Lovely, best-of-both-worlds old-style luxury and modern plumbing! We stayed here in March for my husband's international high school reunion and it couldn't have been nicer. The breakfast buffet had an enormous selection, including gluten free options. Totally forgot to take a photo of the room, but the view from our room was stupendous. Very nice personnel, from the front desk to the wait staff. Fantastic location for sightseeing, close to public transport. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Stamford Plaza Brisbane! From the moment we arrived, the girls at the front desk and concierge went above and beyond to accommodate us. They kindly allowed us to check in early as my little one needed to rest after an early flight, and they even helped me print some important documents during our stay. So helpful and genuinely caring. The buffet breakfast was excellent every morning. It was a great start to our days with plenty of delicious options and friendly service. The staff are doing an amazing job, even under pressure. I witnessed one of the receptionists being spoken to very rudely by a man who appeared to be in Brisbane for work. I honestly wish I knew which company he worked for so I could let them know how poorly he treated the staff. The Stamford team handled the situation with professionalism and grace, which says a lot about the quality of service here. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

I stayed at Stamford Plaza Brisbane for a weekend getaway and was genuinely impressed by the location—right on the river and just steps from the City Botanic Gardens. The view from my room was absolutely beautiful, especially at sunset when the river glowed and the Story Bridge lit up. The hotel has a very classic, old-world charm. The lobby is grand with marble floors and gold accents, which gives it a slightly regal feel. The staff were polite and helpful throughout my stay—check-in was smooth, and they were happy to accommodate my early arrival. My room was spacious and the bed super comfy, with crisp linens and plush pillows. That said, some of the furnishings and decor felt a bit tired—like it hasn’t been updated in a while. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting if you prefer more modern interiors. I tried the buffet breakfast, which had a good spread, though the dining area was quite busy. I also recommend Kabuki, their in-house Japanese teppanyaki restaurant—it was a fun and delicious experience! The pool area is nice, though it can get crowded in the afternoons. Gym was clean and well-equipped for a short workout. Overall, Stamford Plaza is a great choice if you’re looking for a central, comfortable stay with stunning views and a touch of old-school elegance. It could use a bit of a refresh, but the charm and location definitely make up for it.

We recently enjoyed a beautiful high tea at the Stamford Plaza and couldn’t be happier with the experience! A huge thank you to Christine, who organised everything so smoothly in the lead-up—she made the whole process easy. On the day, Louisa our head waitress was lovely and made sure everything ran perfectly. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. All dietary requirements were catered for, which we really appreciated. The fresh flowers and elegant table setting added such a lovely touch. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful and well-run high tea experience!

I’ve stayed at the Stamford Plaza Brisbane multiple times, and each visit has been nothing short of wonderful. The service is consistently exceptional. Staff are warm, attentive, and always go the extra mile to make you feel welcome.||||The hotel’s riverside location offers breathtaking views, especially at sunrise and sunset. Whether you're enjoying a quiet moment in your room or relaxing by the pool, the scenery is simply stunning.||||Speaking of the pool, it’s a highlight! It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring the city.||||Every stay here feels like a treat. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, elegance, and top-tier hospitality in Brisbane.

We met friends there for breakfast. A good selection of hot and cold food on offer but the dining room was uncomfortably cold and we were advised that nothing could be done to warm the place up. Inevitably, your hot food gets cold very quickly. Others were commenting similarly. This really tainted an otherwise enjoyable breakfast with friends.

What a great place! The location is awesome and so central to everything in Brisbane. We were really impressed by the surprisingly spacious rooms, the good modern TV and amenities, and the delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. This hotel will definitely be on our list for when we next need to stay in Brisbane. Highly recommended!

Google
The service is extraordinary.. location was fantastic. The room however was outdated considering this is a 5 star hotel. And was kind of disappointed that the rooms did not include a microwave . I had to go to reception to heat up baby food every time . It was really inconvenient. Also the TV omg — to watch YouTube you have to scan the QR code on the tv to then CAST your phone to the TV . So inconvenient . Need to update your TV too please

Yelp
Spectacular location on the Brisbane river. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but the decor is a bit dated. Wonderful bed and spectacular large tub. Bath gel that bubbles is one of the sundries provided. My room has a spectacular view of the river and bridge. The service is friendly but I had to call twice for more hangers. Several times the phone rang endlessly when trying to call room service. The front desk finally picked up when calling from the room. I wanted a drink by the pool and no one ever answered the phone so I gave up. I have never experience such difficulties at any other hotel, let alone a luxury hotel. They did send someone right away when my bathroom TV was not working. I did enjoy my week long stay. I am feeling benevolent today so they did not lose a star for not having CNN on the TV. I could not believe my eyes and it took about 5 minutes to sink in. I have never stayed at a hotel without CNN! BBC News was available thankfully. I assume with the choice of 8 FOX stations that the hotel chain is owned by the Murdoch family. I did enjoy the Sky News station. Right wing commentary is more pleasing when the interviewer has an Aussie accent. The concierge, valets, maids and front desk personnel were excellent and accommodating. Management needs to resolve the issues with the room service department ASAP. They are damaging your brand.

Yelp
Great hotel on the river, a view of Story Bridge, boardwalk at the door, great check in experience, impeccable room, great walk in shower, and regal style decor. The precinct has it all with bars opposite and within. I wish I was staying longer.

Yelp
This review is for the High Tea only. You have to reserve ahead of time, and place a deposit down depending on the number of people you RSVP for. When we got there though, it didn't look very crowded so I don't think it'll be a problem reserving a day or two prior. You get the choice of doing a chocolate high tea, or the traditional high tea. We opted with the traditional, as we didn't want to eat too much sweets! Don't be afraid to dress up! It makes it more fun! And don't worry, guys can come too and look really posh. Great view of the river if you opt to sit outside, very peaceful. Upon arriving, the food is sorted out into a buffet like display. I'm not sure if we actually got the chocolate high tea, because there was A LOT of sweet stuff still, or if this is really how the traditional set looks like.. You get to eat from an assortment of cute triangle slices of bread with different fillings such as mashed egg (my favourite), cucumber, salmon, and a meat-like one, pastries, crumpets, scones, chocolate fountain, giant marshmallows, fruit, lollies in glass jars, varieties of cakes, and little quiche. I was hoping there would be more biscuits and cheeses available but they didn't have any. Of course, since this is tea time, they have a nice variety of teas available to try. I went with the pomegranate tea and it was quite good! I think next time I come back, I'd like to try the chocolate high tea just to see how different it is than the traditional version. But I had a fun time!

Yelp
Disgusting!!! So we went to stay for an expensive night at the Stamford only to be told in the morning that the valet had smashed our passenger side mirror on our hire car.. they said they would take care of everything as they have a good relationship with the hire car service provider (probably from previous incidents) Today ( a month after) we receive a bill from Europe Car for $334 which they are currently going to take from our credit card details they have on file!! Disgusting service Stamford!! You ruined our weekend away and not only did we pay a lot for a mediocre room and pathetic service ( the milk in our fridge was open and half drunk) we are now paying more for the accident YOU caused and admitted fault to. For goodness sakes people, stay away from this faulty towers of a place!!

Yelp
Come here for beautiful views, business, relaxation, romance. It's all catered for. After seven nights of poor sleep, I sank into the beautiful bedding and had such a wonderful sleep. Whilst things weren't perfect, they were very close to it, and the parts that weren't were very minor dealt with in a way that was human, rather than rude. I found that the staff really went out of their way to meet all requests. I'm giving this five stars based on a seasonal special on the room. I found The Stamford was a step up from the self rated five stars in Sydney. I'm tempted to remove a star for the excessive internet prices, however it didn't matter too much since I came with WiFi enabled devices. Still, we're in the day and age where 5 star hotels need to provide this service at low or zero cost. Whoever learns this first will have a lot of happy customers. Small things that were pleasant surprises: a Vidal Sassoon 2100 Pro hair dryer dried my hair in two minutes; much nicer that the standard wall mounted mini dryers. A shower rack that would actually hold a thing or two, spare blanket in closet stored in plastic to keep it dust free, saucers in buffet area with a central impression to help support the cup. A phone by the toilet, television in the bathroom, motion detecting lights in the bathroom, Do Not Disturb is controlled by a switch near the bed, fold out minibar with well placed power outlet for kettle, 42" television. Improvements that could be made include more streamlining for Concierge (they seem to do their best, but expect a wait), and changing the repetitive pan pipe music in The Brasserie. The motion detecting lights in The Brasserie toilets don't have motion detectors in the private stalls. If you are in there for 10 minutes or so, the lights go out, and you'll be left in pitch blackness. I had to do a pants down waddle into the main public area of the toilets, and it was so dark I had to feel my way. I thought the oversight was hilarious. More important things: sumptuous beautiful white bedding, beautiful views, polite service. Centrally controlled lamps make for nice lighting.

Yelp
Good hotel room, good views. Attended a high tea as part of the stay (was staying for business that included a conference with fundraising high tea). While the selection was excellent for gluten-free people at the event it meant everyone ate "gluten-free cakes and sandwiches" - which... you know, meant the other 98% had a pretty ordinary experience. I understand that this would have been the event organiser ordering gluten-free "all-round" but I kind of feel like they should have talked her down off that ledge.

Yelp
I'm not certain if it's a cultural difference between Americans and Australians however we stayed in Melbourne the week before at a different hotel and received supreme service so I doubt it. The rooms are very nice and the beds are comfortable. This is more of a resort-like hotel by the looks of it and may be an excellent place for low maintenance customers. I'm not a low maintenance customer especially when traveling for business and my expectations are that they'll satisfy their contract for the money we're spending on our event. Problems: The front desk auditors are relatively clueless when it comes to, well, anything. We were there on business and they struggled to understand what "it all goes on the master bill" meant. I don't know if this is a break down in communication between the business sales and individual sales staff, I don't care it needs to be resolved quickly. Most of the time it felt as if the service staff was staring through me when trying to resolve issues or simply thinking of a way to weasel out of fulfilling a contractual need or simple request. The first overnight one of the team complained because his bathroom ceiling was leaking orange gooey liquid which had covered the floor. When he notified they staff they stated that they would send a repair person. No. If you're room is leaking something that looks potentially hazardous or just that it could stain your things, you move the person. When he pushed for a new room they resisted. Since it's my job to make sure that my team is comfortable I had a go at it. When I addressed the issue with the front desk the guy told me that maintenance was going upstairs to take care of the issue. I stated that we needed to move his room. He told me that my colleague was happy to stay in the room. I let him know that this was not the case. He told me that my colleague had specifically stated it was okay to stay in the room. I went back to my colleague who clarified that no in fact he wished to move rooms but the hotel wouldn't fix it. I went back and called our business sales contact and it was resolved. Now it doesn't cost them anything to move someone when their ceiling is dripping orange rusty goo but it does cost them a relationship to quibble over it. The Brassiere is a good addition, let's just be clear though, there isn't really service. Well unless their chasing you down for your room number otherwise forget ever seeing that coffee you ordered. During the event I asked for chairs for our folks. I specified where I needed them and that I needed them right away because they were supposed to have put them up there the night before. I asked three more times and on the third request they told me they were delivered. Apparently maintenance gave the chairs away to a different event. We had logistical issues for example not all of our rooms were clustered together as we had specified. In fact the room that everyone needed to visit once an hour when settling up to report back was downstairs, across the lobby, out the doors, and across the courtyard in another building. And while the room was beautiful it wasn't convenient or properly set up. We had to order a phone so that we could call out. The air conditioning didn't really get hot, it was more of a luke warm. Things like not having enough water or glasses was a big problem on the first day. We ordered food that was late. It was late enough that no one got to eat it when it was fresh or warm. The second day, a waiter, in the courtyard restaurant who was quite rude to us the day before decided to put a 20 top directly in front of our meeting room door. You know the one from which we had to go across the court yard, through the lobby and up the stairs to get to our other meeting space. I mean directly in front of the door as in opening in the door would require us knocking another guest of the hotel's chair and requiring people to stand up each time someone wanted to come in or go out. When I told him this wasn't going to work, he argued with him claiming it was the only place to put it. I pointed out that people needed to get in and out and in and out and in and out. He was rude but agreed to move it. When checking out I had to remind the hotel again that everything goes on the master bill. As in everything. And when I had lost something I got the distinct impression the person behind the counter wasn't listening to me. Specifically because she didn't understand when I told her that I was leaving the country and getting on a plane so my mobile wouldn't work and she followed up by saying she'd call me later on my mobile when they found it. Ummm.... wait what? All of these things were brought up the sales person we were working with and she responded by sending us wine and chocolates. Wine and chocolates should be sent to lovers not business associates. There were other options at resolving the many issues. We'll go back to Brisbane but we won't go back to the Stamfo

