St John Brewers - Tap Room Brewpub

Great vibe and great food! The hubs and I sat at the bar and people watched. The Caesar salad and pizza were just what we needed after a day on the water. They have many self brewed beers, seltzers and mixed drinks on tap + a cocktail menu, there is something for everyone here. The bartender was super nice and our food came out fast. We plan to go back with the kids before we go home, this is one of our favorite places to eat on the island. Recommend!!

The goat cheese lamb sliders were very good. Make it a meal by adding a side of broccoli. Highly recommend! P.S. The beer is fantastic too!

Had a great lunch while out on our boating excursion, and had some Juicy Booty IPA! Staff was excellent, food and beer were great! Happy we stopped here!

Really enjoyed our dinner here, to get to it you have to walk back and upstairs. We were quickly seated and got in with a minute to spare for happy hour to save $2 per pint of their excellent craft beer. We got the buffalo wings to start and they were so juicy and delicious. Then we split the BBC pizza and it was amazing, fresh ingredients and a nice kick, all the flavors paired well together. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Definitely put this on your list of dinner spots in St John, esp if you enjoy good beer!

Always a favorite spot for food and beers. We stop in several times a week to enjoy the local company. Got to have a Mahi Mahi Tacos and a 'Root' beer! Until next time! Oh My Goodness...Try the Shrimp burger. Issac is back and new items are popping up on the menu soon. Ask for the day's specials!

This was such a positive surprise, we got here by accident, but everything was great! We had the nachos, a pizza and the steak and cheese wrap. Great food and the beer selection was excellent 👌👍

We had a phenomenal time eating and drinking at St John Brewers! The tap room space at mongoose junction is really cool and all the beers were PHENOMENAL. I try and stop at local breweries whenever I travel and I must say that every beer I had here was top notch (and I tried them all!). Definitely don't sleep on their homemade root beer, ginger beer, lemonade and the SHANDYS! The food was also really tasty. Classic pub fare and really hit the spot. Service was fantastic - all the servers and bartenders were so nice, friendly, and welcoming of all our questions!

Great service, delicious food with outdoor seating. The cheesy bread appetizer is like a pizza with a tasty marinara sauce. My favorite appetizer was the baked tropical poppers. The pizza here is delicious. I really enjoyed the baked wings (not fried). The Mediterranean chicken wrap was good. The rum with house rootbeer was amazing. 👍👍

First off, Molly was excellent. Super super friendly, helpful and on her game. Great service. The place is very nice. The AC felt great on a hot day. We were all famished and ready to eat. We got the pizza, wings and steak and cheese wrap. Everything was excellent. We tried two flights of beers and ciders. Nothing really stood out, but all were decent. Again, I can't say enough about Molly and her service. You should clone her;-) Nicely done.

Place looks like a sports bar/video arcade. Not the best first impression. The pizza was very good. The burger was ok, not great. Fries were good, but nothing exceptional. The Caesar salad was very good. The one area they really need to address is how to prepare/serve a meal that is more than one course. We got our salad, burger, and pizza all at the same time. Not what we had wanted or expected. Overall, serve was good except for the timing. If you want a salad, then your main course, I recommend you clearly state that when ordering. Overall, a solid place to get a casual meal on STJ.

September 6, 2024 and 4 of us went for dinner. Huge selection of beers, many brewed on site. Decent selection of wines and NA beverages as well. Great selection of pizzas including build your own. Too bad a few items were left off of ours. The burgers were good. The lamb sliders were fabulous!

Service was great both nights we went. Draft beers were a draw, as many places in town have just cans/bottles. Had Mahi sandwiches the first night. House wine was good. Pale Ale and IPAs were great. Second trip my wife had pizza because we saw others eating it and it looked fresh, nicely topped, and was yummy! I had Mahi again as it was great, and menu is not terrible deep. Sit on the small porch and watch nutty tourists navigate parking, happy hour runs from 4-6 with $1 off draft beers and $5 off pizzas. Nice folks, great beer, typical prices for Cruz Bay.

