St Michaels Resort

We've visited St Michael's resort many times and never been disappointed, this visit was no different. |We had a super large luxury room that we couldn't fault. A huge bed, a big bathroom with fluffy towels. It felt very calming and we slept very well.|Breakfasts were plentiful, lots of choices of cooked food and well stocked continental offerings. All staff were friendly and professional. We'll definitely be back.

Disappointing. We stayed for the Christmas festive break. We had stayed previously in 2023 for the Christmas break and it had been perfect. Sadly, things had changed which had not been made clear when booking. We travelled with our little dog and previously dogs were allowed to dine with their owners in a separate area of the main restaurant. Sadly, this was not the case this time and we were seated in the 'Nourish' area, which was a cold, bright, cafe/canteen like area which served pizzas/snacks etc normally. We had gone for the social aspect and the lovely restaurant setting but sitting in that area by ourselves waiting hours to be served was very disappointing. On Christmas day itself we were again sat there even after complaining. To make it worse a long table had been set out for desserts and while we were trying to eat our meal there was a queue of people waiting for their dessert and standing right against our table. Not what we expected for our Christmas day meal. We watched another couple walk out without having their meal. Such a shame that things have changed so much over a couple of years. The hotel is in a lovely location and the young staff are very friendly but clearly run off their feet. It is either dog friendly or not.

Lovely hotel - clean and friendly, helpful staff. Great location. Great steak in the restaurant. Setting is lovely. Bar very nice. Only two faults; couldn’t book hydro spa as was full for our visit; book in advance! Breakfast service wasn’t too good; had to ask for mugs, cutlery and one of the coffee machines was broken - not ideal when you had to make your own hot drinks. I was surprised drinks were not table service. But staff were good; just wasn’t enough of them at breakfast. Would return. All in all a really great hotel with a calm, chilled vibe.

I booked this hotel as a birthday treat for my partner and we visited the first weekend of January. I paid for the most expensive room option available and was extremely disappointed with the room which we were allocated, it was cold dark and smelled heavily of chlorine, the sea view that I requested was not a sea view at all, very cheeky. After some deliberation we spoke to a member of staff called Claire who was really helpful and changed our room for us, we were much happier in this room and it felt like what I had booked. Moving on to the bar area, we took advantage of the Happy Hour but this wasn’t very happy as the cocktails we received hardly resembled the cocktails which they were supposed to be so we left those and opted for Guinness and wine as you can’t get those too wrong. ||We then ventured down to the spa only to be told that the Spa is not included in the hotel stay and is £40pp for a two hour slot… and if we wanted to stay for longer than 2 hours we would need to pay £80 per person… Putting money aside we couldn’t even book the actual spa as it was full and we were offered a very unsociable time on the date of our check out which we declined. I was very disappointed with this, even the spa staff said that yes it is misleading that use of the spa facilities is not included in your stay. What is included in your stay is the use of the Health Club which is a gym and pool, pretty identical to the Nuffield gym which I use. ||We dined at the Brasserie on the first night, the food was fine but not what you expected for £150.00 for two people, service was OK in the evening. ||Breakfast on the first day was fine but on the second was an absolute shambles, we waited 90 minutes for the food which we ordered and the buffet selection was depleted including no cutlery or coffee cups so not much better there. We had to tell reception that unfortunately we would not be able to vacate the room on time as we were still waiting for breakfast. ||All in all, the room was the best part of our stay and it was a lovely room but everything else fell below par for the price paid. The staff need additional training and need to be coordinated better, although kudos to Claire who helped us move rooms and gave us some good restaurant recommendations.

The hotel is perfectly placed for the beach, cliff walks and Falmouth town centre. |The rooms have very comfortable beds, everything you could wish for with Cornish teas and a coffee pod machine. |The staff were all so friendly and always made time to chat, which is lovely when you are travelling solo. |My dog had a bed and a welcome pack, all appreciated by him! |The health club looked amazing, but this time I didn't use it as I was busy walking and visiting friends.

My partner booked a spa day and Sunday lunch at St Michael’s Resort & Spa, which included two hours of spa access followed by lunch. On arrival, you walk through the hotel lobby and restaurant to reach the spa, which immediately sets the tone as the hotel itself is very fancy and welcoming. The spa receptionist greeted us warmly and clearly explained all the facilities available. The ladies’ changing room was lovely, with GHD straighteners, hair dryers and secure lockers included. The spa itself was excellent — plenty of loungers to relax on and a huge pool heated to 35 degrees. There were also several sauna and steam rooms, plus an outdoor hot tub, sauna and plunge pool. Drinks can be ordered at reception and delivered poolside, which was a really nice touch. Although the spa was quite busy when we arrived, it became much quieter during the second hour, making it even more relaxing. After the spa, we headed upstairs to the restaurant for Sunday lunch. They offer two courses for £30 or three courses for £35. We both chose two courses. I had the heritage tomatoes and mozzarella to start, followed by the beef roast dinner. The roast was absolutely huge and came with all the trimmings — excellent value and very satisfying. The hostess was also incredibly friendly and positive, which made the experience even better. I would 100% recommend St Michael’s Resort & Spa to anyone in Falmouth. Whether you visit for the spa or the restaurant, both are equally impressive and well worth it.

We waited 40 minutes for our main course two nights running. We did get free wine on both nights! |You’re looking for a luxury room and bathroom - ours wasn’t. Our room was cold, the bathroom was spacious but basic and the blind in there had been removed but not replaced.

The bedrooms were beautifully furnished with a balcony to use in warm weather. Everything about our stay was perfect, scrumptious food, and very enjoyable Christmas entertainment. All staff were helpful and extremely pleasant. In fact everything was faultless I would highly recommend anyone staying whatever time of the year. We shall be back.

Tell anyone that you're going to Falmouth, Cornwall for spring break and they might wonder why. But when you live in London and just want to get away and relax for a bit, this is the perfect place to go! A friend found St Michaels and was able to get us a 3 room suit for a very good deal. Our room consisted on an en suite bath, small sitting room, large master bedroom with a king size bed, and a smaller bedroom with two single beds. The staff was helpful and got us our dinner reservations and the food was delicious! The waitstaff was so attentive and actually declined the tip that we gave them since our dinner was supposed to be included in the price of our room. One evening we inquired about room service, and after giving us some run around, they brought us some sandwiches. They were terrible and cost quite a bit considering they were just white bread and cheese! Unfortunately, despite what they told us when we booked the room, they were not able to fit us in at the spa except for one of our group who wanted a massage. We also didn't get a chance to use the pool, which would have been nice.

Fab pool. Good staff. But the most important thing is the location. Right on the beach. Food = good We love this hotel the most it has everything

We usually escape to this excellent four star hotel at least once a year. We have never been disappointed. The staff are first class, the spa, restaurant and public areas are great and we have always had a superb room. Parking is usually available. The beach is about 200 yards away and pleasant walks abound. Very good value, especially if you can catch one of their offers. Very helpful if guests have an allergy or diet restriction.
