Our stay at the St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort, Casino & Spa was a pleasant getaway, though not quite the 4 star luxury experience we’d hoped for.
**Check-In and Service:**
The check-in process was seamless, with a warm Bonvoy greeting that set the tone for a welcoming stay. The staff at the front desk were genuinely friendly and helpful—truly the highlight of our arrival experience.
**Room:**
The room itself was spacious and comfortable, though it lacked the polish of a true four-star property. We encountered a minor issue with ants in the bedroom and bathroom areas, but otherwise, the space was clean and inviting. The AC was quite loud and didn’t cool below 21°C, which was a bit uncomfortable during the warmer days.
**Dining:**
One of the on-site restaurants was closed for construction during our visit, which was a disappointment. However, the Fire restaurant provided excellent service and a solid dining experience. The breakfast buffet was underwhelming; the food quality left much to be desired and didn’t live up to the rest of the resort’s potential. On the bright side, having the Calypso Café open until 11 pm was a nice convenience, offering a casual spot for late-night bites.
**Casino and Amenities:**
The casino was a proper casino, complete with a bar, and added a fun evening option. The retail shops on the 1st and 2nd floors were a great touch for souvenirs and essentials. However, the elevators were a bit unreliable and stopped working at random times, so we often resorted to using the stairs.
**Beach:**
Beach service was available, albeit quite slow, but at least they did have staff to assist. Unfortunately, the beach itself was covered in seaweed, and the waters on that side of the island were cooler and choppier than the Caribbean side, making swimming less inviting. The wind also made lounging a bit challenging.
**Grounds:**
The resort grounds were well-maintained, with lush landscaping that added to the island vibe.
**Overall:**
While the St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort has some excellent staff and beautiful grounds, it doesn’t quite reach the level of a true four-star resort. The service at check-in and at the Fire restaurant was stellar, but the breakfast quality, room quirks, and other inconveniences (like the elevators and AC) kept this from being an outstanding experience. Still, it’s a solid choice for a mid-range Caribbean getaway, especially if you manage your expectations.
Would I return? Possibly, but with tempered expectations.
