Great little place to stop off Hwy 53 West and get a bite to eat. Breakfast served until 11 am, full American lunch menu (many different burger styles) and lots of New Mexican cuisine entrées. We tried the bean burrito and stacked cheese enchiladas, both come with arroz rojo and beans. Chicken-centered decor is super cute and you can pick your own slice of pie from a phone booth display 🙂 Staff was really welcoming and efficient. We will definitely stop by again.

Stopped by here on our way to Zuni. The staff were really nice and helpful. I had their Green Chile Cheeseburger and I enjoyed it very much. Fresh and tasty. Nothing to complain about. We definitely would come back here again when there’s opportunity.

I’ve included updated menu photos with current pricing, since the extant ones for the business are out of date. A Ramah staple. If you’re just passing through, this is a fantastic place to stop. Highlights are their stuffed sopapillas, their chili cheese fries, and their patty melts. My family has known the family who owns it for years, and the family that owned it before that. Definitely a piece of Ramah history worth checking out.

This place just feels really good. The food is good, the service is good, and the owners are quite gracious. I really don’t know exactly what it was, but we felt like we had had lunch someplace special.

Google
What a great little stop for breakfast. Friendly service owned by a couple for 17 years making good food. Fast and delicious food,

Google
The old saying, you can't judge a book by its cover, comes to mind. The outside of the Stagecoach Cafe looked a little....old. But once inside, you'll find a squeaky clean restaurant, nicely decorated, well managed, with a great menu, and a very polite and efficient staff. The food was great and the people were very kind and pleasant. If you're traveling in NM along I-40, a small detour thru Ramah will give you some relief from the I-40 potholes and a great meal besides.

Yelp
I got great service and the food was nice. It was super cold that day and a warm meal was welcome. The diner itself is cute and welcoming, warm, reminds me of places i used to go as a kid.

Yelp
One of the best kept secrets in our neck of the woods. This little gem of a diner serves up delicious American and New Mexican cuisine at very affordable prices. I am currently enjoying the stuffed sopa with ground beef and Christmas style chile (both green and red chile, for the uninitiated lol) and I must say that it sure rivals anything Gallup has to offer, and there are excellent restaurants in Gallup.

Yelp
Great food, excellent service. Nice old-fashioned cafe on HWY-53 in Ramah, NM. First time traveling thru that area and visited the cafe to take a quick break when returning from Albuquerque, NM back to Witch Well area, AZ. Tried the Navajo Taco and also the Green&Red Chile Cheese Fries. Both were excellent. Definitely taking that route (HWY-53) again and visiting Stagecoach Cafe rather than my usual route on HWY-40 when traveling to/from Albuquerque, NM to/from Witch Well area, AZ.

Yelp
Grateful for this lovely spot while visiting the rural area. Friendly and fast service. Fun local ambiance. Vegetarian beans in the southwestern dishes so we were able to have a lot of items on the menu. Our vegan family member as well by removing cheese etc. Appreciate the hospitality!

Yelp
We stopped here after our visit to the El Morro National Monument. This was the only food we found in Ramah, NM. There were a few cars out front so we decided to try it. The service was lukewarm friendly, but lacking in attention. Several of the other tables were having the same experience. Once the second server came on shift, things got a bit better, but our original server disappeared at that point, and we never saw her again. I ordered the Mushroom and Swiss Burger, which was very tasty. The meat was juicy and the bun was large. I got a side salad, but the lettuce was wilting. I just ate the tomatoes and left the rest. I got plenty of refills on iced tea, but my husband only got one water refill. If you want a good burger, I'd say this is your place. However, don't expect too much on the service side.

Yelp
Great down home cooking. Good service. Good atmosphere. Everything on the menu is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. We really enjoy eating here and have occasionally ordered for takeout.

Yelp
Checked out stagecoach on my trip to NM in January! My coworkers recommended it and I was down! We visited during lunch on a weekday so there wasn't any rush and we were seated quickly! The woman serving us was lovely and helpful! I was stuck between getting a burger or some enchiladas and ended up going with the chicken enchiladas. The meal was very filling and I had to take my leftovers home with me! The whole meal was cooked well and the ambience of the place added to my experience! Glad I stopped by here on my trip! I think the next time I make it there, I'm definitely gonna aim for a burger!

Yelp
I grew up in Ramah and I'm a little disappointed to see the low score reviews of the only restaurant in my hometown for miles around. First of all, if you're from out of town, don't come into the cafe and expect them to treat you like family; The locals here are mostly tolerant of outsiders, but if you want "friendly" service, go to Ancient Way. People in Ramah are very private and distrustful of strangers, and I don't think that's a feeling many people on the outside can understand. Look around the area, for goodness sake, Ramah is in the middle of nowhere! There are around 400 people here, who exactly are they trying to impress? Secondly, in my opinion, their best dishes are their GIANT stuffed sopapillas, their loaded green/red chile cheese fries, and their breakfast burritos. The pie is pretty damn good, too. If the curtness of their staff is a little offputting, John and Irene (the owners) know how to cook and their food should make up for it. I love Stagecoach and I try to eat there at least once every time my wife and I come down

Yelp
I am from Tennessee but own a place near El Morro. I have received nothing but hospitality and kindness when I get take out at the Stage Coach. Portions are large and freshly made. I love to get a green chile cheesburger lettuce tomato onion with fries and I love it ! I am looking forward to going back in 2021 and supporting this laid back gem. Please support this small business.

Yelp
Great meal, friendly service. We had the Navajo tacos. The fry bread was not greasy. The green chili was just right. Delicious.

Yelp
GREAT green chile cheeseburger! Good homemade pies, good old-fashioned coffee, etc. friendly service and reasonable prices. Granted I've only eaten here a few times but I've always been pleased with the experience. This place has a steady flow of take-out customers who live in surrounding areas. I'd give it a solid recommendation.

Yelp
We have not had the opportunity to visit this place in some time. When we ate there about a year ago the food was good and the service was excellent. Very nice folks who run the eatery. If we happen to be in the mood to drive 20 minutes down the rode to eat at this place we definitely will.

Yelp
Dropped in for breakfast last Saturday. A woman brought us coffee, then disappeared (after asking for milk instead of powdered chemicals for the drink). I went to the counter and a gentleman brought a small pitcher of milk for the two of us. Breakfast took a long time to arrive, and neither of us thought much of it. The gravy on my biscuits seemed better suited as wallpaper paste -- way too thick, and my husband's breakfast was mediocre at best. The staff was more attentive to a few other groups of people who appeared to be local. We felt pretty much ignored, and it's doubtful we'll try this place again -- we'll keep on driving and go to The Ancient Way Cafe instead.