Awesome lamb sliders on the appetizer menu! I had them as a main and order fries. I could not make up my mind on a drink so I got a flight. The tequila lime soda was the absolute best! Second best was the toasted coconut brown ale but really nothing was bad.

Loved it here. Super cute and there were a lot of menu options. We ordered the nachos to go with our beers, and they were great! The bbq drizzle on top was a game changer. I ordered the flight of beers. My favorite is definitely the Juicy Booty IPA. I love that they have flights as an option. Especially in a new area on vacation with all new beers, it can be tricky to choose just one and be sure you'd like it. This was a great alternative!

The Taproom is a gem--don't miss it! It's near the east end of Mongoose Junction. We sat on the small balcony and enjoyed a couple local IPA's (Juicy Booty Hazy/Sky Flower), and shared the Warm Bavarian Pretzel (1/3/24). The pretzel was a generous size, and just perfect with the ice cold IPA's. Service was friendly and relaxed, and no one made us feel guilty about taking a table at the dinner hour, just to have a couple beers. If you go to St. John, don't miss the local beers! They are wonderful! We like hoppy, flavorful beers, but not TOO hoppy, and these fit the bill perfectly. You can get STJ Brewers products across the island, but it's nice to drink them from the source! Head to The Taproom!

I wanted to like this place but just didn't. They have a very small outdoor seating area, but we got there early for dinner and only had a 10 minute wait. The view from their outdoor area is of the parking lot. The server recommended lemonade that they make in-house so I got some. It was carbonated and not very sweet but somehow lacking in true lemon flavor. I mentioned that I didn't like it and she took it off the bill. I ordered the BBQ pork nachos. The sauce had a good flavor but was so spicy hot that it literally burned my lower lip. I had ordered a bunch of extra veggies on top but they were diced tiny and the excessive sauce covered everything and made all of the chips super soggy. The cheeseburger enjoyed by my dinner partner was ok. This might be a good place to grab a beer (maybe a burger?) in town, but I would stick to that.

We LOVED this place... Rum & root beer, who knew? Then a mule with rum & their ginger beer... I'm sorry that I didn't get the name of the woman that served us (Kim maybe?) but she was lovely, taking such good care of us... also recommended the name of a restaurant around the corner that was fantastic! We bought shirts & rum to go... Enjoy!

Best brew in the island and fabulous food. Service was fast, friendly, and fun. Best way to go is to grab a few appetizers and a pizza to share for the table and sample a few of their craft brews. They make an amazing root beer for the non-drinkers/designated Jeep jockey in the group. Restaurant is enclosed and air conditioned unlike a lot of places in Cruz Bay for those that need a break from the heat and humidity.

Really only great thing was the smash burger my son got. The German pretzel was a 6" stick. The chicken wings were mediocre. Hubby got a wrap that was mediocre at best. Service was great. Idk her name but she was helpful. Atmosphere was nice.

Kids wanted pizza for lunch but I wanted something relatively healthy so we checked out this place. Kids loved the pizzas, loaded with toppings. Wife had the margarita pizza which she enjoyed. I ordered the grilled fish tacos which were good. The service was great, especially for STJ. Plus they have a couple of video games and a photo booth to keep the kids busy as they prepare the food. The only reason for 4 stars is they charged me a dollar for hot sauce to put on the fish. Haha. They make it themselves but to charge for condiments is silly, especially when I bought a bottle of the sauce to go.

This was a great place for St. John's beer and dinner! My daughter joined me for this adventure. She had the root beer and said it was great! Along with the pizza pictured below! The staff was very nice, open and attentive! Was a great time and nice St. John brewing beer selection available! They also have a nice merchandise collection in the boutique downstairs for purchase as well! We will be back!

The restaurants nice, however the hostess was having a bad day. We had Eric as our waiter and he did a great job. Nachos were OK. Was disappointed that they use nacho cheese sauce. Had the avocado burger and it was very good.

Went there for appetizers. All the food looked really good. You have to try the Mediterranean trio!! They seem to be known for a lot of their beers on tap & the wide variety of pizza. Vegan options available.

I had the meat lover's pizza and it was one of the best pizzas I've had in quite a while. The service was perfect. Our server was very patient with our many questions about all the menu choices. In town, parking is tight, but we were able to find a place. That's a plus! When I return to St. John, USVI, I must return to the Tap Room to try more of their menu offerings.

Food was not good. Service was arrogant and not good. That about sums it up. Here are more "characters" as required by yelp.

Our waiter was really nice and attentive. The pizza we ordered was okay - definitely not the best. The drinks and atmosphere were great. Will return next time we're in St. John to try something else off the menu.

Full disclosure: we did not eat here. But that's okay because they have SO MANY good beers and seltzer's! You'll find the Seltzer's all over the islands! My boyfriend had a couple beers, which he said were good, but I could go on and on about their seltzer's forever. I've looked for them on the mainland since we got back. They're hands down the bests ones - light, refreshing, you literally can't taste anything. You would seriously think it's flavored water! The place was super clean, and service was quick and attentive. We only had a few drinks but she continued to check on us. Highly recommend a stop in for a few refreshing drinks midday!

We stopped in on a recent Sunday night while visiting St John. Wait time was about 30 mins so we shopped while we waited for our text that said our table was ready. Food was good, served pretty quickly. Our server was great. If you check-in with the yelp app, you get a free pretzel with the purchase of 2 beers. Restaurant was strict with wearing masks until seated at table.

My friends and I meticulously searched for a place to have dinner and chose this location based on price. I got the jerk chicken sandwich and my friends got the blue burger and veggie pizza. First of all, kudos for making the jerk chicken sandwich with Cajun remoulade sauce as it's not on the menu we were given, but it is on the online menu. It was juicy and full of flavor. The blue burger was also good, per my friends' review. Now let's talk about the veggie pizza. It was the most visually disappointing and disgusting pizza we have ever encountered. There was zero flavor, hardly any sauce and the veggies were raw. It left a lot to be desired, especially for $20.

Great service & GREAT pizza! We were out paddle boarding and snorkeling all day and came for their Happy Hour. We were so happy we did. We decided to try their BBC pizza and Margarita pizza. Both were incredibly satisfying!

Super dope place. In a touristy plaza that looks made for cruise ship tourists but has super sweet architecture and vibes. Came here during the Covid pandemic so things were low key. After hitting up Trunks Beach, we bounced around looking for grub. I wanted to find something super local-really wish there were complete home in the wall spots on these islands that the locals only go to but that's irrelevant to this experience ... Showed up with about 20 min to spare for happy hour ($1 off beers and $5 off pizzas). We sat outside on a balcony but were afraid we'd be missed by the waitstaff for hh so I peaked in and got there attention (sorry, I wasn't trying to be an ass!). Got the BBC (bbq bacon and chicken pizza), blackened mahi mahi sandwich, two pints of their own brew of island hopper ipa, a ginger beer soda and root beer soda. The fish sandwich was legit. Large serving of fish. Good bun. The bbc pizza was dope-loaded w ingredients. The beers were good. Could be holier but I can't imagine hops out here are cheap to import. Still good. The waitress was very nice and attentive once we got our order and she helped us close out and to get me a six pack to go since we were In a rush to catch the ferry back to st Thomas.

Great location if you're on St John and shopping around the Moongoose area. Plenty of menu items and you get your moneys worth as they dont skip. First off, they have the Best dang root beer I've had in a while. Tasted like a carbonated root beer hard candy. I down 2 glasses because I haven't had root beer that good in probably a decade. The burgers were seriously delicious also. Definitely not a frozen slab on a crappy bun. The flavor was perfect and the bread they used was gigantic but soft and tasted homemade (not sure if it was though but tasted that good). Wait staff was friendly and we were able to get in quick. It's nothing fancy inside but big enough to host a lot of people and the food was worth it.

