Smaller sized airport, but it leaves the chaos of those bigger airports. Very nice, clean with everything you would need from an airport. The staff at the counter and the TSA agents were friendly and courteous. Lines weren’t that long and the check in process went by quickly and smoothly. They have paid parking adjacent to the terminal as well as parking a few minutes away that is a little less expensive. Which really helps if you’re spending 7 or more days away.

I had an excellent experience at St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport. The airport is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Security lines were quick and efficient, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the process. The terminal offers a good selection of food and beverage options, and everything felt relaxed compared to larger airports. Parking/Rental Car Options were convenient and reasonably priced, and getting in and out was a breeze. Overall, this airport is a fantastic choice for stress-free travel in the Tampa Bay area!

This airport is super small and easy to navigate. It's pretty limited since it's only serviced by two commercial airlines, but it's very easy to navigate and the staff were all very kind nonetheless.

Serious Allegiant Airlines Customer Care Concern I am sharing a deeply concerning experience my family and I witnessed today, December 23, 2025, at St. Petersburg–Clearwater International Airport, just before boarding Allegiant Flight 549 to Grand Rapids. While waiting, we observed the boarding process for Flight 1086 to Fargo, scheduled to depart at 3:24 PM. Around 3:00 PM, nearly all passengers had boarded and a “last call” announcement was made for one remaining passenger. Unfortunately, the passenger did not hear it — he was seated only a few feet away at the airport bar. I recognized him from earlier at check-in where he had struggled with his mobile boarding pass and I had even tried to help him. Had I known his name was being called, I absolutely would have gone to notify him. Around 3:15 PM, staff began refusing him boarding despite the aircraft still being at the gate. One employee, identified as Fred, told him to sit down and warned there would be “trouble” if he continued knocking on the window. I was genuinely stunned that he was being denied access with time remaining before departure. When I explained to Fred what I had witnessed earlier, he reluctantly attempted to radio someone about the situation. What disturbed us most was the complete lack of empathy from the remaining Allegiant staff. Their demeanor went beyond firm procedure and felt cold, dismissive, and — according to multiple passengers waiting nearby — almost amused at denying him boarding. Anyone with basic decency and fairness would have been upset watching this. The plane then sat outside for nearly 15 minutes while the passenger was repeatedly told nothing could be done and that he “should have come when his name was called.” Only after staff began receiving visible negative attention did they finally discuss alternative travel options with him — support that should have been offered immediately. Attempts by staff to justify their procedures were not well received. If this is your policy, Allegiant must seriously review how it is enforced. Policies do not excuse apathy, dismissiveness, or lack of compassion. My own family was not directly impacted today — but it easily could be next time. Many of us fly Allegiant regularly between Grand Rapids and Florida, but after witnessing this, we will now prioritize Avelo and actively avoid Allegiant whenever possible. I wanted to share this experience so others can make informed travel decisions. This was one of the most egregious examples of customer service I have witnessed in years. I sincerely hope Allegiant leadership addresses this so no passenger is treated this way again. — Allegiant Airlines Passenger Flight 549, PIE → GRR

This is probably the dirtiest airport I have ever been in. There Is garbage on the seats, food and wrappers on the floor, and the women’s bathroom has puddles of water and is filthy. The electrical plugs for those people who need to charge their iPhones don’t work or they are in the pillars, which are located nowhere near the seating areas. Additionally, the flight was not full at all, so the airline delayed the flight until they could fill up more seats. Not really airport related, but still a negative. While this airport is more convenient and cheaper to fly in and out of, I will definitely be using the Sarasota and Tampa airports for all of my flights in the future.

This small airport is very easy to navigate and people are much friendlier than large airports. Fast in and out.

Cool airport for getting in and out of Florida. Allegiant offers quite a wide variety of routes to other cities from PIE. The airport terminal offers various food options while waiting. There is also an area for kids to play while you wait for your flight. I like this airline/airport due to its affordability and ease of navigation. TSA lines also always move fairly quickly here.

