I know one thing for sure about this place. The food is GREAT! I had Diablo Shrimp with Angel Hair Pasta. Everything was prepared beautifully and it was so delicious. Also, they had my favorite beer on hand. That's always a bonus! I saw a wide variety of spirits and wines available also. My salad was fresh and crisp veggies. My server was very attentive as well. Id say every aspect of my dining experience at the Dancing Marlin was first rate. Id highly recommend folks in Deep Elum give their food and beverages a try for an affordable and satisfying option.

I have been coming here since the early 90s when I worked at the dental school at Baylor. I have brought family and even senior dental assisting students when I was teaching. Service is always amazing especially if you have Mary waiting on your table. Best cheese fries I have ever had with that ranch (chefs kiss). The Dancing Tuna Sandwich NEVER disappoints. Love Love St. Petes!

Google
This place is 100 percent authentic and original.. there’s so much local culture and reference to it . I hate to use such an overused cliche so I won’t.. that said, I loved it! Real people, neighborhood people, good people and great food and service as well.

Google
This place is the best. The variety and quality is amazing. The food is excellent. I ordered the F.B. Combo with some Shiner! It always hits the spot. Service is amazing. Anytime friends or family are in town and take them here. I will always come back.

This was a wonderful experience. THEY HAD AN OLD SCHOOL CIGARETTE MACHINE!!! The food was incredible. The atmosphere was funky and cool. I had the Angel Hair pasta. WoW. Definitely coming back. For my first time in Dallas. Great Place

Google
Excellent food and selections + a variety of beers. Outdoor seating is a big plus. Attentive service always, but positive energy fluctuates. Otherwise, 5-stars across the board for Deep Ellum. A great place (when energy is up) to hang out for a while or just stop in for a bite and beverage. You won't be disappointed. Daily craft beer specials for $4. Thanks, Pete!

Google
I've visited the restaurant and had superb service. The waitstaff was always friendly and professional at the same time. I'm beginning to notice, however, it's best to eat there. Ordering via a food delivery has not been very successful as of the last couple of times. This time I ordered spaghetti; I received fettuccine which in my opinion does not really do well with the olive oil & garlic sauce. It's good, but not as welcoming a pasta. Also, I noted it was missing the lemon squeeze, which really sets off the garlic. Pity.

Google
Great place to hang out, filled with cool beer signs and stuffed fish (and animal heads) on the walls! Excellent food, too!

Yelp
I came in with two friends as a recommendation from a friend, and I was very pleasantly surprised. It's got the feel of a dive bar, which I love. The menu has a perfect variety and has a little something for everyone. There is also parking behind the restaurant. Drinks and food were very reasonably priced. Service was quick and attentive. I had the Chili Cheese dog and it was very good. Can't wait to come back and try out the rest of the menu. Keep up the good work!

Yelp
Kind of disappointed that they don't have mash potatoes! I think chicken fried steak with mash potatoes is a must but it tasted fine with the baked potato. The meat was seasoned so well. I had a lemon drop martini and a French 75, not the place to go for mixed drinks. The drinks were a 3/5. Service was fast. The food came out fast and fresh. The ambiance has hanging animals everywhere. Not a huge fan. I'd definitely return. Food was great.

Yelp
Travis the bartender was super cool! Fried catfish, shrimp, calamari all fried perfectly!

Yelp
Love St. Pete's forever. Best service best smiles best food best ambiance. This place has become my Sunday tradition.

Yelp
This place was pretty yummy & had lots of options, for food & drink. They had fun decor hanging everywhere. In some ways it felt very much like a restaurant & in other ways it felt like a bar. Jason, our waiter, was attentive, efficient & kind. The only thing I didn't love was my espresso martini. It tasted like rubbing alcohol. However, I'm almost certain I could have asked for a different drink & my complaints would have been met with kindness & service recovery.

Yelp
Been coming here for years...love this place! Brought a buddy from out of town a while back for drinks and loved the place so much we cancelled dinner plans and had a great steak here! This visit was for having cocktails and smoking a cigar on the patio with my son. Great drinks mixed by Pete and had a great afternoon! Will be back again soon!

