Stadthotel Goldenes Schiff | Bad Ischl

No respect to Asian we feel. Very bad service and not supportive to guest, I said “ can you respect your guest? I really feel piss off!Surprise everything need to come to reception to pick, like kettle. Seem they don’t provide any service for you. Also the room very cold during the winter time, bad facility and I won’t suggest anyone to stay here. Terrible experience!

Good points: |The location is central, close to cafe Zauner, Lehar Villa etc. |Aircon! Many Austrian hotels do not have aircon despite hot summers but this one has an individually controlled aircon that works. |Bad points: |The shower is hard to change from bath tap to hand held. Look carefully at the picture on the wall. The sink tap temperature is hard to control. The taps need changing. The bathrooms need upgrading. Tub shower combo hard to get out of. The towels are lousy and thin and the floor mat was like a hand towel. So one of my party slipped and fell. |The hotel room curtains are not blackout. Just a thin cloth. Add a proper lining it doesn’t cost much! So bright early in the morning. |Pillows are so flat they collapse into nothing. Provide a proper pillow with firmer stuffing. |The front desk staff has a tendency not to look up or greets guests when they pass them in the lobby. Let alone say hello first, welcome or break a smile. Need to send them to charm school. Upon checkout the woman didn’t ask for the keys back. Later when I was getting my luggage she said “You are room …, the keys are missing.” These are the simple card keys most hotels just don’t ask back for.|That is not the right way to phrase it. She should have said “Sorry I forgot to ask for the key back. Do you have it?”. I returned the one I had and the other was in the room. That was after I stayed 4 nights. So petty and rude. |The breakfast has nice croissants but the eggs are badly done. The cereals are mostly too sweet. Have some low sugar options.

I have asked tripcom to confirm that your hotel has received the advance payment of 699.13 euros. My bank also has transaction records. It is undeniable that you did swipe twice and your transaction did not, but this fee should not be borne by me. Your hotel inexplicably charged double fees and did not admit it. I have repeatedly confirmed with tripcom and the bank, and have already investigated the transaction and the team.

We spent a great holiday at Stadthotel Goldenes Schiff and can really recommend it.|All in all just TOP!!! 🥰|The room was clean and tidy with a spectacular river view from the huge window.|The interior is modern, there is also available a tablet in the room that can help you to find any information that you need during your stay in this beautiful hotel.|The foods were 5 stars; a rich breakfast buffet and delicious modern menus in the evening.|The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Their English is perfect.|The Wellness area is a dream. Have some choices of sauna, fitness/gym area, also a great chilling area with a wonderful view of Traun.|Last but not least, the location is TOP! In the center of Bad Ischl, which makes you easy to go anywhere, or get anything you want.|As for me who likes running, I enjoyed my running time around the hotel and the river, the view is so spectacular.|Keep it up!!|Hope someday we can come back to this hotel again. 😊

I have stayed at the Golden Ship a few times now, and I have always enjoyed my time there. However, I was particularly looking forward to my visit in early September because I knew that the Hotel had undergone extensive improvements since I was last there, pre-Covid. It did not disappoint, as the place looks amazing now.||All of the Staff that I had dealings with were super helpful, especially the lady in the breakfast room who was keen to ensure that I was well looked after, lovely soul (I’m sorry, I didn’t get her name). I didn’t partake of the Spa facilities nor Restaurant, so can’t comment on those, but the Breakfasts are legendary, with everything you could wish for. I also liked the lockers, where you can store your baggage if there’s time to kill between checking-out and leaving the area. There are also now 2 lifts which help with elevator congestion||The proximity to the town centre and the Bus/Railway station, coupled with Austria’s efficient public transport network makes the Hotel Goldenes Schiff a fantastic choice for someone like myself who never hires a vehicle whilst overseas. Bad Ischl is a superb base for exploring the Salzkammergut region, and I wouldn’t hesitate to sort accommodation at this hotel when I’m next there.

I will start with the clear advantages: Breakfast was great, really tasty, and a lot of choices. The river view from our balcony was amazing, and the location of the hotel itself is good, right in the city center and around 6 min walk from the train station. Now cons: We booked a family room but were contacted by the hotel with an offer to change to the superior double room at the same rate. We asked them to provide us with pictures of the room which they did not send to us but assured us that they look exactly the same as on the booking.com page. So we agreed as the room looked really nice. Upon arrival, we realised that this is not the room we were offered (completely different, quite old design). We explained the situation to the receptionist but no action was taken. We thought that they might at least delete coffee from our check out bill as an apology - but no. The guy at the reception was generally not friendly, no smile, nothing. In addition, a barman was quite rude to us on New Years Eve as well. All in all, the hotel's staff attitude (not all of them, some of the people were nice) made us feel unwelcome.