Airport cafe prices are crazy high. Even for an airport. Bagel and small orange juice $22.50 I like the convenience but don't like being robbed at the same time

Dogs! Dogs! Dogs! I have never seen so many "service" dogs in my life, yapping, barking, stretched leads across the hallway. Otherwise, this is a very nice small airport with limited flights. Except for the constantly barking dogs, it was a nice experience

We love the feel of a small airport in this gives you just that! The only drawback is food, selections or lack there of. The airport and its staff are amazing, but they're really are no options except for a way way overpriced even for an airport restaurant and a gift shop that had sandwiches. We opted for that the sandwiches were good and what we would've expected to pay for in an airport. We just feel like there should've been more options.

LOVE LOVE LOVE St Pete/Clearwater Airport. It is a very small airport but it's very cute, very clean & never crowded. Sir Hubbers & moi can now take a puddle jumper every day back & forth to Pensacola, Airport if we need to for less than $100 each way. So fly. Will return & often :) Highest Recommendations.

Quick and easy airport... BUT... Lacking in amenities and updates. Limited places to charge a phone. Limited food options for an airport with this amount of traffic. No vending machines in the gates? 2 food options open when I was there... And even for an airport they're crazy priced. Tampa and Orlando are cheaper! Dated interior in the gates. Needs remodel (carpet, new seating, mobile chargers) AND vending machines.

Love our airport! Worst part is it continues to grow as more people discover it, which makes it tough to find parking!

Easy airport to maneuver around. Check in was not stressful, even during holiday travel. Asked for help from a young man at the enterprise rental car area and he went above and beyond to help us get to the right location (even walked us to the elevators). Overall experience was great!

Very small airport which means not enough staff to help during peak times. Took forever to get checkin and then took even longer through TSA...: You actually step out on the tarmac to board any plane.

Easy to fly in and out of cause it's a very small airport. But not many amenities and not even what I consider a "real" bar or restaurant. Grateful we didn't have a delay here.

Great easy to navigate and well designed. Great signage and not a huge airport which makes it so much easier to get in and out! Worked out great for my trip to Tampa from Greensboro with Allegiant . Great at gate representatives and on time ! Nice few shops and food establishments. Perfect small airport for the area.

Nice staff. Clean plane. Not cheap- by the time we were done it cost over $800 for 2 people round trip. Allegiant cancelled our flight and waited until 4 hours to tell us. They said there was a mechanical issue. Then they said it took so long to fix that the pilots had timed out. They did fly us the next day but we lost a day and had to pay for a hotel room- there was zero compensation- no food vouchers, hotel vouchers-nothing. They would get a zero but upped them to a two because of the nice staff.

The people who handle the rental cars, baggage area are such nice and helpful people. Couldn't ask for better customer service. However, in the allegiant terminal, I was sitting in a spot that was reserved for those with disabilities or pregnant women. Instead of asking nicely/respectfully for me to move, the lady helping out decided to just read aloud what the reserved seating section said. She used an extremely rude, disrespectful, annoyed tone for every and all people to hear. I felt embarrassed and disrespected.

Pros: -long term parking was easy -a few ladies at the counters were super sweet and cheerful (even very early in the morning) -clean and the snack options were good -fair amount of seating, even with how small the airport is Cons: -this place is pint-sized (super small) -very limited on food options -service counters were SUPER slow (I know it is early but YIKES) -boarding was kinda wonky (walked to plane), a little confusing as well, since they called families at one point (not very loudly), we almost missed it

My FAVORITE airline "secret"...this airport runs so efficiently. The Allegiant PIE are so expedient, friendly & professional! Its always a quick in/out with ZERO hassles! Love this team, from ticket counter, to gate service to flight crew, A+ all the way! They even push the wheelchairs w/out outside vendors! TIP those assistants, they earn it! Whew! Special shoutouts to Maria, Liz & Usara & Adam in flight crew!

Parking is terrible. Never short or long term available. Economy lot has a shuttle that is often full. If you can fly from Tampa it is a much better option.

Small airport but efficient. Lots of overflow parking which is only $8. Airport is efficient and you get through everything pretty quick.

It's been a minute since I've been here but that's only cause none of my flights were flying out if here. The airport is clean, it's small so it's easy to navigate and my bags came out really quickly.