Yelp
We liked the look of the place from the outside, which gave us, as first time visitors to Dallas, the impression we were going to a seafood bistro. But it's a large, comfortable bar/restaurant that houses collections of nautical/hunting trophies, pictures, bobble heads and other interesting memorabilia arranged in a very charming, eye catching way. Lots and lots of pictures from the owner's many travels and hunting trips which were really fun to examine. We enjoyed our drinks (decent beers on tap) but really loved the tuna crostini, which was very fresh, flavorful and satisfying. Highly recommend the chicken wings (skip the lemon pepper ones, the buffalo spice is the way to go) and the lasagna was a generous portion of gooey, meaty yumminess. What made our night though, was the warm and funny interactions with the bartenders that night, as well as the laid back friendliness of the other patrons. Travis and Stephen made sure our glasses were never empty, bought our son dessert and even gave us a couple of late night bars to check out had we been able to keep our night going after settling in at St. Pete's for the long haul. Despite the dent we put in their kitchen and kegs, our bill was so reasonable, I asked them to check their math. Guess I'm too used to Chicago prices. It's a great location for bar hopping or watching football or just grabbing a drink and some better than just bar fare.

Robin T.

Yelp
Tuna tacos fresh and yummy, not what you would expect in this dimly lit bar. Even better was the friendly bartender and cold beer!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
It's a cool bar in a prime location but the food was underwhelming. We got the mozzarella sticks, chili, fettuccini Alfredo and chicken Caesar salad. The only thing we enjoyed were the mozzarella sticks honestly. The Caesar dressing was harsh and sour and the chicken was insanely dry. The Alfredo tasted like just cream and noodles, no Parmesan flavor. Likely won't be back for food but maybe for a drink.

Yelp
Lunch was great. One of the best burgers in town, better than you can make it home. Juicy drippy perfect. Served with a ton of tots. Excellent service.

Mark C.

Yelp
One of my favorite places - the dancing Tuna sandwich is amazing. Ive been coming here for years - awesome beer selection, and the waitress was great about anticipating minor changes and even making suggestions for a picky teen. Will come back again and again.
google avatar

Franki H.

Yelp
Grilled chicken salad was huge! It could have fed 3 people. The chicken is juicy with a good grill char. It was pretty empty during the lunch hour so service was good. It definitely gives the beach bar and grill vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, and everyone that works there is so friendly! Travis the bartender gave us a list of other cool spots to check out around Deep Ellum. The chef came out and chatted with us about our recent move from Hawaii. Good vibes! Stellar happy hour too.

Yelp
After the Star Fair of Texas, we had dinner at a staple of Deep Ellum. St. Pete's Dancing Marlin is one of the first places we knew back in the late 90s when we came to Dallas for the first time, and the experience was as good as I remembered from back then! A special shoutout to Collin, our server. He made us feel at home from beginning to end! Our food was excellent, and even the playlist was terrific! If you like spicy food, Pasta Diablo has your name.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was the BEST I HAVE WVER HAD !!!! Thank you Collin! Food was super fresh and very great portions !!! Definitely coming back ! The portion sizes were more than anyone expected - FANTASTIC! The atmosphere is a Home fun feel!

Yelp
The food is two stars nothing g special but not the worst. I've had underwhelming cheese sticks, a horrible pizza, and a 2.5 rated burger. The service is great though. The vibe is cool also probably should have a live band more than one per week but they earned three stars because of the drink specials which are decent especially for the Deep Ellum area

Yelp
Stopped at St. Pete's Dancing Marlin for lunch. I've never been here so the waitress suggested I have the Dancing Tuna Sandwich. It was served pretty quickly, tasted good, and was cooked medium rare as the waitress suggested. It was served with tater tots which were also good. The food portion was perfect for lunch. Overall service was quick and the waitress made sure we had what we needed. It is a bit dark in the restaurant but that adds to the appeal with all of the interesting decorations. My Tuna Sandwich, tater tots, and ice tea came out to be around $23.00. FYI there is a "NonCash Adjustment" already added to your bill.

Yelp
St Pete's is the best!!! Awesome atmosphere, great food (tuna tacos are delicious), and Pete, the owner, is a pure gem. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

Yelp
I trusted the bartender and got the chicken fried Tuna.... Paid off big time. Wonderful flavor. Asked for it rare and it came out more of a medium rare, I think they knew that had to happen to Cook the batter. Got the veggies and a cup of chili with it for $25. Totally worth it. Friend got Fish and Chips and highly recommend that too. Wasn't busy on a Wednesday.

