This was a fantastic station for both arrival and departure, with well-sized platforms for the trains! Departure boards are displayed throughout and kept up to date for delays, signs help navigate around too. Station concourse is great for this and there is a solid level of space to wait for trains, cleanliness had been enforced too!

Arriving here from Dorset was nothing short of an absolute pleasure. I had recently had a new hip so requested passenger assistance for both journeys, using the app. All the staff at this station are the most helpful, friendly and professional I’ve ever come across. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff all seemed to get on well with each other. They were so helpful and kind to me. Oh how it restores one’s faith in humanity to meet people like that - who are ‘just doing their job’. Thank you Stafford station staff and Avanti West Coast ❤️

Seriously, no announcement before 7, how the hell are the visually impaired supposed to know that two trains leaving at the same time from two platforms are going to different places and no staff to direct. This place is not a good station and directions leave a lot to be desired. Their solution? Buy another ticket. Its a scam and why public transport is not to be trusted. Spend twice, arrive late and put up with it

I recently caught a train from Stafford on a day when a main line was closed due to an incident. The staff were busy sorting out the many problems with efficiency and politeness. The station was clean and tidy and I particularly wanted to congratulate the staff on the cleanliness of the ladies toilets, which were immaculate. Well done to the staff at Stafford Station, you should win a prize. I have often travelled from this station and it's never let me down.

There was an incident on the train we were on with an elderly gentleman threatening and upsetting people on the train including a young girl - we got off at Stafford alerted the staff and the carriage number they acted so fast and sorted the situation immediately we understand transport police were waiting at Wolverhampton. As a result of all this my daft husband left his rucksack on the train - Hannah at Stafford was amazing so very helpful and kind and arranged for item to be retrieved and collected - excellent service and staff at such a busy time of the year what lovely people there are still in this world !

Not the best looking station but staff is very helpful! While looking at the train schedules gentlemen approached me and ask if there is anything he can help me with, and really I appreciate it a lot! He then proceeded to explain what time my train will arrive and how it will look like to make sure I won't miss it and just in case I'm not sure he suggest to find him! That's the 100% spot on service I appreciate 👍

The station itself is great, clean compared to most too but, missing my train because I can't park puts a damper on the situation. Mainly because it was caused by people dropping off and having a lovely chat as they do so. Traffic was backing up all the way to the lights several hundred yards towards tesco because the drop off area is completely inadequate.

After my trains got canceled repeatedly and my 1h journey turned into a 3h odyssey the staff at the train station and on the platform helped me get at least a partial refund and even gave me directions to a nice local place to eat. Nice guys and definitely deserve a pay rise.

Yelp
I had no intention to actually stop at this railway station, but the train that I was on had other ideas, namely because it thought it was a good time for its breaks to burn out. As such, we all had to pile off of the train and wait for the one coming in from Manchester. Yeah, it wasn't all that fancy, though it is certainly better than some of the stations I've been to elsewhere. Still, it isn't all that fancy, and there isn't a pub nearby either, what is quite annoying. However, we ended up not waiting long for the replacement train, so I wasn't stuck here for too long.

Yelp
I called at Stafford Railway Station during my journey to Watford, having to chance here from Manchester Piccadilly. This station in terms of service is small for the West Midlands town, the station is a little old-fashioned in some regards too, especially in the footbridge and the lifts between them. Trains from Stafford seemed weird and a little irregular, it normally takes around 1 hour 20 minutes into London but these aren't on a regular basis and it can often take over 2 hours, which meant I'd have had a 1 and a half hours wait to catch a similar service if I had missed my connecting train from Stafford to Watford. The staff at the station seemed nice enough, of course being in the bright red Virgin Trains jacket as Virgin Trains operate the station. CrossCountry and London Northwestern Railway also call via this station, with London Northwestern Railway taking a similar Liverpool - London route and CrossCountry taking a Manchester - Bournemouth one. There's limited facilities at the station to make it seem unwelcoming, such as closed shops and a very poor selection of food and drink at limited retailers. Considering the slightly old-fashioned and uninspiring nature of the station, the number of trains served and the times between them and station facilities, I sadly feel Stafford Railway Station deserves a single one-star rating.

Yelp
Stafford station has recently had its foyer redone. It's a bit of an ugly 60s station, but it's near to town, with good parking, good accessibility, wh smith and a new Starbucks. The Starbucks is terribly decked out of you want to sit in, but fine for taking away. The station staff are always pleasant and helpful, and the waiting rooms are always open to keep out of the cold. There are even little above seat heaters, which are a godsend in winter.
