Städtisches Museum Göttingen

The museum is rather small. They have a few things about the history of Göttingen. The staff is friendly and provide a booklet of the history of the city if you ask for it. Much of the exhibit is in German so good place to practice. If you do not know German you might need Google translate. They also have a exhibit on women suffragists in Germany. The entrance fee to that exhibit is 4€. The other part of the museum is free.

Beautiful house with a variety of historical collections, delicately arranged for visitors to explore. Staff was kind and friendly, even offered me a guidebook in English:)

A small museum in Göttingen. Worth a visit. Entry is free and you will get to see a but about the history of Götttingen. Expect to spend around a few hours at the most.

Nice, small, free museum. Right now featuring a great temporary exhibition about the German colonial legacy. Main collection quite specific about the religious wars in this city.

Lovely exhibit on tsingtau. Otherwise very religious and not much on the actual town history. Fun to be able to try writing with ink and feather. It is a free entry.

A small museum with a unique collection

The Städtisches Museum / City Museum in Göttingen was founded during the end of the 19th century under Professor für German Studies Moriz Heyne. It is about the cultural history of Göttingen. The museum is housed in one of the oldest half-timbered houses of Götingen. It is possible to get married here now. Well worth a visit. Cost: 1,50 Euros.