Yelp
food was decent , over priced but better than some of the other nearby places to eat

Yelp
Had our pre-concert dinner at St Pete's and glad we did. The local vibe at this Deep Ellum icon made for a comfortable stress-free meal with nachos, tuna tacos and shrimp over pasta. All were freshly prepared and quite flavorful. Service by Alexis was attentive background music brought back memories. We even went back later for desert and a nightcap.

Yelp
So I parked across the street in the paid lot to meet a coworker for lunch. I started to wonder why they picked this place because I was like what kind of bar in the daytime do they have me going into? Well, I was very surprised because it was clean and neat although a Bar... The ice tea was so good. I really can't explain it. It was ice tea, but it was like not fruity, but had a different kind of blend to it. That tea was amazing. I wanted to ask the server if she would give me some to go, but I was too afraid Lol not afraid but embarrassed because it was really good. So I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat and I really wasn't that hungry. Plus I wondered what was good there because the name sort of throws you off. You think with the name it's like a seafood place but it's a bar. So I went with something I felt like could be tasty and you really couldn't mess it up. I went with The nachos and added grilled chicken. Those nachos were fire. They were so good. I think they are the best nachos of my lifetime right now. Well aside from my favorite late night snack when I lived in Houston, which was Chacho's. These are amazing. I will go there in the daytime again just to go to get me some more ice, tea, and the nachos. They are a little different. They don't put refried beans on them. They put whole black beans but when I tell you, these things were good, I'm not lying. The chips were fresh. The chicken was grilled to perfection and seasoned. It came with sour cream and guacamole right there. Delicious. So I couldn't eat them all and I think I had a half order. I took them home and the server we had she was so nice. She put them in a box for me. I took them suckers home and ate them for dinner. They were still good and crispy even for dinner. I didn't even try to warm them. I are then room temp! I was skeptical but not skeptical anymore. I will be back!!!

Yelp
I had a good experience at St. Pete's. I was in Deep Ellum for a show, and wanted to stop for a bite and a drink before the doors opened. A storm had just blown through and the place was pretty empty around 5:30 on a Sunday. I sat at the bar, and Travis ( I believe) immediately asks my name and shakes my hand. I saw him do this to everyone who came in. He remembered names and was great to talk to. I didn't want something heavy, so I ordered the tuna crostini appetizer and Pete's cocktail. The drink was as exciting as a grapefruit, vodka, soda gets. The tuna crostini, man, so good. Garlic toasts with seared sushi grade tuna, pico, and a cilantro sauce...perfection. The flavor, the texture, everything was on point. It was beautiful, and pictures can not capture what it truly was. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable. The only downside was that the bathrooms are closed so I had to wait until I got into the Factory to wash my hands.

Yelp
Great place in DE. A/C was blowing sting on this hot July afternoon. First time here and there is plenty to look at! The walls are crammed with memorabilia fit for all interests. The food and the service were too notch. We sat at the bar on an early Sunday afternoon.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place. Good was good, friendly service, great atmosphere. Diverse menu with several good choices.

Yelp
Mama's Baked Garlic with CHANGE YOUR LIFE if you love roasted garlic. It's amazing, and unlike anything I've ever had anywhere else. & Travis is an amazing bartender. Super kind, attentive, welcoming and a great vibe. I will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
Food and service both were terrible. Thought they place was cool but the staff was miserable

Yelp
Fabulous service and great food. The music is perfect. If you are an Aggie... wear your ring. You get 12% off

Yelp
Always great. Started coming here 25 years ago. Dancing tuna sandwich never disappoints. Fun to see the added decor over the years along with the original. Service is top notch. Gem in Deep Ellum.

Fred N.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and were greeted by the proprietor Pete. He is awesome! The drinks were great and the food...Excellent. I have Ahi fish tacos, highly recommended and my wife the chicken fried steak fingers. It was all great and we could not have felt more welcomed. Do miss this place if you are near Deep Ellum!!!

