St. Michael's Fortress

To be honest, the fact that this fortress has 9,000 reviews while the other two (Barone and Ivana) have just a fraction of that, I can only explain by remembering the lady selling the tickets. She was incredibly helpful, spoke perfect English, recommended other places to visit, and even helped us figure out how to get back to Vodice. As for the fortress itself, as a Czech, I didn’t find it particularly impressive. It’s nice, but I went through it in about 15 minutes, and realistically, I think it’s more of a top spot for a festival than a serious sightseeing destination. That said, for people who don’t plan to hike to the other two more interesting fortresses, this one is certainly satisfying enough.

If you ever come to Šibenik, you must visit the St. Michael's Fortress, absolutely awesome fortress above the old city with amazing views and of course great photo opportunities. The fortress has an open air theater and I wish to come back to enjoy one of the concerts during the summer season. Highly recommend to visit.

We bought the three-site ticket, which lets you explore Barone Fortress, St. John’s, and St. Michael’s. Each one is absolutely worth a visit if you want to dive into the fascinating history of Šibenik. My tip: start with Barone and St. John’s to get a feel for the city’s defenses, and then head up to St. Michael’s. From there, the views are stunning, and with so many restaurants nearby, it’s the perfect spot to slow down, enjoy a meal, and let the day fade out in true Dalmatian style.

Wonderful view. Cozy concert venue. Nice souvenirs. Excellent toilets. Will be happy to come back again.

I was at Roisin Murphy's concert here. The view from above is stunning. During the summer, you can attend concerts in the evening or visit the fortress during the day.

There is not much to it as it's been modernised to make it more into a venue, I am sure it makes for a stunning venue for a close and personal performance and I would 100% go to an event here. But as a tourist location it really only offers a couple of nice views.

You can't even go to teh viewpoint because the gates to pay are not even near the fortress. So you need to pay for the view which is not even at the fortress area.

Fantastic medieval fortress in the middle of the city, great views, awesome atmosphere! Rooftop had been turned to one of the greatest open air concert venues I have ever seen... Attended the last concert of Satriani/Vai band european tour there.