Found this place by accident. After a long day at the beach this was the first place we saw on the side of the road as you enter the town. The fish tacos were amazing. 3 taco was way to much for me to eat on my own. They are larger then your standard street tacos. The 1/2 rack of ribs was mouth watering. It fell off the bone. The broccoli looked like it was airfried with butter and spices. The Mac and cheese was some of the best I have had. It was not drenched in cheese. Just enough to coat the macaroni. Overall, Family friendly bar with a great variety of items in the menu.

Very good spot for a more low key casual dinner. Great burgers and fries. It's St John's answer to 5 guy's.

Just had a delicious lunch at The Tap Room . We enjoy it a lot in the summer , as it has central air conditioning. But I have to say I just enjoyed the BEST steak and cheese wrap I've ever had . The wrap was simply fabulous. Lots of shredded beef , loaded with melted cheese and peppers . I'd eat this warp every day !! It's not a fancy treat , but it is delivered with absolute perfection !! Simply the best darn sandwich on St John ! Nothing else comes close !! My wife had a great " build your own " pizza , and it was amazing too . But if it's perfection that you seek ..... get the steak and cheese wrap . It's heavenly !!!!!

Seemed like a slow night when we came in but it did start to fill up. Beers were good and brewed in house however meals took a while to arrive, about an hour or more. The jerk chicken wrap was very filling and had a hefty amount of chicken. I would come back!

This place is a great meal when you're searching for solid standard American fare. The Mac and cheese was the best I had on the islands and the hot dog and hamburger hit the spot for a filling satisfying meal. The beers were lovely too. Tried the stout and porter. Both were unique and tasty without being too bitter.

On our first evening in St. John, we arrived in the evening without reservations, exhausted and hungry after traveling for nearly 10 hours with only airline snacks. We needed quick sustenance, and walked here on the recommendation of our host. They make a wonderful pizza! My wife and I shared the BBQ chicken pizza, a perfect size for 2. It arrived only minutes after we ordered, and was perfect-- chewy, crunchy crust and elegantly flavored. They have a great selection of beers as well. A very satisfying meal, and the least expensive of our trip to St. John.

Best pizza on the island. Great beers amd wings. One of our favorite spots in St. John. Cant go wrong choosing this place anytime during the day.

It's ok. But they're inconsistent. You can order the same thing you've had before and not get the same thing. I'm sure it's just an issue of who's working in the back from one day to the next but it's a crap shoot. Service is consistently good.

This is hands down the final stop of the STJ day for me on my best planned days! The lite relaxing yet still in a bar feel... Always have great staff and the food is pretty amazing!! Tip: ask for today's specials!! Hopefully you can try the Kale Soup ... Some of my food favs warmed Pretzel with mustard (they also have melted cheese), Greek Salad with grilled or jerk Mahi Mahi, Gyros, Caribbean Jerk Chicken Sandwich. Fav drinks..... they have an incredible lemonade, root beer and ginger Ale!! My new creations off the Tap today they had a Toasted Coconut ! They have from lite to strong IPA brews something for everyone!! Great Atmosphere!!

It was one of our favorite places to go to on the island. Not only is it one of the very few places that had air conditioning, it also had yummy food & drinks. They brew their own root beer, so we had Vanilla Rum & Rootbeers and they were so smooth and delicious that we couldn't get enough. The chicken wings and the poppers were also amazing. We were sad the last night we were there because we wanted more. We thought maybe we could stop by one more time the next day but it was too early when we had to leave. Must go!

Delicious! I had been to the Tap Room two years ago and it was memorable and wonderful. This time we ordered lunch takeout and I had a simply amazing jerk chicken sandwich that I cannot wait to return to have another day. Thank you, Tap Room

The Tap Room offers amazing food with a great atmosphere. The steak wrap may have been my favorite meal. The beer and drink choices are top notch. Kevin, Tim, Kade, and all of the staff welcomed us every time we went there. The Tap Room definitely captures and offers guests the sprit of St. John. Can't wait to visit again.

