Stadtgeschichtliches Museum Leipzig - HAUS BÖTTCHERGÄßCHEN

Lucked out! My first hour in Leipzig, I arrived here just as a very interesting „Dialogue“ (presentation & discussion in German) began about the current exhibition—DDR in the 90s. I only saw this section of the museum. There are SO MANY interesting museums in Leipzig! I never got back here.

We confused this museum with the 'Stadtmuseum'. On our visit in January 2024, there was a very interesting photo exhibition in the large hall on the ground floor and in the cellar was an exhibition of Krakower nativity scenes. Both exhibitions were 3€ each. The very interesting City museum is in the town hall in market square and is free of charge.

The museum is tiny but worthy to have a look. The problem is that the woman worked there today(4.5.2022) closed the studio half hour (like at 17:35) before it officially closed. It is not nice.

Kindermuseum zum Messestadt Leipzig ist zwar nicht groß, aber fesselt selbst Neunjährige und Eltern über eine Stunde. Viele Mitmachstationen, die die Geschichte im wahrsten Sinne greifbar machen

Das Museum ist nicht sonderlich groß. Die aktuelle Sandmännchen-Ausstellung wurde extrem viel beworben, aber dafür war es eher mau. Wo sind modernere Ansätze?

Sehr interessante Ausstellung. Die Zeit direkt nach der Wende wird anschaulich erklärt.
