Stadthotel Pfeffermühle

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room was very clean and had a lovely balcony to enjoy the summer air. We were provided a fan for our comfort. Beds were very comfortable and lots of room for us to move about and unpack. Breakfast was delicious. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Close to the town centre and train station which made it very accessible. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Quiet hotel just a few minutes walk from the center, so the position is perfect. The rooms are nice and clean. The lady at the reception named Christine is super kind and always smiling — the fifth star I gave is for her! Definitely recommended for a short stay in this beautiful little city."

Had lovely couple of nights here. Clean and charming hotel. Staff all v friendly and excellent English. Breakfasts plentiful, tasty and fresh. Had a lovely room with balcony to sit on and Gengenbach is a really pretty town.

Perfect! Except... No air conditioning, has to open the window and balcony door all night with the fan on. Most nights couldn't fall asleep till past midnight due to the heat. Staff are very friendly, the breakfast was nice but maybe not to the taste of British tourists (ie no fry up). Gengenbach is a nice town but there isn't much to do in it, I recommend doing day trips via train to go elsewhere- like to Strasbourg

Great hotel, the staff are so amazing, it is 2 min walk from the old town that is so charming, breakfast was amazing! We will go back for sure!

It is autumn and my husband and I are still traveling around Europe visiting places, booking hotels, and restaurants. However during these travels it comes to our minds the delightful experience last June during our stay at the Stadthotel Pfeffermühle. Neat, clean, friendly customer service. The buffet was well-stocked, creating a welcoming atmosphere. There was a small disposal container on the table, which served for multiple purposes related to waste management. Love it! The parking inside the hotel was a challenge, but there practical options nearby the historic center.||Its surroundings are beautiful with half-timbered houses as far as the eye can see, towers, gates, corners and alleys in harmonious coexistence. |Well, for some visitors the appearance of the building might not look charming but one cannot judge a book for its cover ;-) . We loved the hotel and Gegenbach town, of course, we will be happy to come back!

The exterior of the hotel is nothing special and lacks charm. The interior looks a little more charming, but not by much. There was ample parking. Check in was easy. The room was large and perfectly adequate for a short visit. The room had a safe, but it wasn’t physically attached to anything so a thief could walk off with the entire safe. The room also had a mini bar. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the other side of the hotel that had a table and chairs. Breakfast was good. It had a nice variety of fruit and lunch meats, some cheese, yogurt, cereals, and a couple choices for eggs.
