Stadthotel Hamburg

Extraordinary service, the receptionist went way and beyond to make sure we had a good stay in Hamburg. The room was elegant but not the sound of the passing trains might disturb your sleep if you’re sensitive to noise. The bed was a bit spartan, but overall a good experience.

One of the worst hotels I have been to recently. While the room is nice and clean the service and what you get for your money is absolutely not worth it. We paid 240€ for 2 nights which is a joke. Freezing cold in the room and the heating wasn’t working, tv not working , and the hotel is currently a construction site from 8AM you can hear builders working and making noise which makes it impossible to sleep beyond 8-9AM. They should have at least mentioned during the booking that this is a construction site. Never coming back

Rooms are OK and clean. Was here in summer and it was unacceptable hot in my room, no AC. Opening the windows wasn't an option because of the noise. Reception lady at check-in seemed overwhelmed with work.

I have stayed here many times over the years and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hamburg. I preferred it previously as they had smoking rooms. I stopped smoking but will stay there as the staff are great as is the breakfast and it's in a cracking location for night life.

The rooms are really nice, spacious and cosy. Huge bathroom, nice bed, small sofa. Unfortunately they get very, very warm with the summer sun. So you need to sleep with the windows wide open but if you're on the wrong side, then the train tracks are 70 meters away. While the trains are not so frequent, they are very noisy and for sure you'll get woken up at 6:00 or 6:30. The ventilation system in the bathroom is very loud and gets turned on with the light. There a second switch which is useless, I guess before it could be switched on and off separately. The breakfast is a bit disappointing for 15€. The guy at the reception was really friendly, and this deserves to be mentioned. We had a nice chat and offered us a coffee.

I did not expect much from this hotel but was happily surprised through and through ! The welcome was good. The room was clean, nice and modern. The breakfast was good. The location is not especially "romantic" or "cute" but very easily accessible and close to the city center so it does the job. I really enjoyed my stay ! Thanks.

A decent 5 night stay, good distance from main road so safe from noise pollution, coffee sachets were only replenished once the entire time and 1 day cleaners left their bottle in the toilet. Room fan provided was vital with the record temperatures. Very comfy beds.

The staff is the best, very kindfull. The room was perfectly, very clean and spacious. I suppose they forgot to clean the microwave plate because when i opened to warm the water, i found cheese on the plate and a mug with water inside
