (this restaurant is open for buffet breakfast daily) and it was fabulous. That was the only night it was open for dinner, but they "opened" down at the Docksider Restaurant for certain nights (as Rainbow) and reservations were needed. By far the best menu and the food was delicious. Shout out to Joel and Vallie, you made our stay even more memorable!||Cocos||We ate there only once (and that was enough). Twice they got my order wrong and when it did show up, it wasn't worth the wait. ||Eleven-11||Great place for lunch and the food was great!||Beach Bar and Grill||Next to Docksider, great little place for lunch, best hot dog ever!||Docksider||When it's not Rainbow (and again, you will need reservations it is, contrary to what the website says) it's a buffet. Food was always good and so many choices.||I have to mention the coffee shop. It's so pretty, built around trees and you feel almost like you're in a treehouse. The pastries changed daily and they were fabulous! The coffee was strong, and the refreshers were delicious.||Picolo Mondo-we did not try this as one couple said it was good, but didn't find it worth the upcharge. ||The pools||6 pools, 4 of which we could use (2 are for guests of the Royal Suites and looked rather small).||We used 2, one near the Eleven -11 and the largest one near Rainbow with a bar, which was beautiful. ||Activities||There wasn't much going on at night, or maybe we were just tired from all day in the sun and we missed it. They're was a band one night and always someone on stage singing during dinner at Docksider.||We did not make use of any of the non-motorized sports nor the tennis courts. ||The Spa||We did go for a couple's massage and it was fabulous! They were having a 50% off special and we made use of it. Quite possibly the best massage ever. Very quite and serene, located under the Picolo Mondo restaurant.||The Staff||Most everyone we came into contact with was wonderful. Most always said"good morning, how are you", etc. I think the only people that may need to "cheer up" were the people at the concierge desk making dining reservations. They appeared bored to me and while they got the job done, they added nothing at all to the experience.||Shout out to our taxi driver Benji, he was wonderful. He took us into English Harbour and was right there within minutes when we called for our pickup. ||While the hotel appears to be large and spread out, you'll find it's quite walkable and we discovered many shortcuts to where we wanted to go. |All in all our stay was wonderful and the people of Antigua are fabulous (which is why we keep returning).

The food was better than my previous experience at Costa Rica Dreams. They said they have room service but only for an extra fee and only at night. Bottled water was an extra purchase as well. The resort was quiet and definitely not a singles dream which was fine with us. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed on the Atlantic side but could access the Caribbean side by walking 200 yards across the street. The spa was outstanding. I would not pay extra again for the Italian restaurant as it was a little disappointing. The nightly entertainment was fun. The jerk chicken was delicious. Don't be afraid to take a taxi in to town. Overall we were happy and felt very relaxed.
