Stabler Shimokitazawa Meatsand

I went a bit after opening on a Sunday. I thought the pictures looked good and felt that I may have set myself for too high of expectations. I got the 300g of meat sandwich and was a bit taken aback by how tough the meat was and how much sauce / marinade / wet the sandwich was. I had good service so no knocks on that and it was a cool concept. It was clear they didn’t dust the place and that the ventilation wasn’t very good because there was dust and grease on all of the stuff in the restaurant

When I walked in at about 7:30. I was asked to have my meal as takeout. I was able to have it as dine-in after telling the cashier that I was going to eat fast. She was very accommodating. The double Shimokitazawa beef sandwich was very tasty. If you are looking for some protein, this is the place for you! It was very tasty with the added toppings of garlic and vegetables. I think one sandwich could be shared between two people, but I eagerly ate both halves. This was an awesome meal!

While thrifting in Shimokitazawa, we stumbled upon this dope sandwich shop in a hip building full of other cool businesses. We ordered the classic egg sando and the smaller steak sando. Both looked amazing and tasted heavenly!!! Plus, the interior is such a vibe with its vintage trinkets and American-core apparel hung up on the ceilings. Check them out if you’re in the area!

Here is my honest American review: It's a good sandwich. The meat was well cooked, perfectly medium rare. I got the smaller sized sandwich and the sauce to meet ratio was perfect. They just use classic Japanese white bread. Which I personally enjoy. It's not a fancy or over the top sandwich by any means. But it is good. Just classic white bread and meat. Would I travel all the way across town for it? Probably not. But if you're in the area and want a sandwich, I would recommend it. The atmosphere gives classic old American dive bar with the decor and feel. Like, I said for the sandwich, there's nothing W-O-W about it but there's also nothing wrong with it either.

Really love the food here. The sandwich was well-seasoned and not too buttery. Still crispy. The meat is the star ⭐️ We ordered the cajun and hot Mexican and I love both. Perfectly cooked, not too tough and chewy. I love the Cajun as it was not too spicy and just right amount of salt. But the hot Mexican is really spicy so if you’re looking for something to spice up, this is the one! I was full even though I ordered half only. Highly recommended to try if you’re in the area!

The worst food I have eaten at Tokyo so far. Look interesting and very meaty, however, the meat was too thick and wasn't chewable at all. Couldn't finish the sandwich. The staff was rude. It says ¥100 off on takeaway at front but was charged full and when I asked, simply replied that the promo ended. I saw him put out a sticker on that sign after when passing by after a while. As soon as I ordered on take-away and paid, I felt like being chased out immediately while there wasn't anyone inside at all. I didn't mind since it was on takeaway but the staff can be more polite to ask. Also as it was ready, it was passed to us and we were being ask to go. There was a sign no eating there at outside seat. Never come back here anymore.

I am so grateful I came across this spot while zooming around Google maps on the train, because HOLY GRAILLL ✨definitely one of those spots that I easily recommend and would have to pop by anytime I find myself in Japan again ~

A savory meat sandwich shop that is a must try. The delectable and tender beef sandwich, along with the creamy egg sandwich was perfect. Stabler has a very unique atmosphere representing retro American culture. There are only 8 seats if you want to dine in, so don't bring more than 2 people. Otherwise, if you'd like, you can order your meal to go.