Yelp
Apart from the views which are pretty hard to beat in Brisbane, nothing else in this hotel was even close to 5 star. On arrival the front desk staff were friendly and gave helpful information about what was open in the area given that it was ANZAC Day. There was no offer to take our bag to our room (although I wouldn't have taken up the offer - it still would have been nice to have the option). On entering the room we saw twin beds - not the King that I had booked. A quick call down to reception seemed to sort this out. Jack was very apologetic and said he would get concierge to come up to show us to a new room. We thought this would happen quite quickly so waited out the front of the room - nearly 10 minutes later the concierge came barrelling down the hallway with the luggage trolley and, on seeing our one suitcase, muttered that he shouldn't have bothered to bring the trolley. He then ran us - and I do mean RAN - to a new room down the hall. He seemed to be put out by the whole situation and told us he was very busy and wasn't going to come up straight away so we should have waited in the room and watched TV. The room itself was dated and really needs a refurb. Dated fixtures which need to be replaced or at the very least painted and repaired. I then met a friend in the Pav Bar downstairs with the intention of having a few drinks and a bite to eat. During our second drink we saw a huge rat running around the courtyard between the lobby and Moo Moo. This instantly turned me off eating there so took ourselves down to Eagle Street instead. I also didn't bother eating breakfast at the hotel the following morning. I know it's by the river but come on - it was the size of a small cat. Management have since assured me pest control have attended but I'm not sure it makes much difference. I certainly won't be back and I'm not sure how they are clinging on to their 5 star rating.

Yelp
Very impressed indeed. My husband and I got married here 6 years ago, in the garden, and had our reception in the river room (seats up to 70, best views of the river) and yes, we did try and sneak a peak but the doors were locked (d'oh). We checked in without fuss, our room was clean, elegant and had beautiful views of the garden where we married and the river (and some pudgy man in his tighty whiteys a few floors down chilling out on his bed...). I have long since believed that we had found the secret hotel in the city 20-30s don't know about, or believe only richies could afford. But our room was on par with other hotels in the vicinity filled with the youngsters, it is a great thing. Privacy sans crowds especially on St Patricks Day weekend. The staff are friendly and accomodating and aren't snooty or rude. The hotel is beautiful, sophisticated and there is a DJ mixing it up to Barry White on Friday nights in the court yard outside Moo Moos. Just a short stroll to Eagle St Pier... what a great way to have a weekend without kids. Love this place, will be back soon. (It always feels nice to be greeted with 'welcome back to the Stamford Mr and Mrs...' from when we got married and stayed there 6 years ago..)