Yelp
Happy 20 years to me and St. Pete's. When I chat with Pete and see photos of his kids growing up I'm like where did the time go and that's when I feel old and can say remember when I was in my 20's coming in here. I might be biased because this is my home away from home and I don't just go to eat; I go to catch up with all of the employees (RIP Teddy and Paul). I know to park in back and come through the back patio. Nothing makes me happier than hearing the squeaks in the hardwood floor and Pete saying "hi kiddo what's new". There's nothing like this homey/comfy restaurant in all of Deep Ellum. It's the type of place you could come in gym clothes or dressed up and not feel out of place and certainly not judged. There are stories behind every piece of memorabilia hanging everywhere which gives the restaurant even more character. It also has a dog-o friendly patio, TVs everywhere to watch sports and a juke box too. TLDR; great bar that can fit any style - date night, sports watching, patio hanging, I want to be left alone, I want to make new friends, I need a drink, I need food place. Support local. Support Pete, and buy me a piece of chocolate cake.

Yelp
Pete in the bar is AMAZING!!!!!!! He's super attentive, super funny, super everything! Service is definitely TOP NOTCH!!! I would go back just for him! Food is also amazing! Tuna tacos is damn goood! And they didn't cheat you out of tuna! Huge piece, Plenty of sides! Fish and chips is cooked to perfection! Baklava! Don't miss it! Pete is Greek! So don't miss it! It's sweet, it's savory, it's PERFECT!! I would definitely come back for sure!!! Come by this place, you won't be disappointed!! And PETE in the bar is THE BEST!!!!!!

Yelp
We were heading to Deep Ellum for a late lunch. As we walked up to the door of our first choice, I felt a tug from my hungry tummy to turn around and go across the street to St Pete's. Off we went, in we went and there we were landed! There was only 2 or 3 other patrons and us. We picked a table with great views of all of the collectibles and trophies hanging on the wall. I could see the bar was well stocked, but I settled for an old fashion beer, Budweiser. (I grew up on Bud and I'm old...) As it was our first time in (and thousands passing by), I asked for suggestions. I went with the Chicken Fried Tuna Steak and Rigatoni with Quattro Formaggi. As I waited on the main course, I had a salad and exercised my neck and eyes looking at all of the items on the walls and ceiling. What I wanted to do was get up and walk from one corner all the around to see everything. There was just way too much to see! This is really the place to bring a boring person or two for a meal. My date wasn't boring so I didn't hardly get to wander the walls with my eyes. Besides, the perfectly cold Bud was delighting my tastes buds and listening with direct eye contact while drinking was the wiser choice! I know many love raw fish, and in a survival situation, raw fish is okay to me. Deep Ellum feels like home thus I wanted this fish cooked. It came out perfect! Hot, flaky, flavorful fish as tuna should be. There was just a hint of spices and a bit of crunch from the fried batter. The cheese sauce on the rigatoni was heavenly. When paired with the very ice cold Budweiser, I felt like St Pete was next to me and jealous. The service was top notch and very attentive! The food was exceptional. The experience was great and the price was within reason for this fine dining in Deep Ellum. I see why all give this 5 stars. I think this beauty would weigh in at 7 stars if the scale would support. If you haven't been here, you need to. If you are traveling to Dallas, you need to come here.

Aaron C.

Yelp
Travis the bartender is the man!! pasta is fire! Wings and nachos amazing! The jukebox is the best in Dallas!

Ashley O.

Yelp
LOVED this place!! Amazing Margaritas and food! The ambience was great and our server was awesome too.

Yelp
That chicken nice andddd juicy. Makes the salad ... Picking up Uber was pretty easy. Thanks
google avatar

LaRhonda R.

Yelp
Wasn't too impressed about the fish n chips. Seemed like I could of just bought frozen beer battered fish from the grocers and did it at home. Sorry, don't think I'll be returning
google avatar

Marianne C.

Yelp
St. Pete's is a great dinner spot/stop before catching a show next door. The floor creeks, the decor of huge fishes are over the top, the service is friendly, the food is great and the drinks are cold. And you get 7% back if you have Yelp Cash Back set up, how awesome is that?! I only had an app of mozzarella and a cup of chili before a show. I didn't want anything heavy but it sure did helped me coat my guts from the incoming influx of adult beverage. :) Would be coming back to try other awesome things from the menu.
google avatar

Greg B.