Solid airport. Not busy. Line for TSA was super quick. Drinks were expensive. Food was half way okay. They had no wheel chairs for anyone. Plane was 3 hours late. But yeah pretty awesome place. Can't wait to come again.

This is a small but efficient airport. TSA was easy to work with, clear and concise with directions and friendly enough not to be intimidating Masks are required at this point and there are conveniences, water filters, food places. Although it is limited as it's a small airport Their charging stations are not always near the seats, that's my complaint if i have one

The short term parking construction is now complete! They do charge $2 for the first hour, but you get to park 50 feet from the door to baggage claim! I feel that is worth two bucks.

This is one tiny airport. I like flying on their budget airlines. There are only two terminals. If you have TSA precheck, you can comfortably come an hour before because you'll get through security pretty quickly. Like all airports, they have long term and short term parking. The first hour of short term parking is $2 and it's $1 more for every additional 20 minutes. The terminal I was in had a market for snacks, magazines, and more. I got a generous zip bag of Cheez-its for $5. They also have a water bottle fill up station near the water fountains which is nice. The bathrooms are pretty clean, but if you have a carry-on roller bag, it's hard to close the stalls without being pressed into the toilet. There are also charging stations behind some of the seats near the gates while you wait for your flight.

#ThankYouThursday I am thankful today for the close to home and small St. Petersburg-Clearwater airport. This airport allows me to fly home to Michigan and North and South Carolina directly to see family and friends on Allegiant. Though the airport has been going through a lot of changes in the last few years, it is still super easy to get in and out of, making it an easier and better choice for me to use on a lot of flights than Tampa. I am very thankful that I discovered the airport when I first moved from Michigan in 2007.

Normally I like this airport but gates 2-6 are a different experience. There's a restaurant with a VERY limited menu. Prices are crazy high for what you get. Do yourself a favor and pack a sandwich and a danish for the wait. The market store here has prepackaged sandwiches for $15 and up. No thank you.

Very very small airport!! Pros: you can come 20 min before your flight and not miss it. Cons: if an airplane has an issue the whole airport shuts down. I came for a 10am flight and didn't leave until after 5pm because of an issue another plane had.

Small town airport not too far from Tampa airport. The prices here are very affordable. It's only 15-minutes from Tampa airport too. Compare prices and fly in here. The workers here were very knowledgeable and assisted us with our questions. Rental car companies - its 4 here. Very affordable as well.

every flight i wait on to go home, they delay for hours, sometimes cancelling flights 5-6 hours later and won't say a word why. Today's reason is "crew is not here", i think the employees and the owners need to be fired/resign!! Absolutely Ridiculous!

I flew into Saint Pete airport during COVID-19 from Cincinnati. I was able to find a last minute deal through Allegiant, and I could not pass up the $40 airline ticket. I really enjoyed the small airport at Saint Petersburg. Since I was traveling solo and with all of the Covid rules and closures, I really appreciated the smallness of this airport, as opposed to larger airports near this location. I am glad I chose flying into Saint Petersburg! To make life easy, I just had my one carry-on. But, the baggage claim area was not crowded at all. I was quickly able to find my rental car pick up, as it was located on the exit through the airport. Like I said, it was very small, so as we exited our flight, we were shuttled down a hallway leading to the exit. The only odd thing that I encountered in this airport was this area where groups of eight or 10 people were asked to get into this enclosed space. Somehow the doors around us moved and then open to let us out on the other side. To this day, I cannot figure out why, as it was almost and air locked door. Perhaps it was for security? With all of the social distancing rules, I thought it quite odd to make a group of 10 of us cram inside the small space. Once the door closed behind us, another door opened in front of us. Again, I'm sure it had something to do with Security. On my way back to Cincinnati, my flight was delayed. Since it was such a small airport, the gift shop next to our boarding Gates decided to stay open until we boarded our flight. It was a convenient, small airport. I definitely would fly back into St. Petersburg!

