Nice, modern reception area although some smiling from the staff wouldn't go amiss. Room was very comfortable but tired and could do with a spruce up, nothing wrong with it as such but you can tell the rooms are a bit old and need a freshen up. Bed very comfortable with good pillow selection. Room was quite dark with only one window, that said the view of the airport runways from my room on Level 7 was fantastic, great if you're a plane spotter (I'm not really but couldn't help myself). There was a train line (not passenger, seemed like cargo) though beneath my room, not a big deal as there were few trains during my stay but would have appreciated this being mentioned when I checked in.||Happy Hour at the bar in evenings with good selection. Breakfast buffet was sufficient, not the largest selection but enough to choose from with one of those great pancake machines where you press the button and watch the pancakes cook (sometimes I'm a child at heart!). The buffet itself was spread around the restaurant a bit so looked sparse in general (although content was good). Restaurant/bar staff were friendly and helpful and did know how to smile.||For deluxe rooms complimentary bottled water was advertised on the website as being an inclusion. There wasn't any in my room (only the bottles in the mini bar listed at a cost) so the next morning I went down and asked at reception, where I was quite rudely advised water is not complimentary. I did mention it showed on the website that it was, at which point I was grudgingly advised I could have a bottle and could pick it up on my way back from being out. By this point I felt so bad about it I didn't bother, it's only water so I didn't care about that and can buy it myself but don't offer something you don't intend to actually give (or update the website).||There is a good initiative offered of a F&B credit if you choose not to have your room serviced. I chose the non-service option however wasn't given the credit, after emailing the amount was refunded to me but again, if you offer it then make sure it happens.||I wanted to walk to Mascot train station, instead of telling me how to get there (which appeared to be too hard to explain) the receptionist simply suggested I take the bus from across the road. Hmm, okay, but I wanted to walk and ended up finding my own way, wouldn't have been that difficult to explain at all. Took the airport shuttle from airport to hotel which was great option for AUD$12 and quite a frequent timetable, no booking required just go to the shuttle stop.||Overall enjoyed my stay and would probably stay again.
