A fancied a little stroll through Connaught Village on the morning of 9 May 2024, on my walk from Paddington Station to the office at Marble Arch.
A slight detour and at the end of the road I could see this beautiful building behind some trees. Luckily for me it was open and I stepped into the lobby where posters promoting the church's ethos of inclusivity were displayed. Through the doors into the very simply decorated church. A high ceiling and tall windows let the light flood in, in particular illuminating a more modern stained glass window which made the golden angel shine; it was stunning and I was so fortunate to have walked in at the right time to see that!
There's beautifully carved dark wood near the entrance which contrasts with the pale walls. Commemorative plaques adorn the walls and give pause for thought.
A very calming and serene visit.