Easy in and out airport. Quick access to rental cars. Not a ton of walking. We love PIE due to prices and easy security and smiling staff. Perfect location to drive into Clearwater or Tampa. Less folks to have to fight in and around. Probably our favorite Florida airport.

It's ok since it's smaller than Tampa. Like everything else, the parking space rental is expensive. I hate that the airport is so cheap they can't afford to change their AC filters. I'm docking a star for that. I'm also docking a star for being too cheap to install WiFi charging stations.

Well, this review is in so much about the airport as it is about the restaurants in the airport. It's disgusting to think that Mazzaro on the B side Has the audacity to charge close to $20 for a flatbread pizza that isn't even 1 foot. The sauce is crap , as are the toppings. talk about taking advantage of the flying public. You could've bought an 18 inch pepperoni pizza anywhere else for what you paid at Mazzaro's. As far as the drinks, close to $10 for a 12 ounce beer. This is not the establishment St.Pete Airport needs.It's all pure greed!

There's a really nice airport that is located in Clearwater saint Pete Tampa whatever all of them lead here. So every time we stay with my grandmother in law we fly allegiant air and it takes us direct flight to this airport. The airport is really easy to get to really easy to walk through it's not large at all which I appreciate. And they have a nice little play area for your kids to play in and they have couple of the little snack bars and restaurants so solid airport

I flew into Tampa (Tpa) for my friend birthday spa weekend and didn't realize my client booked me to fly back home before flying back to them. That flight back home was out of PIE which I never heard of and on Allegiant which I've flown before. The airport is small, the people are friendly, the TSA is quick with smiles, the gates are all together in one space (7-11) or (1-6). If you have PreCheck you get a blue paper and your items are put on tbt belt with a bar to start them and to end them as you still go through the same security screen as none PreCheck. There is no designated PreCheck gate which I didn't expect with such a small airport. The bathroom was clean and updated with automatic toilets, sinks, soap and paper towel dispenser. If ever going to Tampa or Clear water area and flights are too high into TPA check out flying into PIE. We were staying in Clearwater beach at a resort and it was a 24 min Uber to PIE. When I arrived in TPA the ride was 24-30 so they are the same distance from the action in different directions. I'll definitely fly in again to PIE.

For a small airport, this place acts like a small airport. If you're flying out of PIE, you can expect on of two scenarios- a quaint, easy trip or a frustrating cluster of too many people in a small space. With Allegiant having so many flights out of St Pete, you'll likely endure the second case. Getting there- there has been confusing and poorly marked construction around this airport for going on five years it seems. May the odds be ever in your favor. The long term parking lot is small, and fills up fast. This is annoying, because you can see spots open in there, and people leaving, but noooooooo, ya can't go in. So over to economy. Getting to the economy lot is another venture through a construction hellscape across the busy road. Then you hop on a shuttle (where masking is extremely hit or miss). Just what I want, a bus ride with fifteen unmasked Floridians. Not. Once you get to the terminal, checking in is actually really easy. If you happen to be TSA Precheck, you get your own line as usual, but it's also the line for wheelchairs and their escorts, and who knows who else, so our line of three people in TSA Precheck took longer than the regular line of at least a dozen. Then you're dumped into the regular xray line with a laminated card that shows you don't have to take out electronics or remove shoes. Once in the terminal, it's so small. There is a good gift shop and Mazarros for food. At first, it seems like there is ample room for everyone to sit. Until Allegiant inevitably delays flights, then the place is bursting. If Allegiant would be on time, it would be an ok experience. Anyway, not a huge fan of this airport. I hope I dont go back for a good long while. I'll be shopping TIA from now on.

I love this small airport. Anytime I can fly from here instead of Tampa, I do. You don't need hours beforehand to check in, which is awesome. Things are a little chaotic right now due to all the construction, but it will be great when done. There aren't good food choices, so eat ahead of time, There are some things you can buy. There are plenty of charging stations throughout the seating area. All the gate attendants seem enthusiastic and efficient.

I have been using this airport for the last 8 years. I absolutely love this airport. It is so easy to get in and out of. If at all possible we use this airport since it is so close to our house. The only downside to this airport is not all airlines fly here. If you can manage a flight into this airport you won't be disappointed.

