St. Mary's Abbey, Trim

Beautiful and large castle grounds. There is a cafe nearby with a view of the Abbey and other things to make your time comfortable. Good places for wedding puctures. This is a must-see place during your vacation in Ireland.

Breathtaking! The very first Christian town in Ireland, founded by St Loman in 433! Before st Patrick arrived even. Incredible history and authentic beauty. Be sure to cross the bridge and complete the beautiful trim castle walk. The Abby itself is stunning, far taller and positioned on even better land than the Norman castle down the way. Truly giving the best portions to god. St Mary, both of them, Jesus’s mom and the mother of his child Magdalene should be honored along with all saints 🙏

A giant of a structure and you really need to see it for yourself, of course it is surrounded by many other historical sites and with there own charm but for me this is the pinical of majestic, it towers of the town and up close and personal it never disappoints, cheers

Despite its ruins, the grandeur of the remaining structures provides a fascinating glimpse into the past. 📸✨ A must-visit for history enthusiasts and anyone looking to explore Ireland's heritage.

An outstanding ruin - apparently the tallest standing medieval structure at 7 stories. It really does tower over you and you can imagine it being a very prominent structure back in its day. Nice spot to take a picnic if that's your thing as it has nice mowed grass areas around it. It's free and a must see if in Trim.

Didn't know until now that this ruin is the highest medieval building in the whole Ireland! I love this place and I visit it everytime when I come back to Ireland. There is a nice park around it and the city centre is just behind the corner.

Magnificent structure and a really lovely spot for a walk or sit down in the grass views of Trim castle and the river Boyne just below and the bridge back towards the castle and town