Awesome place to cool off and have a beer flight or fish tacos!! Our server, Marli (sp?) was great to visit with as well as being an awesome server! First time to the island, and this place did not disappoint!!!

Everything was awesome. The drinks, the food. Not too bad for the value. Their home made root beer + rum drink is killer. I had their fish tacos. Sooo good with their Chipotle aioli sauce.

Ordered pizza and garlic bread . Not very good . Pizza barely had any sauce and dough had weird flavor . Mahi tacos left a lot to be desired . Margarita wasn't made well . Also got some stuffed jalapeño appetizer that sucked . I guess if you are a beer drinker this would be your jam

It's a bit of a scavenger hunt to find this hidden treasure. Well worth the hide and seek game though. Delicious craft beer and cocktails. Get the pretzel bites with beer cheese. Met a fellow traveler at the bar. He's been going in all week to eat! Ask for a tour. Hang with the friendly locals. Staff was cool and engaging. Genuinely. Not that nice for a tip vibe. The kind of folks you can hang on the patio with a beer and talk stories with. Oh wait, we did!

Absolutely disgusting pizza. Ordered the Margherita and vegan. How do you mess up a Margherita? It was chewy, soggy and nothing was fresh. Honestly a frozen digiornio is better. This place should be ashamed to sell this with pride. The one saving grace was the staff was very friendly which makes writing this even tougher.

I would come back to saint john to eat here. I got the blue cheese burger and it was thick, actually cooked to order and freaking delicious Their beer selection was vast and delicious. I had to leave to take the ferry back to st Thomas otherwise may have stayed all night

Great burger and appetizers for those post beach recovery meals! Try a tour of the brewery, and don't forget to check out the boutique shop below the bar! I'm personally a fan of the blackened chicken sandwich (with waffle fries--post storms menu may differ). Try the mango brew, it's a good one. They recently opened up a bigger bar upstairs next to Caravan jewelry store; it's amazing. Beautiful paintings, beautiful handcrafted bar stools and tables.. can't say enough. A great place to check out, good for groups and kids. Don't forget to tip your bartender and server and please don't litter.

Easily the best establishment in St. John's. Best vibes, best staff, and this is going to be important: best prices. Rumor has it this is the only place on the island with beers on tap. I loved that the staff was happy to let you sample before committing. I enjoyed my Mahi sandwich and especially enjoyed my side of pasta salad while my friends devoured their fish tacos. Bonus points for offering to split the check and for the entertainingly educational Trivial pursuit cards on the table.

The pizza was so good! Exactly what we wanted and needed. It's not the soggy-in-the-middle type pizza. It's completely cooked through and delicious. It has super fluffy (maybe handmade?) crust. I had to stop myself from eating the entire pizza. The service was a little slow but I got the sense that that wasn't typical of this place. For context, this review was written post COVID-19 when many restaurants are just starting to open back up and tourists were just welcomed back this week. The waitress was apologetic and we had a few employees checking up on us which was great. Either way, the pizza and drinks were worth the very small wait. Do yourself a favor and don't skip this place.

I concur with Steven S. review that the Mango Pale Ale is a MUST! Pretty much everywhere you go on STT or STJ serves their brew, so it is only customary that you stop in on your first trip over to St. John. You HAVE to got to Mongoose Junction and you HAVE to go to the Tap Room for a beer! The staff is always friendly, especially our favorite fellow Texan Rachel! They offer tours of the brewery on Wednesdays and also have half off pizza during happy hour! Occasionally they do special events where they have all you can drink $5 cans of summer ale with live music and bags. Follow them on their Facebook page to find out when!

Probably not a fair review we went there to get dinner the grill was broken so we had to eat pizza. The pizza was good the other food that we had was good we were just hoping for something else off the grill. We are not beer drinkers but others seem to be having fun.