The smallest International Airport I've ever seen. In short, I would fly to/from here again. But beware of the inappropriate and rude TSA agents here. I have mixed reviews of this airport, so stick with me here... Rental Car Return: A+ By far the easiest rental car return, with the least wait, if any airport I've ever been to. Facility Navigation & Cleanliness: A Very well marked to get to the airport, despite lots of road work (as of 11/2018). Easy to navigate inside because it's so small, and very well marked. The only potential confusing part could be the separate TSA lines for gates that are close to each other, so pay close attention! Extremely clean and well maintained. Food & Stores: B Let's face it, you aren't coming to this airport to eat. There are a couple of coffee bars and limited food choices. There are also a couple of very small gift shops with limited souvenirs. Again, what I would expect from an airport this size. Wait Times: C We waited 40 minutes just to check bags, with approximately 20 people in front of us. Security: F I have never in my life encountered TSA like the breed employed here, which is saying a lot. The first agent we encountered was checking people's boarding passes for TSA Pre-Check image, and holding up and yelling out to the crowd to purposefully embarrass anyone who had the opportunity to be in Pre-Check but was in the regular line. She was calling people "mommy", "white person", "curly haired person", and kept repeating very loudly TSA rules and regulations. In the security line I was told that my carry on needed to be rescanned. No problem. I was then asked why I had a tablet in my carry on. I replied that I didn't, it was removed and in a separate bin. The TSA agent laughed and said "well we are about to find out. I'm not stupid." He unpacked the carry on, repacked it, and told me I could "be on my way." Guess what - there was no secret tablet in my bag. I have never seen such a rude, inconsiderate, and downright inappropriate group of agents. Ever. Keeping all of that in mind, the convenience of this airport is what makes it. Just be sure to bite your tongue through security.

Now I will be the first to say I am a TPA STAN!!!! So you can imagine my surprise at how much I looooooooved this airport. Out of all the regional airports I have traveled through this certainly stands out as one of the most friendly. The TSA was all smiles, and compassion. It was a very welcoming security checkpoint all in all. I felt safe and surprisingly totally unbothered. The airport is so small, and so it is crazy quick. We were dropped at the airport 20 minutes before our flight boarded and it was plenty of time. And so with the time we had to kill we plugged into one of the many outlets to charge up before the flight. The biggest drawback for me was the lack of water. The refillable water station (only one) was out of order. I tried going to the Mezzaros cafe to fill my bottle but their water tap was also OOO(?) This might be my new first choice airport. I still love TPA but this is too close and quick to pass up.

Remodeling is still in progress but it's getting better. More parking close to the airport again. Love the new little dog park in the center across the walkway towards the parking lot between signs that say ticketing A and ticketing B! Airport is very small and usually pretty clean. You don't need much time typically to check in, get through security, and get to your gate, since the airport is so small. They definitely could use more seats/chairs in the areas when you wait to board for your flight.

This is a pretty old (and a bit rundown) airport. There are not many shops/restaurants here. Past security, there's kind of a combined walk-up sandwich shop/snack bar/bar with only 2 registers. Before security there's a small bar/seating area upstairs. There are no jetbridges so you have to walk out onto the tarmac and climb some stairs or use the wheelchair ramp to board/disembark.

I've never seen a lazier set of people than the employees of Allegiants PIE crew. We arrived at 9am to check in and we greeted by a crew, all standing at their consoles, who's only apparent job was to tell the crowd of waiting people that they wouldn't open until 945am. They all continued to talk loudly about how many things were broke (B side bagging) and about how they needed more time off. I ran into one of the crew members in the bathroom and when the paper towel dispenser didn't work she just walked away laughing and saying "it doesn't work already today". I am now renaming this as Apathetic Air. Stick to Tampa International. Much more professional and efficient. Now, there was one shining star in this story. At check in there was an issue with my son's reservation. While simultaneously training three other new people Ginger helped to make corrections and get us moving again. So 5 stars, just for Ginger and her excellent customer service!