Yelp
I really like this place. The food is very good and the variety is astounding. Favorites of mine include the grilled tuna sandwich, the Cowboy Cut Bone-in Ribeye and the Greek Salad w/ grilled tuna. The rotating soup of the day is also very good. I think they're up to 10 soups that they rotate through.
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
Simply the best place to enjoy Tuna salad and great people! Enough said! Wait kid is to the owner

Yelp
St. Pete's is almost always a good experience. Service is really server dependent. I've had amazing service and other times just so-so. There is plenty of space inside and outside on their patio. It's Deep Ellum, so find street parking (& pay attention to times you need to pay the meter) or find a paid lot nearby. I've been here more than several times. I often order the tuna, either with the Greek salad or in a sandwich. It's great when they cook the Tuna correctly as ordered, but I've often had it well done when I've requested medium to medium rare. The salads are huge & full of fresh tasting ingredients. The grilled veggies as a side to a sandwich is a great option & is plentiful. Their wings are consistently really good! They are big & tasty (TWSS). Pasta dishes are also excellent & versatile depending on customer preference. I've tried the fried pickle spears, which are good & different from other restaurants, but I prefer pickle chips/planks. As far as drinks, I often order Sauvignon Blanc here. I honestly don't know why, but I do almost every visit. They have a full bar and an extensive bottled/canned and draft beer list. Also- gotta love the blue Marlins that come with your water and lemon.

Yelp
Kitschy DE bar has better food than I expected! We had driven or walked past St Petes a thousand times; so glad we finally ate there last night! Decor? This bar looks like it was decorated by 7 drunken fishermen after 'smoking wet' - but that def adds to the ambiance. There is no shortage of visual distraction while waiting on your food or drink. If a seaside garage sale vomited in DE - this is what it would look like. Drinks? Regular bar fare, with the added plus of a plastic dancing marlin to stir your drink with! Remember getting a cool toy in the cereal box? This is the adult version; mega bonus-points for any drink that comes with a toy! Food? A variety of appetizers and entrees ranging from pseudo-Italian - to Tex-Mex - to the trendy seafood you might expect at a place called 'Dancing Marlin.' My wife really enjoyed the steak fingers, and we had to help her finish! My son & I loved the fried tuna burger - imagine a thick tuna steak, fried, and held inside a large hamburger bun!! Awesome! I will eat this again! Plus; all of our sides - from tater tots to pasta salad - were delicious. Score 9 on the food!! Typical DE parking hazards, plus a small dedicated lot in the rear. Patio renovation is under way now, so check back for cool new stuff!

Yelp
Service was great & the food was delicious. We sat at the bar, Thomas & Travis were awesome. I think those were the names

Gabby L.

Yelp
AMAZING. That's all I have to say. The soup, salad, entrees and service was excellent. I got the chicken breast with veggies and WOW. The veggies were so good and the portion of protein they provided is great. My boyfriend got a white sauces pasta (not sure of the name) but he said it was amazing and he's a big pasta lover. The fish and chips I was told was again, a great option from our friend who was joining us. The atmosphere is very calm and enjoyable. It's a very unique restaurant for anyone who loves the water/fishing.
google avatar

Yelp
Don't judge a book by its cover! Take the opportunity to check this gem out, for lunch or dinner. They have a lot of great options: pasta, calamari, and baked/roasted garlic, to mention a few. Wasn't a fan of the pizza but, I can't allow it to deter from our experience.
google avatar

Angela P.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood (Deep Ellum) and St. Pete's is one of my favorites. The service is always great, and the prices are great for the quality of food they have. My fave is the fried shrimp platter - it never disappoints - but the menu is big enough to have something for even the pickiest of eaters!
google avatar

Troy P.

Yelp
This is a dive bar that wants to be an Italian seafood restaurant. The beer and cocktail selection was decent, but you can get that anywhere in Deep Ellum. The server was quick and attentive. Now onto the food. We got a Hot Dog with good all beef sausage, but the chili tasted like it was from a can (not fresh or good). The Pasta was absolutely dreadful! There was maybe half an ounce of the Italian sausage as you can see from the picture, and the Quattro Formaggi sauce had less flavor than milk. There should have been 4 cheeses, but there was hardly 1.
google avatar

Rick G.

Yelp
I was visiting in Dallas for business and was looking for dinner on my last night there. The deep Ellum area of Dallas is a great spot for nightlife. I chose this restaurant because I'm a big Florida fan and it seems to have that kind of theme. The Decor is great and the service was great as well. I had the steak fingers while seated at the bar. It was a quiet night and seems to attract a lot of locals as well. Overall a great experience and I would definitely plan on going again on my next trip back.

Yelp
Food was good. It arrived fast. They do have pigeons- so beware if you are bothered by this.
