Edit:
After sending an email to the hotel since the reply of the review. The response given was:
Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry your stay was affected by the festive events.
As the manager has already confirmed, advance notification of the music was sent prior to your stay. Unfortunately, we cannot offer compensation, and we have no control over emails going to spam.
We’re glad you enjoyed the hotel and our team, and we appreciate you sharing your experience.
We came to the St Michael’s Manor hotel as a little treat before the holidays.
At first glance you can see the hotel is outdated, the reception staff were friendly and kind.
We had booked the executive room which is one of their best rooms costing us a fortune during the festive time.
The room itself was lovely and of high standards.
However our 3 day holiday was cut short due to the noise levels.
The executive suite is unfortunately situated right above their events area, over the 3 nights they had 3 events in the night. The music was so loud it vibrated the windows and literally felt like thumping under the bed. Having 2 kids who could not sleep until after midnight was just to exhausting for us, also having 1 child on the route to an autism diagnosis this became increasingly hard for her.
We did speak to reception who said that apparently we were emailed about this.
When we checked our emails that particular mail was in our junk so we were not aware.
I felt considering the price of the room and having 2 kids, a kind call about what to expect would have been appreciated. Further, I did not expect the noise levels to be that bad, it totally ruined our stay and I unfortunately won’t be returning nor would I recommend this hotel to any family.