It was my first time flying in almost 20 years, so I don't have a lot of basis of comparison but I also have no complaints. As far as airports go this one was efficient and staffed w friendly/knowledgeable/helpful staff from start to finish. It seems like a grueling job but they make the very best of it and even at 5 AM found the courage to joke around and be accommodating to everyone flying Allegiant. I had an especially fun interaction with a TSA guy that left me smiling the whole day. Didn't catch his name .

$5 for them to print your boarding pass...a huge mistake I made when my hubs & I departed from Ashville, so download Allegiant app. or the airline you're using to avoid this cost! We also left our car in Long Term parking for $12/day. They remodeled & have a small dog park. They don't have a lot of food options, but have WiFi, TSA pre-check, rental cars, vending machines with snacks and Sodas, etc. This small airport gets the job done. I fly out of here often because my parents live close to Ashville and a round-trip booked through Allegiant is $150. The only con is that this is a small airport, so no tarmac which meant we sat for 2.5 hr. During an afternoon thunderstorm with lots of lightning over us & wasn't safe to depart...

This is my "I've had a few already" review...the construction totally sucks! But the martini glass directional sign totally redeemed that little bit of frustration. Thankfully, once the construction is complete, it will probably be a much more pleasant experience! I didn't realize this little airport sold liquor. Thank God it does, because I'm a very nervous flyer. Before I got here, I stopped at a place up the road (I missed the turn, damn construction!) called "BAR" for a double vodka...just in case. Once I got here and got through security (full groin check ) and saw they sell liquor (and they even asked me if I'd like a double...yeah!), I was so pleasantly relieved! The place is clean. The bathrooms are clean. The shuttle drivers are polite, if not a little bit flirty. I'm a terrible flier, so this all makes a difference. But take note...there are no cupholders for your double vodkas in the...waiting areas? I set mine in a planter!

It keeps getting better. Aside from the nonstop construction, PIE is becoming a more welcoming airport. Airport pickup and short term parking continue to be challenging, but the interior is finally getting the finishing touches on a tropical classy rebuild. Allegiant is by far the biggest airline operating out of PIE. PIE provides a small airport convenience with an improving infrastructure.

I love this airport because it's uncomplicated!! You park directly outside of the terminal, so you have to catch a bus. The agents are friendly, and I've not been hassled about anything! Flights usually land you at other similar sized airports which are also uncomplicated!! Love it!

Nice, quaint airport. It was my first time flying in and out of here and I had no issues at all. Would be nice if they had the walkways into the airplane instead of a ramp on the tarmac. Other than that I have no complaints.

This is a small regional airport (also moonlights an international airport too, apparently) that services some regional airlines not serviced by the much bigger sister airport in Tampa. Facilities here are good w/clean restrooms and a quick n easy TSA checkpoint. There are a lot of seating option in the gate areas; some are even comfy chairs w/charging platforms attached. The boarding here is a little off-kilter, however, as several flights seem to arrive at the same time and it gets a bit chaotic. So, pro-tip: just wait for everyone to do their thing even if your boarding section is called. You are all going to the same place. I did this my second time around and it was a much less stressful process. Also, they do not have jetways here; you board and de-plane on the tarmac. There is a lot of construction around the entrance and exit to the airport, so do not follow your GPS. I had a couple of ride-share mishaps that took us to this very scary looking abandoned field instead of the airport, just follow the signage off the highway and navigate the labyrinth of cones. Drop-off here is much easier than pick-up. It is literally the same stretch of road, just at opposite ends of the airport. It is honestly easier to get picked up at the drop-off entrance as the designated pick-up section is small and it gets congested due to the bottle-neck of cars trying to pull out while others are pulling in. I think once the construction mess is done, this airport will reach its full potential, until then 2-stars because they definitely could have better signage navigating to the airport as well as exiting. It is absolutely fine once you are inside, but getting there is another story. I have heard a bunch of people complain about what a mess the parking situation is, so take that into consideration if you are flying out and plan to leave your car.

I take flight out of this airport frequently. The experience has been really smooth and efficient. This is a small airport with good staff and management. I have not had any negative situations at this airport. I frequently fly Allegiant airline into Norfolk, VA. From this airport.
