"One of the largest, and most laid-back, of Antigua ’s resorts, St. James Club & Villas, on Mamora Bay, about five minutes from English Harbour, has long been a favorite of couples and families. As at many all-inclusives, the dining can occasionally bring back memories of school lunch programs, but the free Kidz Club and four wedding gazebos let everyone know it is their kind of place. On one of the two beaches, Mamora Bay, the waves gently lap; on the other, Coco Beach, the surf crashes. Among the six pools, two are adults-only, and one is just for kids."

So we’re home now from 10 nights in St James Club and what a fabulous time we had! Truly relaxing and wanted for nothing!|Arrived 4th Oct, travelled with BA and what a warm welcome from the team! We used Blacki Taxis, Charlie collected us from airport and what a lovely guy! Def recommend.|We were upgraded to Royal Suite almost touching the bay! Wow! Beautiful Rooms, own pool for royal suite guests! |This resort is spotlessly clean, manicured gardens. Staff so warm and will do anything for you. We forgot to buy toothpaste and the shop had run out, reception called a taxi to swing by a shop and buy some for us!! How’s that for service!!|The food is lovely, remember October is not at full capacity so some restaurants closed but you are honestly extremely well catered for in those open.|The beach is gorgeous, ocean side was recovering from sargassum, poor boys cleaning relentlessly to clear for guests.|Bay not a sign of sargassum,|I’ll not list everything there is to do in resort as the web site does that all I want to get across is how wonderful the resort is and that you can book with confidence that you’ll have a brilliant time!|We’ve stayed at 3 resorts on the island and St James elevated value for money. This hotel is a good price point and you certainly feel that you’re in a luxury environment. The beds and pillows are so comfortable, I mean really comfortable! Bedding very high end!|Too many staff to call out individually as all looked after is so well.|The General Manager leads by example as always visible and I started to wonder when he actually sleeps, chipping in with glass collection, table clearing etc. Very engaging with guests.|So all I wanted to leave is confidence in booking this place it’s wonderful, we were sad to leave.

We have recently come back from St James's Club and Villas and it was a lovely stay. We stayed in the royal suites and had premium alcohol at all bars. It included 2 private pools and a private adults only bar. Denisha was amazing. Her service and hospitality was impeccable. We requested cocktails that weren't on the list and she made them with no fuss! We loved having her daily at the pool. Ozzie was also fantastic. Him and his team kept us entertained during a hurricane. He always bought enthusiasm to everyone and cheered everyone up. He truly loves his job and entertaining the guests. Wilson was the best at making espresso martinis. He was the most exceptional barman, always concocting new drinks for us to try. Riaan has recently taken over as GM and things are on the up for this resort. He provides the most amazing customer service and does everything he can to keep the guests happy. Milton, the F&B manager, always checked in with us throughout our stay ensuring everything was to standards. He was always polite and trying to improve the service when needed. |Great range of food throughout our stay with different themes per day also including live music at dinner. Loved that I could have eggs royale for breakfast every day. |Loads of sunbeds to choose from. |Car hire available on site which was handy and cheap. |They're are a range of restaurants, but due to us visiting out of season, these we shut for renovations. This hasn't put us off from returning as all in all, it was a great stay and lovely resort. Would definitely recommend!

A great hotel with fantastic, engaging and helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble although things do occasionally move at Antiguan pace. ||There is an excellent selection of drinks including premium spirits within the all inclusive package and available for 15 hours daily (not that you need it). There is also a good range of food on offer although there is room for improvement at some locations. A visit to Piccolo Mondo is recommended should you visit but note that long trousers are required for men.||Our room (Royal Suite) was maintained to a high standard and regularly serviced.||Even though there was some renovation work being undertaken to some room blocks and some guest areas (Mamora Bay beach bar and the nearby pool), this was managed in such a way that it had no impact upon our stay. The beach on Mamora Bay is a great spot with plenty of water sports on off as well as the beach grill and bar (this is different to the bar mentioned above)||The new General Manager, Rianne is very approachable and looks to engage with guests whenever he can. He is clearly very passionate about the resort. We also spoke with other staff members who appreciate his management have said that he is making a real change to the resort.

As an extended family group of twelve (from two to senior), we recently visited St James’s Resort for ten days and review it positively as a most enjoyable break.||We found the staff across most of the resort to be engaging and helpful and we rarely passed any that did not give a cheery and smiling welcome or chat, especially with the children.||As a low season visit, not every restaurant was open for every meal, but there were always enough choices and options to satisfy our group. Meals were good, a mixture of buffet and a la carte. Drinks as plentiful as you wanted and branded.||The management is visible and interactive, and very frontline, even at senior level. We encountered an issue with a dining reservation, which was addressed promptly. Life is such that occasionally things do go wrong, but responses measure the ethos and customer care of of a place. Staff/managers here evidently go the extra mile to steadfastly find timely and happy solutions. ||The responsiveness was demonstrated too when Tropical Storm Jerry was scheduled to batter the area, with a well-established process to protect guests, staff, buildings and facilities. Watersports and furnishing around the site were secured. Meals were moved away from the wooden beachfront and exposed locations to the main restaurant for about 36 hours. Entertainment continued though and at dinner, despite the storm, we enjoyed an excellent saxophonist/singer/group, who were exceedingly well received by most guests. Some staff were able to stay the night on site.||The resort has beautiful, well-maintained grounds. Plants damaged by the storm were swiftly cleared. Sports facilities and watersports were readily available. There is an extensive book swap library with quite a wide-ranging genre.||The electric buggy service seemed to work well around the site and waits for one were minimal.||We made limited use of the spa: the massage was excellent but the Indian head massage format a little odd.||Although I have visited other Elite Resorts, this was the first time at St James’s and I hope not the last. Thank you to all the staff who went the extra mile throughout our visit to make the trip so memorable.

My Wife and I just returned from a weeks stay at the St James Club in Antigua. Let me start by saying how friendly everyone at the resort is. Very customer focused and willing to help. ||We upgraded to the Royal Suites. The room was very spacious and looked out over Mamora Bay. Great for some beautiful sunsets! ||For the most part, the food was fantastic. Dinner buffets were probably our least favorite. The Ala Carte restaurants were great. Our favorites were the Beach Bar and Eleven Eleven. Being able to eat fresh catch of the day was awesome! The other nice thing was that every restaurant had Vegan and Vegetarian options available. ||Surprisingly, every bar served top shelf liquor. My Wife had Grey Goose or Absolut Vodka, and I generally had Crown Royal or Jack Daniel’s. ||A very special shout out General Manager Riann! When it rained a couple of days, due to flooding in the area, they had to shut down certain restaurants so they could fully staff the buffet. I was none too happy about limited choices but Riann made every effort to make us happy and during a private dinner celebrating my Wife’s birthday, he even came and gave her a present! ||We would highly recommend the St James Club!

We (group of 35) attended a destination wedding at st James. Most stayed for 7 days, some left earlier. The entire staff was beyond helpful and patient with all us. We had so many questions and interest and they accommodated everyone. The wedding coordinator made the wedding day unbelievably fantastic. I don’t think she could’ve don’t it better. A great experience all around. The food, drinks, rooms, atmosphere, activities, and kindness were all top notch. 10/10

The staff was absolutely amazing, friendly and accommodating!! The food was decent, beach wasn't the best but was peaceful and the beach bar food was delicious. Would definitely return and recommend only if you don't care too much about the beach as it is very seaweed full.
