Located at Parkring 1, 1010 Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹
This is an amazingly huge park in Vienna that extends from the Ringstraße in the Innere Stadt first district up to the Heumarkt (Hay Market) in the Landstraße third district. The park is divided in two sections by the Wienfluss (Vienna River), and has a total surface area of 65,000 square metres (28 acres). Scattered throughout the park are statues of famous Viennese artists, writers, and composers. The opulent Kursalon building on Johannesgasse, with its broad terrace that reaches into the park, is the site of popular waltz concerts.
There’s some beautiful sights to see throughout the park besides the statues for example the Johann Strauss Monument and many others not to mention the fantastic flora which is planted, according to it’s species, to bloom at all times of the year. The park first opened in 1862.
It’s also family friendly as there is a picnic area and basketball hoops and ramps for skateboarders. It’s all wheelchair accessible and a perfect spot to chill out on a hot day. We spent approximately four 4️⃣ hours just slowly exploring the ponds and generally enjoying everything the park had to offer. It was a great visit and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍
