I visited for Christmas Mass and it was a truly moving experience. I love any place where I get the chance to be in communion with God, and this cathedral provided the perfect atmosphere for that. Beautiful, peaceful, and holy.

Beautiful church, beautiful colors and decoration that make you feel in a welcoming atmosphere. It has a climate system that keeps the temperature pleasant and its doors airtight manage to keep its interior in healthy peace and silence to connect with God or in your event. Good attention from the staff. It includes free parking with plenty of room in front and back.

The local cathedral for El Pasoans. Beautiful by catholic church standards, consistently efficient for services and homilies, though at times hard to hear the priest speak over the PA system. A very involved community that supports the local residents, homeless and infirm. A pillar of El Paso and worth the visit if looking for a local cultural experience that is iconic of this part of Texas.

Im visiting from Dallas and the lack of reverence to our Lord in the Eucharist is unbelievable. I’ve been to 2 churches out here in el paso and disappointed by both. First thing I noticed is the tabernacle. Where is the tabernacle??? Jesus should always be front centered in the church not in a separate room somewhere. Second I was told to get up when I got on my knees to receive our Lord. That’s against guidelines. El Paso lacks reverence

I attended a funeral at this church for an elderly man named Rudy who was recently struck and killed right in front of this church after attending and serving this church for many years. Apparently the priest does not value it's members, especially those who are indigent like Rudy. The church priest who at first tried to ignore many requests for the service only accepted to do Rudy's service after days of pressure and eventually a warning that the churches refusal to acknowledge Rudy would be referred to the local media. The priest looked annoyed through the service and everyone at the service was shocked to witness such a dry and half hearted service. To the point where he had his staff abruptly turn off the lights and close the church right while those who attended were still sitting. We were not welcome, nor did this church value Rudy or his years of service to this church. I want to put this out there so people understand what kind of priest this is and that this church needs prayers, as those running it do not really care for it's members.

Dusty & Neglected & NO LOVE in this church. Our cousin had to beg to have Rudy F. Maidman service @ this church, even when he served this church for many years & he got run over infront of this church while serving in April 2025. McFadden looked bothered & unwelcoming. He was red and did not want to get up to even speak at the “forced service.” Our cousin did all the speaking & provided the music. If you serve @ this church just know they will not care when you pass. Rudy had no family he viewed this church as his family. This is how they treat their faithful servants. They do not matter to them!

Yelp
This is one of El Paso's oldest cathedrals/churches. I would say it's also one of the most beautiful in town. I'm a regular at St. Stephen in east El Paso but also frequent St. Patrick. This is where the Bishop holds his seat. The choir sings upstairs instead of on one side of the altar. It sounds wonderful when they sing during mass. The sound is very good inside of the cathedral. They don't really need microphones. Someone also plays the organ upstairs during mass. St. Patrick also has beautiful stained glass windows. I once went to a wedding here. It was decorated beautifully and the ceremony was also nice. My parents took me and my sister to Easter and Christmas mass many years ago. I didn't appreciate it back then but I do now. It gets very crowded during holidays. During ordinary time, it's not as crowded. That may be at any church, though. St. Patrick also has a smaller chapel. Smaller, intimate weddings are held here. I recommend this cathedral on just its beauty alone to locals and tourists. Mass is always beautiful here. Whether you're Catholic or not, you should try going to mass here at least once in your life. You'll appreciate it for its beauty and sound quality. If you can't make it to mass, I'd recommend going to look inside of it sometime. You'll be in awe of its beauty. Photos don't do any justice for St. Patrick Cathedral.

Yelp
The church is very beautiful. Me and my family are from California and went to the 11 am mass and it was very welcoming. Everyone was very nice and respectful. The only thing was that we were sitting in the back and it was a little hard to hear those speaking even with the microphone. But overall we recommend it for anyone in the city or visiting!

Yelp
Midnight Mass was filled with people celebrating the birth of Christ. It was wonderful and whimsical, it was filled with joyful singing from the choir but the whimsy came in the homily because Bishop Mark Joseph Seitz sang excerpts of songs to indicate his joy which included "Grandma got run over by a Reindeer." It had humor as part of the celebration at the Mass, it was lovely and so were all the Christmas decorations and the Nativity with baby Jesus

Yelp
Absolutely Beautiful Catholic Cathedral! I attended mass here and the mass was excellent. Be prepared for a longer than usual mass though because the Priest starts in English and then repeats a lot of what he says in Spanish. Even so, I loved the mass and will return.

Yelp
Coming from the northeast I love the old church feel inside, I personally don't like these modern style catholic churches that feel more like a conference room then a worship space. This church brings that good old school awe inspiring feel to it, it feels catholic. The church has both English and Spanish liturgies. Range around an hour long for mass. Music is good. They have somebody who knows how to play the Organ. I have seen three different priests offer mass and each with a unique style. If you are looking for a typical Catholic Worship place this is the church for you. Nothing crazy or radical and you need not try to guess what is going to happen next. They follow the rite. That is why I like it.

Yelp
I have grown up seeing and attending this mass but have now moved away to another Texas city and attend the cathedral here. The choir playing mariachi -type music is a fond memory of mine. As I begin the process for the sacrament of marriage, I wonder how receptive this church will be to out-of-towners who want a traditional mass at this main El Paso diocese church? Update: At first my review was 4 stars and now It been difficult to get great or caring correspondence from this church in the last few months through email and phone. I sure wish they would return calls and treat a patron with the respect and the love taught in this house of God - I'm not sure whether to continue here or pick from the myriad of churches in El Paso which attentive staff. Sigh- I wish this wasn't the case.