Yelp
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. It was absolutely beautiful. We must have mentioned our anniversary at the front desk, because when we came back to our room after lunch there was a complimentary bottle of bubbly in an ice-bucket and a letter from the manager "To Mr & Mrs Pete Foley on your anniversary". ...they must have missed the memo that we're two boys, but it's the thought that counts. We were really impressed. There's a telephone next to the toilet. That's pretty rad. Sensational views. A lovely lobby for high tea. The weirdest thing though is the attached bar; The Pav. I wanted to go have an expensive Hendricks surrounded by people with too much money but instead it seems to be catering to the after work crowd, so it just ends up being a pub. And as far as I'm aware there's no other bar at the Stamford. Still, bar aside, the Stamford was a wonderful experience. Get the breakfast buffet. It has everything you could possibly desire. Bocconcini and basil salad? OKAY. Eggs benedict? OKAY. Honeycomb you shave yourself to put on your pancakes? OKAY. ...I wish I was there right now.

Yelp
This review is for the chocolate high tea at the Stamford plaza. I have never stayed here so don't know about the rooms. The tea was incredible, yes it was $49 a person and you must book ahead and guaranty a number but its well worth every penny. I went there for a wedding shower and it was a great atmosphere for this, a hens tea, birthday celebration or just a reason to get dressed up for the afternoon and have fun. They had the normal savoury finger sandwiches and a smoked salmon quiche but why eat that when there is a buffet full of chocolate!! The dessert were incredible. Cakes, macaroons, cupcakes, brownies, strawberries, marshmallows and pineapple to dip in hot white or milk chocolate. Tea and coffee are included and they had $6 glasses of champagne which was high quality. Great afternoon with a great view of the river.

Yelp
The seafood buffet in the Brasserie Restaurant is great - good range of seafood and non-seafood options. Quality food! The seafood is always great, and the desserts are awesome! Especially the homemade vanilla bean ice cream :) Groups beware - the don't split bills

Yelp
Went here on Christmas Day for a buffet dinner and the food was amazing and kept coming all night. The service was excellent and the staff even found me a more comfortable chair. Highly recommend the Christmas Day buffet if your looking for somewhere to head out and not have to worry about cleaning up and having plenty of variety. We sat outside and had lovely views of the story bridge and the river at night. They also had live music as well

Yelp
Went for buffet dinner on Saturday night. Booking is essential to make sure you don't miss out in getting a table. My partner and I had a table facing the river which was really nice. The buffet was quite nice with a good range of salad, seafood, hot dishes and a small range of deserts. The seafood shines with it tasting fresh and full of flavour. I was a little disappointed with the selection of deserts. Though I think for a seafood buffet it did certainly focus on the hero, which was the seafood. Overall I would go again and do recommend if you love seafood :). The staff were attentive and friendly. If there was one major letdown it would be the toilet facilities. Floors and sinks needed to be cleaned and more hygienic.

Yelp
Avoid the Stamford Hotel Brisbane. Had Mother's Day Lunch there $600 plus and it was terrible. Food was very ordinary and the staff were hopeless and in one instance very rude. Staff lacked simple manners and etiquette. Contacted management who seemed less than worried about the food quality. Have spoken to many others since my visit and all concur that their experiences were similar. Will not be returning to the Stamford. Plenty of other 'good' hotels and restaurants in Brisbane.

Yelp
Love the furnishings, very old world. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is just beautiful and well worth the money. The hotel has some wonderful restaurants attached.

Yelp
The worst High Tea I have ever been to and I have been to many all over the world. Beautiful setting in the Brisbane River, but that is the only positive. Thin scones, uninteresting selection of cakes and sandwiches in yellow bread!!!? No tablecloths, no flowers and no pretty China. Would never ever take guests there again. For a hotel of this calibre, it was highly disappointing.

Yelp
Went for the seafood lunch buffet with a group of friends. To be fair i am comparing this place to another seafood buffet place in the city - as much as I want to say Samford Plaza is five star it is not for the food part but at least they have wine buffet ( that means you pay one price for wine and drink as much as you want)!
