Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport Hotel & Conference Centre

First time I stayed at this hotel it was a right-royal mess. I in particular found the staff very rude and dismissive. Booked on my return stay, and there was a complete contrast just 3 weeks apart. Staff were warm, receptive, polite and un-rushed. The receptionist (I believe her name is Agata) offered me a water bottle, un-prompted, after finding out about my long travel and given the Sydney heat. Great stuff and very much appreciated specially as I was severely jet-lagged and tired. The waitress at the restaurant was also lovely and up for a chat. Rooms on both stays were clean, second stay overlooked the runway which was an added bonus, since I love watching planes. I never used the pool or gym because I didn’t have time. Proximity to the airport is defeated since they still charge for a shuttle bus that I never ended up using on the first stay because the driver wanted to delay the international passengers. I wrote to the hotel twice seeking a refund and this was never addressed. Generally speaking I think the first stay was just an unfortunate one-off. Shuttle bus incident was isolated and technically not the hotel’s fault as they outsource it to a third party (as per my understanding). Given my second stay, the complete contrast in the staff attitude and experience and cleanliness and high-standard of the rooms, I’ll be happy to book again. Thank you for a great stay.

This is a great hotel next to the airport (10 min walk, probably too short for taxi, but you do you…). Its fixtures and fittings in the rooms are ‘dating’ but everything worked, and my room was IMMACULATELY clean. Big room, had what I needed to do some work there, and well located if you want to taxi into the city (pick up was never more than 4 minutes away…!). Staff were very welcoming from my very early arrival, letting me freshen up before a bag drop whilst waiting for my room to be available. Was also one of the most competitively and reasonably priced hotels over New Year’s Eve, so I left with a feeling that I would definitely return. Not ‘boutique chic’, but amazing experience. Maybe my 10th business travel hotel this year and stands out as being really cared for. Good job, Stamford Plaza!!

We recently had a one night stay here, before flying overseas. We have stayed here previously, back in July before we went to the USA.|The rooms are quite large, even for a standard room. Plenty of space, and also very quiet. Minimal external noise, which is nice. Our room was clean, comfortable, and the bed was also very comfortable. The price was also reasonable, especially comparing it to the Ibis at Brisbane Domestic terminal, where we stayed on our return from overseas. That cost $100 more (without breakfast included), for a room that was very small, and a bed that felt like you were camping on an inflatable. |Staff at the Stamford were all friendly and helpful.|The only minor point to highlight is that there is a sign on the bathroom door, asking to keep the door closed whilst showering so you don’t set off the smoke alarms. The bathrooms definitely need some form of ventilation or extraction fan. Also there should be a dimmer on the bathroom lights. If you need to use the bathroom during the night, the lights are very strong, and not conducive to being able to go back to sleep.||Otherwise a good hotel, well located close to the airport and train, and very comfortable.

Stayed here for one night before catching a flight the next day. We arrived with our luggage around 10am. They held onto our luggage until a room became available at noon. They had a lounge area for us to wait in which had coffee and teas available. The room was surprisingly big. It was nice and clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom was supplied with toiletries and a blow dryer. The hotel is in walking distance of restaurants. We had a nice breakfast a block away at Piccolo Me Mascot.

I had a good stay in the hotel. Had the Executive King Suite and the room was very good and clean. The kitchenette had a combinated microwave and convection oven,, small minibar fridge, room size was very nice, a couch to spend a calm evening, clean and spacious bathroom, big sized shower. Spend 7 weeks for business and the staff was very very friendly and helpful. The offered laundry service was really cheap, Secured parking spot for 15$ a night. I would always come back to this place.

Very dated but room was cleaner than most. Had no body lotion and carpark is designed for vehicles under 2m. Would not stay here again. The restaurant was horrible. The table was greasy, drinking glasses still had lipstick marks all over them, bbq sauce was all over our pants when we walked out. It had been on the lounge when we were seated and being darkish we didn't notice it. They really take advantage of travellers with prices. Do not eat at restaurant

A great place to layover at on your way to somewhere else. I used the hotel as a place to stay before and after going on an overseas holiday. I came from a regional airport to catch an international flight the following day, didn’t want the rushing stress of close coordination of flights. The shuttle bus company took me to the door and the reception desk got me checked in quickly, offering suggestions and helpful tips for travellers. The rooms are nicely appointed, great shower and comfortable bed. Despite being so close to the airport I didn’t hear a plane all night. I checked out effortlessly and was on the pre-booked shuttle on my way to my next flight. It was so good I stayed here on the way back home.

Stayed for one night in a family room which was clean, spacious and tidy. Bed was a bit bouncy for my liking, but pillows soft and linen nice. Pool was refreshingly cold and could maybe do with a refurb. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was brilliant - lots to choose and cooked well. Great location, 10 min walk to station to get into Sydney.
