Kilkenny-This was a great tour, very interesting. Our guide did a great job sharing the history while holding our interest. He even mentioned there is a ghost tour which would visit many the same sites we saw. The old St Mary’s is a beautiful building. Really glad we did this. The walk lasts about an hour, covers maybe a mile (definitely not more than 1 1/2).

I loved the Medieval Mile Trail tour that we did through the Medieval Mile Museum. Our guide John was an absolute delight. He was able to give us historical facts with humor that kept us engaged the whole time. This was one of the first things my boyfriend and I did when visiting Kilkenny and would highly recommend it at the start of a trip - it was a great way to learn about the city as you explored! Highly recommend this tour - especially with John!

We took the Medieval Mile Museum tour with John a couple of weeks ago. The tour was exceptional. John provides a tremendous amount of knowledge regarding the history of Kilkenny which made the remainder of our time seeing the sites around Kilkenny much more interesting. I would highly recommend taking this tour when you arrive in Kilkenny. After the tour, take some time to walk around the museum itself which contains artifacts and more historical information about the church and town.

I just had a tour with John and it was absolutely incredible. John's knowledge of Kilkenny and its history was really outstanding. I would recommend doing this tour because you are given such an amount of information and it is fascinating. The tour starts in the museum itself and then John takes you out and about in the city, honestly, you will be amazed, as I was. Highly recommended to anyone visiting this stunning city. A must.

My family and I had a fantastic experience here! We took the museum’s walking tour of the Medieval Mile with John, and it was our favorite part of our entire weeklong trip to Ireland. John brought Kilkenny’s history to life with stories that were both informative and entertaining. The information he shared really helped us contextualize the rest of the sights we saw and tours we went on that day. He also had great recommendations for where to eat and what to see! The museum not only has artifacts that share a lot about Kilkenny’s and Ireland’s history, but the structure of the museum itself, since it is housed in a renovated a medieval church, also showcases the city’s history. If you’re visiting Kilkenny, the walking tour (offered twice daily) and museum are a must-see!

We visited the Medieval Mile Museum in Kilkenny with our college class and had the most amazing experience. The guide who took us around (unfortunately we didn’t catch his name) was absolutely brilliant so knowledgeable, engaging, and full of passion for the history he was sharing. He didn’t just recite facts in a dull way, he really brought the stories to life, and you could feel his genuine love for the subject. Our little group couldn’t stop talking afterwards about how great he was and how much we enjoyed the tour. He completely made our day, and it turned what could have been just another history lesson into something memorable and inspiring. Highly recommend visiting, and if you’re lucky enough to get this guide, you’re in for a treat!

Simply amazing. The cemetary outside is an education in the city's history alone, and the 3 Lives exhibition is so well done and thought-provoking. Loved the floor panels that allow you to see into the vaults, and the interpretation of the history provided alongside the headstones was the best I've seen. A top class museum for such a reasonable price! One small quibble- I'd have liked more reputable history books for sale in the shop, or maybe something self-published about the excavations and church's history.
