St. Mary's Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception

Beautiful, peaceful and unexpectedly grand given the urban setting. We love Romanesque architecture, so we were of course, immediately charmed. The marble, stained glass and symmetry, gave the cathedral a certain presence. We were surprised by the ease of (free!) parking and it’s a nice short comfortable visit for someone who enjoys sacred architecture or just need some peace and quiet for a few minutes. Roman Catholics may enjoy the site even more, but it’s worthwhile for anyone to visit.

Oh my gosh, this church is stunning! We attended a wedding here and it was so beautiful. The building and the grounds are just breathtaking. You don't see stained glass like that anymore. Even as grand as it all is, it still had a very personal and intimate feel. The staff that was there was helpful, friendly, welcoming, kind. There is street parking and a parking lot behind the church.

Wonderful and Holy church. Archbishop Sample was presiding and his homiles are always so beautiful and guided by the Holy Spirit. I appreciate the traditional Mass there, with Latin, only Priests offer the Eucharist and they have kneelers to receive the Eucharist.

A wonderful Cathedral with a wonderful community. The mass was reverent and solemn. Beautiful singing and with an organ and wonderful singers. The architecture is beautiful! Couldn't really find the adoration chapel, and I wish there were more saints statues. Also a gift shop to buy religious stuff. I loved the doughnuts and community life after mass. May God continue to bless the Catholic Church in Portland and may he strengthen it! ❤️❤️ Much love from Seattle & Philippines.

Amazing experience. Very uplifting. The choir was amazing, the architecture incredible. Attending a mass definelty makes you think about greater and more spiritual things of life. The sermon or homily was insightful and inspiring. If you are not Catholic, you can still get a blessing from the priest at communion.

It was important for Donna to attend Church I was a tad late. I asked God to heal Donna's Small Fiber Neuropathy. I have emergency room pain everyday. God Bless the Pastor!
